184 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!
-
Good morning, Violets.. No Ethan today so it was a perfect chance to sleep in, but my mind was racing thinking of what I wanted to say in a written report to the board about the !@#$ retreat. So I'm up and getting ready to start typing. We're going to get the garage cleaned up today so they can take the dumpster away. There's definitely frost on the pumpkins this morning. 25 degrees right now. My knee has been feeling better lately. I'm going to take a bike ride this afternoon so that shouldn't bother it and I'm taking the Tylenol arthritis pills. They seem to be helping too when I can keep them down. Off to find some breakfast and then get started typing trying not to use any !@#$ words. Janie.. I'd call and see what they think about the appointment. Everyone have a great day!!! Computer comes back today!! No bugs, but a bad section of the hard drive.. but I didn't lose anything.......this time. He said next time I might not be so lucky. That means I need to get a new hard drive before that happens. He said the one I have has had lots of repair issues. Thank you, Dell.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Ok.. so apparently you don't read ALL my posts thoroughly. :tongue2: I had a !@#$% retreat from 8:30 - 1 today. Remember me telling you about that????? I can't begin to tell you how incredibly awful it was. It was the staff of the church plus the pastor plus the facilitator. When the facilitator started out by saying God spoke to him about the retreat and when he was concerned about the timing, God spoke to him again and told him that HE would take care of the timing and that GOD thought the 10:15 break time would be good.... well he lost me. I'm sorry, but I live in the real world and God emails me. It was the stupidest, waste of time I have ever experienced. I called several board members including the chair and voiced my complaints.Other staff members did too. The staff has been asked to take a 10% pay cut for next year and we are paying this guy $500 for 1-1/2 days a month plus mileage. I am way beyond angry. I even said.... close your ears, Michelle,... the F word when I got home and I NEVER, EVER say that word. The book he was using to base this retreat on was Parent Effectiveness Training. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and he treated us like children. Only we weren't buying it and we told him exactly how we felt. I think things are going to come to an end soon for the pastor and this "expert". I have a headache and a heartache and I have a rehearsal this evening. Sorry for venting, but the good thing is I didn't eat any of the breakfast they served. The fruit was frozen and I don't like that and I didn't want to eat any of the bagels or pumpkin bread or coffee cake they served. I was too stressed out at the end to eat any lunch and besides I had to leave early to relieve Bob so he could go to his meeting. I ate a bowl of my go to cabbage beef soup and felt soothed. Bob and I will have to figure out what to have for supper and then I'm out the door once again. Everyone have a good evening... I'm just going to try to breathe in...........breathe out............breathe in...............breathe out....... !@#$%.... ooops, not working.

Aghhhhhh. my Dell has gone to the Dell Doc. It kept freezing up and I was told it probably has "bugs". Janie...I got a bunch of coupons in the mail today from ebay. Thanks for letting me know about that!!! No walking today.. computer problems, raking the neighbor's leaves and waiting for the Schwans man to come with our order has taken the whole afternoon. Church meeting in a little over an hour and that will be a long one. joy, joy.

Good morning, violets... Just watched the sun rise. Now off to take a shower and get dressed before Ethan arrives for the day. I have my hospital shift today, so Grampa will have babysitting duties for an hour or two by himself. Going to try and walk the mall with different shoes this time and see if that makes a difference with my knee. Everyone have a great day!! Be good to yourselves.
-
Good evening, Violets.. We went for a 40 minute bike ride today. It felt so much better on my knee. I'm going to see if I can get a contraption to put on my bike so to make it stationary for the winter. I'd love to be able to ride it all the time. When we got home I took a 3 hour nap.. 3 HOURS!! Guess my body was trying to tell me something. Didn't get anything done that I wanted to and it was a beautiful day. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day. Ethan comes at 8 for the day. We'll have to get out to the backyard and some fresh air for sure. Janie.. hope your headache feels better!! PamELa.. loved the Pride pictures on Facebook. Everyone looks happy and GAY! (not to mention proud!):w00t::tt2: Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well. Desperate Housewives is on tonight.. wooo hooooo!

Forgot to say... I talked to Nathan about my knee. I've already had arthoscopic surgery on it for a torn meniscus. It's just a matter of time before the arthritis gets bad enough for knee replacement. He said they will postpone it as long as possible. My mom had both her knees replaced so I have it in my genes. I'll just have to grin and bear it for the time being. I'm betting if I could lose 20 more pounds, that that will make a difference.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Back from church. It was a really good service. We had a sub preacher and he's always easy to listen to. The choir did a great job and even got applause. I sang a solo and was lay reader. It was almost the Judy show once again. Kris, Nathan, Grady and I went out to eat. I shared a Moo Shoo veggie dish with Kris. I had about 4 bites and had to pb. I couldn't keep the tylenol down this morning.. must be the size of the pill. I ate a crab rangoon and it stayed down, but in spite of all that..and exercising at least a half hour a day.. I gained a pound this week. sighhhhhhhhhhhh But I'll just keep on keeping on. This week's goal is to cut carbs and up the protein. I'm headed out on my bike in a few minutes. Might be the last day I can get it out. It's 60 degrees here right now and just a gorgeous, sunny, Fall day. Not many more of those left for us. Everyone have a wonderful day. Laura... happy to hear Carson finally has a tooth. Now he should be a bit more comfortable... at least until the next one breaks through.

