Heather... those of us on the Shrinkin' Violets thread are wondering where you are. Did you get our gifts?? We've been waiting for a baby update. I see your posts on Facebook and Laura sees your posts here, but the rest of us there don't visit these two places.

Good evening, Violets. Had a pretty good day today. I didn't sing for the chapel service, but did for the special occasion at the Library. My voice came out as a bass..... no NOT the fish..... but everyone seemed to like it and that's what counts. I'm going to head to bed early again tonight and see if I can get a better night's sleep. I couldn't stop coughing last night. Ethan comes at noon and my swimming pool is FIXED and heated to 86 so we'll be doing some swimming!! I've missed doing my water exercises. Michelle.. I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Roomie!! Suzie... another Violet with a new job?! Is it something that you enjoy doing? Can you still do your Curves job? Sorry the Tigers beat your guys again. Haydee, I've been looking at wedding dresses online. Makes me think back to when Kris got her dress. We found it online and she loved it. It only had to have a minor alteration. We got a lot of her things online and that was the joke during the wedding ceremony. Bob asked her where she got her dress.. online, where did you get your gloves?... online.. where did you get your flowers?.... online.. and where did you get Nathan?? hahaha I see that Heather posted some pictures on Facebook. Sure wish she'd post in here again. I don't know if she received the gifts I sent her. No word from her at all. ;o(( Just got a call from Joe and Ethan comes at 8 instead of noon, so I better head to bed and try and get some sleep. Coughing kept me from a good night's sleep last night plus the fact that I was worried I wouldn't be able to sing today. I had thought I'd have to read the words while the music played, but luckily I had enough voice to pull it off. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

There were lots of great moments, musical and spoken, during the service. Al Sharpton was not one of them.

Love both of them, Haydee, but my vote is for the second one. Glad Laura figured out how to post the pic. I couldn't do it through email. Laura...Carson is fine and you've learned a lesson, no more stuffed animals in the crib.

Good morning, Violets. Another balmy day in Northern Michigan. It's 52 degrees and I'm digging out my long sleeved shirts and cords. It's only supposed to get into the 60's today and tomorrow. Sure has been a chilly summer. No pool time in two weeks except for Laura's parent's pool. That was really awesome. Nothing on the agenda today except Ethan at 2:30 and a rehearsal this evening. I'm nursing a cold and hope my voice will last through rehearsal and a couple of singing gigs tomorrow. Suzie.. I'm SO proud of you!! You are really being a great bandster. You're showing what can happen when you follow all the rules. Off to make my tuna/soy nuts/oranges breakfast. Everyone have a great day! Any idea when PamELa gets back??? I miss her!!

Well, some of us are back, but some are still traveling or getting ready to travel. Such is the life of a Violet. We're back from taking the grandkids back. We stopped at the Casino and did our normal $20 a piece. I made $57.50 and Bob lost his $20 so we came out a bit over even. The kids were happy to see their mom and she was thrilled to have them back. It's awfully quiet here now, but I still have my yorkie babies to keep me company. Tomorrow is my hospital shift.. first one in two weeks so there will be tons for me to do. Ethan will be here on Tuesday. I've missed having him here. He was here for a little bit on Saturday while his mom and dad worked and we had fun outside. I'm anxious for the pool to be swimable (is that a real word?) again. I got a sunburn on my arms at the parade Saturday. Funny, I sat outside in Alabama many times in the heat of the day and didn't get a burn, but an hour in the Alpena sunshine and I'm beet red. Go figger. I'm going to head to bed and read for a bit. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up and showered and ready to head to Kris's to pick up the grandkids and take them back to their mom and dad. Sure was disappointed that they couldn't get in the pool yesterday. The pool people will hear about it tomorrow for sure. I stayed at the house last night with Grady so Kris could go with the kids and watch the fireworks. They didn't think Grady would like all the noise. Well, he sure made a lot of noise himself!! He had two really bad crying jags. The first one I was able to calm him down by singing to him. The second he just wouldn't stop for anything so I just rocked him and he finally wore himself out and fell asleep. I know I couldn't handle that baby all day, every day. More power to Kris! Hope everyone had a good 4th. I was able to eat a whole hamburger and an ear of corn. I need to do the 5 day test again or at least a day of liquids to get my restriction back to where it should be. Off to write in my journal and then get on the road. Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves!

