Good evening, Violets.. Christmas 2009 is just about over and it's been a very good one for us. We have so much to be thankful for, good health, family, friends and of course our bands. Though today you'd never know I had one. It was a total pig out day today. Tomorrow is a new day and another chance to get back on track. I'm going to hit the exercise hard this week and see if I can melt off a few pounds before the cruise. We leave Jan. 7 and won't be back here until the 17th. We'll be in LA for a couple of days before the cruise and I will be stalking movie stars. My luck, the only one I'll see is Lindsay Lohan. Off to read some Kindle on the PC.. sleep well everyone! Jane.. I got 3 boxes of ribbon candy!!! If I was good, it would last me all year. But I'm betting it doesn't make it till the new year. It's the really thin ribbon candy. Walmart sells it and the kids know how much I love it. Stephen King is still going strong on the writing. He comes out with a new book at least twice a year. He had a horrible accident a few years back but seems to have recovered. And yes, a lot of his books are gory and violent. My favorite was The Green Mile. This one is called Under the Dome and is huge!! Bob ate the last 2 English Muffin pizzas for breakfast.. *gasp* and I had a piece of Christmas Stollen. We're just going to pick at things until dinner out tonight. I have a cranberry orange salad to take tonight along with some boiled in beer shrimp. Off to play Bejeweled on Facebook. Enjoy the day!!!

Merry Christmas!! Good morning, Violets! Candlelight service was beautiful as always. All of the music made it that way. I won't even go into how boring the sermon was.. fa la la la la. Kids all came over and we had English muffin pizzas and then opened gifts. Ethan made out very well. He got tons of clothes and toys. I got ribbon candy and a laptop cooling fan. Our gifts from Kris and Nathan come today. We told the kids no gifts, but they have minds of their own. Bob and I opened our gifts to each other today. I got him a new robe and he got me the new Stephen King book and some more ribbon candy. Yikes!! Talk about temptation!! He also got me a laptop lapdesk. I'm happy!! Now on to our cruise in two weeks. Off to make a Jello salad for dinner at Kris's inlaws tonight. Hope everyone has a relaxing, fun day with friends and family.

Good afternoon, Violets.. One more hour and then I start getting ready to head to church for the service. I got 40 big sugar Cookies baked and frosted this morning, plus got all the fixin's for English Muffin pizzas chopped and ready. House is clean, presents are under the tree and Ethan just went home a little while ago. Time to relax, breathe and enjoy the quiet before all the excitement of opening gifts tonight. Heather....I'm always amazed by the stupidity of some people. The hateful reaction to gays, to African Americans, to any minority in general is a mystery to me. And those people who are so hateful are oftimes the professed christians. So sad. May you all receive the peace, love and joy of the newborn babe in the manger. God bless you, my friends..

We're back from visiting the church. It is very pretty and Bob is very excited. Here are some pics. I realized I didn't get any of the outside of the church. We go back onthe 3rd of Jan. and I'll get some then.

Good morning, Violets.. Up early to wait for Ethan this morning. We are leaving at 9:30 to go to Bob's new church so he can get a key and check out his new office. I didn't sleep well last night either. I started a new exercise program yesterday called Mitch Gaylord's melt off the pounds. It is 10 minutes of exercises using a 2# ball. Sounds so simple, but I was sore last night and couldn't get comfortable in bed. I'll have to give it another shot today. Choir rehearsal tonight and then dinner out. Nothing else on the agenda today. I sure love sitting here in the dark by the light of the Christmas tree. So peaceful. We are expecting rain on Christmas eve also, but not until after midnight. They are calling for freezing rain on Christmas day so that will be an adventure. We are supposed to go to Kris's inlaws for dinner, but don't know if the freezing rain will change that. Tis me again.. just wanted to share this pic I got in email. It was taken at the Christmas pageant rehearsal. Yes, I wear a halo during the rehearsal.. it keeps me sane. And Grady is dressed as a sheep except for his ears headband. And the pic captures what I love about the Bobster and why I've stuck with him even when he loses his cell phone, or his wallet, or his keys, or his checkbook.. all of which happen frequently. Yes, he has a doctorate, yes, he is forgetful and yes, he's MINE.

Good morning, Violets.. Lazy day here today. The Bobster goes in for his final approval for his new job and we get Ethan at 1:30 if his dad is still working. He might only work a half day so that would mean no Ethan. The Bobster said he could really screw up this part of the job approval so he wouldn't get this job and would be available for our church here.. HA.. ain't happenin'. I have nothing today except for rehearsal tonight. I plan on wrapping the Bobster's gift and a few little ones that are left that I forgot about last night. Then it's just laundry and relaxing today. PamELa.. the pix of Klausy are sweet. He doesn't look like he could chow down on a cat. So innocent. Kinda like you..but we all know better...:tt2::crying::tt2: Wow! the bling for Susanne sounds impressive. I'll take the old earrings, please.. Off to find some breakfast and get showered and dressed for the day. Everyone make it a good one!!

