Good evening, Violets.. The concert is over and it was very, very good. We got a standing ovation. I got it recorded on the laptop and will burn some CD's for the group. Haydee... I LOVE the shoes.. They look elegant AND comfortable! Janie.. sorry to hear about your customer. That was certainly quick! Glad she didn't have to suffer.. and it won't be you. You've always got family right here. I'm really tired and need to get some sleep. I didn't eat supper and now it's too late so I guess I'll just wait until breakfast. Everybody have a good evening. Sleep well!

Haydee..the Bobster and I would love to go someplace warm, but we have three dogs and a cat and that kinda makes it difficult to rent. When we are petless, I'm sure we'll travel south for the winters. Right now, the cruising and visiting friends in Florida for a week is enough to get us through.

So if you take a break, and we all took a break, just where the heck would we be???? Keep posting, my dear. It's what it's all about!:scared2:

Good morning, Violets.. Yup.. it's still morning, but not by much. I've already been to a rehearsal for a song I'm singing at a memorial service tomorrow. Ethan comes in an hour and then at 5 I start getting dressed and fancied up for the concert tonight. I'll be so glad when it is over and sure hope it goes well. We've been rehearsing for this concert for 7 months now. After the service tomorrow, I'm going to recaulk the bathtub. Such fun! The Bobster can't do it with his bum hand, plus the fact that he's out of town and it needs to be done so I guess it's up to me. It was a good decision to close up the pool. It's only 55 today and it would have cost a fortune to keep the water up to 88 especially with the chilly evenings we are having now. Lots of garden work to do, but won't even think about that till Monday after all the concerts and church. Haydee... enjoy the pool!! Sure wish I could be there to enjoy it too. I'm really going to miss mine. Michelle should be in Disneyworld right now and having a great time making those memories. Heather... it probably wouldn't let you type two novels in a row!!! Your last long post was very interesting. We have an adopted son who had less than acceptable foster care before he came to live with us. He exhibited the same things your foster son did and we had to finally say enough and sent him to a group home when he was 18. I couldn't have him abusing my other children. He's now 43 and has been living on his own for years now, but we still take him out to lunch every month and keep in touch. He has a live in girlfriend who is also mentally disabled and they've been together for several years now. As long as he takes his meds,he can function. He has a team that oversees his daily routine. We had him from age 5 -18 so it wasn't like we gave up right away. The problems just grew worse over time. Off to get some lunch and wait for Ethan to arrive. Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Ahhhhhhh just in from the last swim in the pool. I turned the heater off and started draining the water. It's all vacuumed out so just a matter of the pool people coming and putting the winter chemicals in. sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Suzy and Heather.. You are certainly Violets in my opinion!! Hope you stay with us!!! We have a great group and I'm pleased. Heather.. Bob is right across the street from the baseball stadium. It's going to kill him not to be able to go to the Tigers game tonight. He has meetings. But he is going to go to the R & R hall of fame when he gets a chance. The only other thread I visit regularly is the Before and After picture thread. Other than that, I have enough time for this thread and Facebook. That's my day in a nutshell! Off to my first rehearsal. This one is flutes. The one at 7 is singing. The busy life of a musician!! BBL...

Good morning, Violets.. The Bobster is on his way and should be in Cleveland in an hour. I'm waiting to see if I get Ethan today. Joe doesn't know if they have work for him or not. It's either feast or famine with him these days. Haven't heard about my second rehearsal tonight. Just waiting to hear if they guy we're have the special rehearsal for is even going to be there. He's been gone 3 weeks and really needs the practice before the concert tomorrow night. it's darn chilly this morning, but supposed to be sunny and in the 70's today so you know what I'll be doing this afternoon.. definitely for the last time.. sighhhhhhh Summer is over and fall has arrived. I have about 10 plants to plant in the garden with 6 more coming from ebay next week. I have lots of ideas for garden improvements next spring before the garden walk. Should be fun!! Off to find some breakfast. Everyone have a great day!!

Sleep well, Janie. Hope you feel better in the morning!! ((hugs))

Good evening, Violets.. Just ready to head to bed so this is a drive by post. The Bobster leaves tomorrow morning at 5 a.m. to head to the airport for his trip to Cleveland. Ethan comes at 8 and I have two rehearsals in the evening. I was able to get in the pool this afternoon. Ethan's dad picked him up early so he didn't get to go swimming with Gramma. Maybe tomorrow. I'm going to turn the pool heater off tomorrow evening and then drain the pool next week so it can be winterized. Time to open up the hot tub! I watched Glee for the first time tonight. What a hoot! That's going to be a Wednesday habit for me after choir. Off to read a bit before zzzzzzzzzzzing. Everyone have a great night. Sleep well.

Great to hear the good news!! Isn't it marvelous what they can do now??
-
It's too bad your parents can't do what you're doing, Laura. But it's so hard. You always think that a parent's love will take care of everything, but often it's not enough. That's where tough love comes in. And it IS tough. You just wonder how long this can keep going on. (((hugs)))) to you for keeping Carson safe.

Laura.. what is happening with the letter AND your sister????

