Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm back from my hospital shift. The copy machines were down so I did what I could without having to copy anything. Still took me 2 hours. I came home and had some tuna salad for lunch and am now having some blueberries and cream. yums. Bob has to go out and get the fixin's for pressure cooker chili. I need to eat by 5 so I can get out to watch Grady by 6. Good news.. remember the wedding I told you about last Friday... with the sleigh ride and elk viewing?? Well, they called today and want Bob to do a wedding out there May 22!! They usually contact the magistrate to do weddings there, but she got fired for embezzlement, so when we were out there, they asked if Bob would be interested in doing any weddings. You betcha!! And I go along with the package if they need music. So kewl. It's such a beautiful location. Bob and I will be headed to Texas in May. :wink: Off to finish my blueberries and finish packing for my overnight stay with Grady.

Good morning, Violets.. No work for Joe today so no Ethan. Haven't seen him since Wednesday last week. I miss that little guy. He's all potty trained now, so that's a great thing!! I'll be at the hospital for awhile today for my shift. Nobody has done my job since I left on the cruise, so there will be a big back up of folders to make. Might be there 3 hours today. Then I'm going to come home and EXERCISE! I won't weigh in until Sunday. Haydee... glad to have you back!! Saw Juan's pics on Facebook. PamELa.. have fun on the house hunt!! I remember when we finally were able to get a house after living in parsonages all our married life. When I walked into this house I knew it was the one. We've been here 17 years now and I still like it, especially when it's just the 2 of us. It's just the right size. You know I love my back yard, pool and hot tub!! The only thing I wish we had was a formal dining room. Maybe someday!! Off to get dressed, curl my hair, put on my makeup and have some tuna for breakfast. Everyone make it a good day!!

Good evening, Violets.. Well, Bob made it to church and everything went well. I said a lot of prayers that he would be ok for the service. We just got back from a special church service tonight that Bob preached at. He did a great job. I just love listening to him and I'm not just saying that cause I'm "the wife". The meeting after church was interesting. Everyone knows there is a problem, but nobody wants to confront it. Sooooo there will be a Town Hall meeting sometime soon so that everyone can get their say in. And so it goes. The pastor is going away next week to a career assessment seminar. Hopefully they will tell him he's not cut out to be a pastor. I could have told him that for free!!! Desperate Housewives is a repeat tonight.. darn. Guess I'll head to bed and read. I'm just about done with Breathless by Dean Koontz. I read Half Broke Horses before we left for the cruise and had read Glass Castles so really enjoyed it. Jane... Taylor Hicks sure didn't do much after AI, did he?? I watched a marathon of America's Next Top Model while I was babysitting Grady Saturday. One of the judges one episode was Clay Aiken... I LOVE that guy!!! Everyone have a good evening.. sleep well.. Ohhh.. there was a reception after the service tonight. They had sugar cookies the size of saucers along with other cookies, spice cake and bundt cake. I had zippo... Have not had any sweets since the cruise. I've hit the protein hard and cut back on carbs and still gained back one of the two pounds I lost when I was sick. Guess I really need to boost the exercise part of this journey.

Good morning, Violets.. Glad to have you home again, Michelle!!! We LOVED Mexico! PamELa.. that home is so far out of my league in size and price, I couldn't begin to give you an opinion!! It's a whole different world than here in my little house in the northwoods. I'm off to get ready for church, even though I really don't want to go. It's the big Annual Meeting and I just know nothing is going to happen and nothing is going to change and I'm going to have to stick it out till June and then be done. Bob got sick during the night, but has to preach today. He's taken some motion sickness pills and is feeling like he can make it. I was so hoping he didn't get what I got. It totally wiped me out for a day and a half. Everyone have a great day today. Will check back in later.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Just back home after watching Grady last night and today. He was great except he didn't want to take a nap this afternoon. I go back Monday night and spend the night and will come home Tuesday afternoon. Grady is actually being very good for not seeing his mommy and daddy for a week. I love it when he laughs and runs to me when I get there. Melts my heart every time. PamELa... I lost another 2# from not eating, but I'm sure that won't stay off long. I was so thrilled that I had lost 2# on the cruise knowing I ate less than my friend Kathy and I hardly used the elevator so I know I got more exercise than her. So someone explain to me WHY she lost 3# on the cruise???????? I just don't get it. It's very frustrating. She just keeps losing and losing and losing and she eats way more than I do and doesn't exercise. I'll keep plugging on to my goal of being at goal in May, but it sure don't understand why I can't lose like she does. Off to church to pick out the choir music for February and then do some grocery shopping. Everyone have a good evening. Michelle should be back Monday, I think. Hope she's having as good a time as we had.