Good morning, Violets.. Just popping in before we leave for the parade and the Maritime Festival with the grandkids. Hope everyone has a relaxing day with family. We finally have some sunshine!! At least that's what I think it is, it's been sooooo long here. Supposed to get up to 75 degrees. It's been in the low 60's since I got back from Alabama. Certainly not a typical summer. The heat exchanger is not fixed on the pool heater yet and we can't run the pump cause it leaks water into the heater, so I'm not a happy camper. The grandkids were looking forward to swimming in the nice, warm pool. With temps in the 60's during the day and 40's at night the water that's still in the pool is dang cold. grrrrrrrr Off to the parade.... Everyone make it a good one!!

Good evening, Violets. It feels sooooooooooo good to be home finally!! We picked up the grandkids and brought them here today. Kris and Nathan took them to their house for the evening. They'll be back here for the day tomorrow and then a cook out in the evening. My pool is a mess. The furnace was leaking water and the water level in the pool is way down. The heat exchanger was supposed to have been fixed, but it isn't and the pump hasn't been on in a week. Bob is going to the pool place first thing in the morning. If they kids don't get to use the pool the next few days, I'm going to be really upset. Tomorrow I'm taking "before" pics and will update them each month. I did that when I first got the band, but stopped after a year. I read an article about Chaz Bono and it said she was going to have the lap band surgery. The article said that it was very risky surgery and that 88% of people had complications. WHAT??? Course that was a doctor the Nation Enquirer interviewed. Jane.. hope you got your Cpap part. Fred Travelena died?? I didn't know that... just heard about Karl Malden. Gale Storm is the lady from the 50's that died. So we have had 7 die in the last couple of weeks. YIKES!! I'm going to get some laundry in and get ready for bed. It was a long day today. Everyone sleep well! Hey there Violets!! I made it in yesterday right on time and the Bobster was waiting for me. We are in Grand Rapids until tomorrow morning when we'll pick up the grandkids and head home. The Synod has been good, from what Bob says. I got me a ton of free pens, note pads and candy.. ;o) I'm going to the closing worship tonight and then that's it. LARA..:0) Bob says that only Catholics can take communion, but that sometimes the priest will allow it. Michelle... it was nice listening to Bob snore last night... and he didn't say anything to me during the night either. Jane.. hope your back is doing better. My face was a bit red, but didn't hurt at all. TracyK.. my goal is to be at goal for next May. When we get home, I'm starting the monthly pictures again and really going to obey the bandster rules. Bob is ready to start over again too. I had a great time in Alabama and look forward to the next meeting. Just a favor though.. don't keep asking me if I am having a good time!!!! I AM!!!... I am much more talkative online than in person.. duh..like you didn't notice that. It's just me and that's how I am. Haydee.. I didn't get to see any pictures of wedding dresses... dang. Did I go to bed too early?? But you'll be beautiful in whatever you pick out. PamELa..have a wonderful time in Italy. Hope you get enough rest between now and tomorrow. Off to check out the 85 emails I received while I was gone. We are at an internet cafe with free wifi. It costs 10 bux in the room to connect for 24 hours. Everyone have a good day!!

good morning, Violets.. We Violets in Alabama are fried... in several ways. We ate at Top of the River last night and had fried pickles, fried onion rings, fried fish, fried crab, fried water. Ok, maybe not fried water, but it was the only thing. We were waited on by a Clay Aiken sound alike so I was in heaven. We won't speak of the margi's. la la la la la.. hiccup... la la la la. We're up and around for the day chilling in the a/c before we head out for adventures. Everyone have a great day. Hope the weather holds for you Suzie.

Good morning, Violets. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30 and I have to be up at 5 to head to the airport at 6. The flute gig went very well, but it was hotter than hell :eek:there!!! 97 degrees and that's not usual for Michigan. At least it will prepare me for Alabama. I have my Suzie shirt! Off to bed. Will see some of you tomorrow and the rest online. Will take LOTS of pics!!

Skorts, capris, tops, bathing suit. That's my wardrobe for the next 5 days!! We better not be going anywhere fancy! Though I wouldn't mind finding a good old southern Baptist church service to go to on Sunday morning! I'm wearing a jumper for the flight in, but it's still pretty casual. Off to the car.