Good morning, Violets.. It's going to be a busy few days and then I can breathe again. Tonight is choir, tomorrow night, 2 rehearsals, Friday night our concert, Saturday singing at a memorial service for a church member and Sunday another concert. Then the concerts are over until the Peace Concert in October. For that one, I'll be playing flute in our quartet, singing in our group and singing a solo. Busy, busy, busy!!! The Bobster leaves early tomorrow morning so I'm on my own this weekend. First concert of mine that he will miss. But I'm recording it on the laptop so he'll be able to hear it all. I hope! Cleaning lady?? What's that???? We never could afford one with 4 kids and a pastor's and teacher's salary. My school district had the 2nd lowest pay in all of Michigan. Sooooo I did it all and it wasn't pretty. I remember days when my Mom would show up unannounced at my doorstep on a Saturday morning with a bucket and mop in hand. God bless her, but 7 a.m. on a Saturday??? lol Sure do miss her. Ethan might come at noon today if Joe has work. We had a real downpour last night and my pool is really full. Ethan and I had a great time in it yesterday and hope to do the same today. Tomorrow, if the weather holds, could be our last day in it. sighhhhhhhh Time to get the trikke out and start riding again. Off to fix some breakfast. I made sure I didn't eat anything last night after supper and didn't take my antacid pill. Everything was fine, thank goodness. It will be a late supper tonight after choir so I won't chance it and will take a pill. I don't ever want to experience that acid stuff during the night ever ever again. Can't tell you how much I HATE that!!! Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves!

234 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. Ethan has arrived for the day and Grady will be here in a couple of hours. Gramma has a workout today. The rain has stopped finally and if the sun comes out today Ethan and I will go fimmin. This will be the last week for the pool. We'll call to have it closed up next week. I'm so happy that I was able to use it into Sept. If I did not have the heater, I would have had hardly any pool time at all this year. Michelle.. I'm so excited for you and your family! it's so neat to find something that you all enjoy and can do together. Wow.. no flu vaccine for some of you?? Ours has been here for a week now. I'm scheduled to work Oct. 2 at the shot clinic. I'm talking regular flu vaccine though, not the special swine flu vaccine. I don't think I'll be getting that one. Off to watch some tv with Ethan and help Bob start to pack for his trip to Cleveland on Thursday. Everyone have a great day!!! Be good to yourselves.

Take care of yourself!! Hope it's not the flu.. Did you get your flu shot yet??

Grady just left after an hour here. He's so darn cute! He's got three teeth now and he played with toys on the floor for most of the time he was here. So different from other times when he didn't want anything but to be held and walked. Kris brought over a box of clothes and I have more "new" sweaters to wear plus a new khaki skirt. Nathan checked out Bob's wound and pronounced it as looking good. He or Kris said they will take the stitches out when needed. Saves us an office call. Grady is getting baptized Oct. 18 and Kris is looking online at invitations. She has a couple of cute ones picked out that will have Grady's picture on them. I had a 2 hour nap this afternoon so I guess my body was telling me something. I haven't napped in ages. It was a great day for it with all the rain we had. I had a half of a plum before my nap and spent the first 20 minutes pbing 3 times. I ate the plum like I used to.. just chowed down on it. Not a good idea. I don't think I've had a plum since getting banded and now I know why. Going to watch CSI:Miami tonight and then head to bed. Ethan comes at 8 and Grady at 10:30. Should be fun!! Have a good evening. Sleep well!!

235 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Yikes, you've been very talkative while I've been gone!! Laura.. Kris is dieting and working out. They have cut out carbs and sugar, though she can have a sweet treat on Sundays only. I think having Grady sleeping at night has made her more relaxed and happy and she's not turning to food like she has. I'm proud of her and I'm happy cause I'm getting all her too small clothes and when she gets back down to her normal size, she's going to buy new clothes so I don't have to give any back.. woo hoooo!! Michelle... Last time we went to Disney with the entire family, we had the meal deal and it was so neat to be able to go to different restaurants. We ate at the Moroccan restaurant and loved it. Bob liked the belly dancers.. sheesh. Are you going to wear your bouncy shoes there?? I sure am enjoying mine. Don't know if they are doing anything but they sure are comfortable. And I like the glittery stuff on them. lol Haydee.. congrats on the new car. Mine is 5 years old and is the oldest car I've ever had. We usually traded ours in every 2 or 3 years. But this one is paid for and I'll just keep driving it till it can't drive anymore. It's starting to get a bit sunny out. It poured all morning and early afternoon. No working outside today. No Ethan so I think I'm going to enjoy a little nap in a bit. The Bobster's hand is not as swelled up today and he says it feels better so that's all good. Facebook has been having problems all day today. Sure hope it's not going to crash. I love that place!! Well, off to zzzzzzz land. We babysit Grady tonight for an hour. Hope he's not a cranky pants!!
-
Good morning, Violets.. it's a dreary, rainy day here today. I had big plans to start cleaning out gardens and then have a leisurely float in the pool to soak up some more rays, but obviously that ain't gonna happen. I have to get ready for my hospital shift in a few minutes. PamELa... kudos on the exercising. Glad you're feeling better!! Michelle... wooo hoooooo DisneyWorld! I can feel the excitement. Bob goes to Clevelend on Thursday for a church meeting. He's going to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for me. I have to stay home cause I have two concerts this weekend. Janie... sorry, I don't know do Excel either. I'm also a Word person. Laura.. done with the cleaning?? We get Grady tonight when the kids go to work out. Kris lost 8# last month. I'm so proud of her!! And Grady is sleeping so much better now. The Bobster is doing better. His hand was pretty swollen so I gave him a Water pill hoping that would work. He went to the bathroom about every 45 minutes last night, but the hand is still swollen. Nathan is going to look at it tonight when he comes here so he'll let us know how everything is healing. I'm off to get dressed and then head to work. Everyone have a great day!!! Be good to yourselves.