Good morning, Violets.. I'm having computer problems and they are annoying me greatly!! Everytime I get the newest Windows update installed, the computer freezes up. I have to do a system restore to the point before the update and it's fine. I thought I had it all set yesterday and then it automatically updated during the evening so when I got on last night it froze up again. I did a system restore this morning and now it's working again. arghhhhhh Had a nice dinner last night, but Kathy fixed pork and it wouldn't go down. Everything else was yummy though. And since she has a band, she understands.. Came home and had a few nuts and then tried to take a tylenol but that all came up too. I don't know if the pill stayed down so I didn't take anymore. I'll try some this morning and see if they stay down. I got the arthritis tylenol to see if it would help my knee. I was fine until I took Grady for a walk in his stroller. By the time I got back my knee was aching again. arghhhhhhh Off to church and then lunch out with Bill, Kathy, Kris, Nathan and Grady. Bob is preaching at a church in Rogers City which is 40 minutes away. He'll be on his own for lunch. We got all the leaves taken care of yesterday. A couple of guys stopped by and gave us a quote to rake, mow and bag and we thought it was a pretty good deal. Now we just need to take care of the big pile Bob had already raked up. We'll burn them today. It's supposed to be in the upper 50's again. It was a beautiful day yesterday. Off to church... BBL

188 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. It's a beautiful, Fall day here. Temp is 48 already and it's going to get up into the high 50's today. Grady comes at 1:30 so his mom can go to a baby shower and we are going to out to dinner with friends tonight. I took 2 Tylenol pm's last night and this morning the ache in my knee is gone, though it still clicks when I walk. I'm going to do the glider this morning instead of pounding the pavement. Better for my knee today. I slept well last night except for very weird dreams. A pastor's wife should not be walking down the expressway shirtless on her way to Louisiana. And when the Bobster surprises me saying he's going on the flight with me, he should remember to bring his vaccination record cause he can't get on the plane without it. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Off to find some breakfast. Everyone have a great weekend!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. We're back from our 2 mile walk at the mall. Well, I walked 2 miles.. Bob stopped to talk to the owner of Walden Books and missed a half a mile. The store is closing in January and that will be a big loss to an already dying mall. Just about the only people there today were the old farts walking. Heather.. what is your Master's thesis on?? I never got my masters, but hubby got his doctorate and I remember way back then having to type it all when computers were just new and what a difference it made typing on a computer rather than an electric typewriter. Am I giving away my age??? Sounds like your landlord didn't have to worry about renting the place after you left. So the concern she had about that was unfounded. Will be interesting to see what happens to your security deposit. Off to warm up some soup for lunch. Ethan doesn't come until 2 today so we have little extra time to relax.

Good morning, Violets.. I'm having computer problems this morning. I tried a system restore and hope that works. I was in the middle of a post and it froze up. It had been doing that since I got online. Keeping my fingers crossed I can get this posted. Michelle.. yep.. lots of jumping and hip hopping. She told us she does it differently than the other Zumba place in town. It's a great workout. My knee just can't take the jumping so that's when I sit out until the cool down. I wore my brace and it seemed to help. Kris is going on Saturday, but I'm going to stick with just the Thursday one and do my walking on the other days. The bobster and I are headed to the mall in just a few minutes to get our walk in before Ethan arrives at noon. Kris and Nathan are coming over tonight and we're going out to dinner with them. It was 25 degrees this morning and frost everywhere. Bob got lots of leaves raked yesterday and will try and finish up today. It's supposed to be a really nice weekend with temps in the mid 50's so maybe, just maybe we can get some leaves burned. We haven't even started on the dumpster yet! I want to go see This Is It and Christmas Carol this weekend. Off to walk.. Everyone have a great day. Glad you're feeling better, PamELa..
-
Well, I survived. I did 45 minutes and that's my limit. When they start really getting into all the jumps and hip hopping, I bow out gracefully. Then I wait till they get to the end and do the cool down exercises. It's a great workout and I do enjoy it. Hope I can continue. Off to watch CSI and then Project Runway. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well!!
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Joe just picked up Ethan and now for some quiet time for Gramma before I leave for Zumba and flute rehearsal. The Bobster raked the leaves in the front yard. They are soaking wet so we can't burn them, but hopefully by the weekend we'll be leaf free. I have all the ingredients ready to make Peachy Keen chicken in the pressure cooker. The leftover soup will be for lunches tomorrow and Saturday. We are going to work on filling the dumpster up this weekend. We have all day Saturday to work and Sunday afternoon. Bob preaches at a Presbyterian church on Sunday. They will be listening to see if they want to hire him for an interim position. I'm hoping he gets it, but whatever will be, will be and we're ok with that. Off to straighten up things before I get supper ready and then leave... Will check in after Zumba if I survive..

I never thought of ebay for coupons!!! Just went there and got (10) dollar off coupons for $2. Thanks for the tip!!!

Back again.. just finished making chicken gnocchi soup in the pressure cooker. Perfect for this snowy, Fall day. Janie... I've been meaning to tell you, I'm STILL using the White Cranberry/Peach drinks I bought when you gave me the coupons back before the Texas meet up. Can you believe it?? I haven't bought a box since then and I still have 3 boxes left. I don't know what I'll do when I have to go back to actually buying the stuff again.. Off to ladle out the soup. yums...

Good morning, Violets... Laura.. teething is the pits! Did you get some ambusol to put on his gums?? And give him some Tylenol. This too shall pass. Grady has 4 teeth now and another one trying to come in. Those teeth sure throw everything out of whack. I'm up and waiting for Ethan to arrive for the day. Then I have Zumba and a flute rehearsal tonight. I'm going to have my brace on my knee and try and take it easy. Ethan just walked in so I have to scoot.. bbl...