Good evening, Violets.. Ethan and I got 4 dozen sugar cookies cut out, baked and frosted. Ethan was a bigggggggggg help.. I gave him a finished cookie to sample and he licked all the frosting off.. didn't bite the cookie at all! Oh well.. good memories all around. And Jane.. they are my very favorite cookie too, but they have to be crisp. Bob and I just finished wrapping all the gifts. I still have 2 gift cards to buy and then that's it. I have to wrap Bob's gift, but I can do that anytime. Tonight was the first Monday in ages that I have had to myself with no rehearsals, no Grady, no nuthin' cept watching NCIS and playing on the puter. Grady is teething again and was running a temp and really cranky so Kris and Nathan decided to stay home this evening. We're getting a few flurries of snow tonight. Nothing that will amount to anything. Michelle, how many inches of snow did you end up with? Off to read some more on the Kindle. Everyone have a good evening! Sleep well.

Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm back from my hospital shift and delivering some fudge. Only one more box of fudge to deliver to the neighbors and then it will be all out of the house. BUT, Ethan and I are making Christmas cookies this afternoon. My favorite... sugar cookies with frosting. I'm all done with my singing this season except for Christmas Eve when I'll be playing flute for the prelude, the choir has two pieces and I sing "Mary, Did You Know". Then I can take a break from musical stuff for awhile and get ready for our cruise in 20 days!! Off to get some lunch and get the dough ready for cookies. Everyone have a great day!!!

Good evening, Violets.. The pageant went extremely well today. The choir made me proud. They sounded awesome. The kids did a good job, though I would have preferred a little more action and not so much frozen figures in the tableau. Something else to work on for next year. Now on to the Messiah concert tonight. That's an easy one for me cause I just sing and don't have to worry about directing or playing flute. I just get to enjoy it! Guess what??? The head of the Board of Directors of the church here asked Bob today if he would consider coming back if/when Pastor Tom leaves. Dang... 2 weeks too late. Sooo the good news is it looks like the pastor's days are numbered here. After the potluck today we all joined hands and made a big circle and sang Silent Night. Guess who wasn't there?? And guess who nobody asked about? Yup.. Pastor Tom. He never sticks around to help with cleaning up or whatever. It's just eat and run. Time to get some supper and get dressed for the concert. PamELa.. Jetta is now in the house with and she is a huge dog, German shepherd mix size. She does well most of the time and even does well with the yorkies and the cat. (she doesn't try to eat it!) Everyone have a good evening.

Good morning, Violets.. Off to herd up Wisemen, Shepherds, sheep, Angels and Mary and Joseph. Christmas pageant is in a few hours. Then a potluck afterwards, then a long nap and then Messiah tonight. Here is the picture of Grady having a wonderful time with Santa.

Good evening, Violets.. Wow, PamELa... first a cat and now a trainer!! Klausy is moving up in the food chain.. Christmas pageant rehearsal went well today. Choir rehearsed from 9-10 and we had the kids with us from 10-11. Then I babysat Grady while Kris and Nathan did some errands. Then out to lunch and afterwards a nap for me!! We went to the mall to wrap presents as part of a fund raiser and didn't raise any funds at all. Our mall is basically dead and nobody needed any presents wrapped. We were supposed to be there from 5:30-8 but left at 7:30 after sitting there totally bored for 2 hours. Tomorrow is the pageant and the Messiah concert so you know what I'll be doing!! Good morning, Violets.. Up early today to get to church by 8:30 to begin rehearsal for the Christmas Pageant. Grady is going to be a sheep this year!! Kris was always an angel in the pageant so it's pretty neat to see the tradition continue in the family. 29 degrees here and snow is not as pretty as it once was. It would be nice to get a fresh dusting before Christmas, but Michelle, I'll leave the huge snowstorm to you! Take care.. hope you don't have to go out in it for awhile. Off to get dressed and get some breakfast in. Everyone have a great day!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Well, we got three rooms cleaned spic and span and no gifts wrapped. Ethan will be here shortly and we are going out to get some groceries, mail some books to our son for Christmas and get the cupcake of the week at the bakery. They sell them individually and I always write a critique online. Tough job, but someone's got to do it. PamELa.. I remember the days of teacher gifts. I still have some that were ornaments that I hang on the tree each year and remember the child that gave it to me. Then there were the gifts that went into the garage sale! lol The last gift from my foster grandma was an angel...... with Fiber optic wings. Sorry... angels and fiber optic do not belong in the same sentence. I still have the macaroni Christmas tree ornament my son Joshua (34) made me when he was in Kindergarten. It goes on our tree every year with the reindeer made by Joe (31). Unfortunately I don't have one from Kris for some reason, but we do have ornaments from Bob's grandparent's and our parent's trees. Pretty special... they were the ones I couldn't find this year cause I put them in a special place. Fortunately when I moved the Christmas card basket, they were behind it. They are going in the angel cabinet for safe keeping this year. Sooooooo next year when I can't find them, please remind me of this post, k? Our New Year's plan is the same as the last few years. Nathan, Kris, Grady, Bob and I will be going to a Detroit Piston's game and staying over night. There are tickets on ebay right now Nathan is tracking that have 4 tickets, dinner and Snacks in the VIP room plus parking. Hope he can get them. Ethan has arrived. Off to do some fun stuff with the little guy and the big guy.