112 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good evening, Violets.. Just got back from a beautiful wedding. It was a small one and started out with a sleigh ride out to view elk. The ride was beautiful. We met out at a great hall that is totally done in "up north" style. All wood, huge stone fireplace, just gorgeous. I played flute for the intro music and sang Ave Maria. Bob of course performed the ceremony. There were about 30 people total. It was the groom's 3rd marriage and the bride's 2nd. The dinner was out of this world. I had a few bites of each thing seeing as how I had not eaten anything since Wednesday night. First course was shrimp cocktail with a pear and apple crepe. Next was chicken soup, then salad, then crown roast of pork with red potatoes and then a delicious dessert made of cream cheese and powdered sugar with fruit compote and shaved white chocolate. The only thing I ate entirely was the cup of chicken soup. The rest I just had a couple of bites and called it good. I picked up Grady from his other gramma and brought him back home. He's sleeping now and I am going to hit the sack soon as he'll be up early tomorrow. I'll stay here till 3 and then head home to get some chores done before church tomorrow. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well!!

Good morning, Violets.. I think I am back in the land of the living. No solid food since 9:00 Wednesday night. Can't even think about food right now. Just sipping on my drink for the time being. I slept 22 hours from Wednesday to Thursday and 8 hours last night. Guess my body was trying to tell me something. Grady will be here today for the day. Then we have a wedding in the evening. Then I'll take him back home and spend the night and most of the day Saturday with him. Sunday afternoon I'll go back and will stay with him until Tuesday afternoon. Kris and Nathan come back Wednesday so then it will be just Ethan and me. Off to fix my hair and put on my makeup. Everyone have a good day!

Good evening, Violets.. What a bummer the last 24 hours has been. We went out to dinner after choir and Bob and I shared nachos. We got home and my head was pounding and I felt sick from it. Went to bed at 9:30 and by 11 I was in the bathroom trying to vomit. I haven't done that since getting the band and had forgotten how vile it is.. yuck. After getting rid of everything from both ends... sorry tmi... I went to bed and stayed there until 7 p.m. tonight. I haven't had a thing to eat in 24 hours, and just a little juice. I'm not hungry and have a little fever. Grady was sick Tuesday so I guess that's where I got it. Ethan is sick too. Not fun!!! Grady is coming over tomorrow morning for the day and then Bob and I have a wedding in the afternoon. Then we'll go back to Grady's house and stay there until Saturday afternoon. The other grandparents will take over until Sunday afternoon and then I'll be there with Grady and Ethan until Tuesday afternoon. Kris and Nathan are loving Hawaii. They are going whale watching right now. Can't wait to see all their pictures and videos. Off to try and do some laundry.... and have some hot chocolate. Everyone sleep well. I certainly hope I can after sleeping 24 hours straight..

Good morning, Violets.. Gramma is dragging this morning, but I'm up early to pick up Ethan and head to Grady's in a little bit. Great job on the eating, Jane!!!! How's the water intake? I'm still staying firm on the no sweets. Had a yogurt last night for a snack before bed. Ate a few bites of yogurt for breakfast, a lean cuisine for lunch and 3 chicken drumsticks and a biscuit for supper. Afternoon snack of blueberries and cream. Plus my 8 glasses of water. Everyone have a great day!!

Good evening, Violets.. I've been working on downloading my photos for an hour. Had to resize them all first so they would download faster on Webshots. 338 photos.. yikes!! Now I have to label them all. That will take some time too. Be patient.. I'll send a link when I'm done. Going to pick Ethan up at 7:15 a.m. and then head out to take care of Grady. Kris called and she made it safely to Hawaii. Temp there is 79. They are going snorkeling, sunbathing and shopping tomorrow. Must be nice!!! Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Grady is sleeping and Ethan is watching TV so I thought I'd try and get on here. The Bobster weighed in this morning and he gained 8# on the cruise. Now I REALLY feel good about how I did. He's trying to get back to the bandster rules after seeing what happened in just a week. I am still really motivated so we'll see how it goes. Grady is walking like a champ. He was sick to his stomach when I got here and threw up once more, but now is sleeping and seems to be better. I fell asleep on the couch for a little bit and awoke to hear Ethan yelling for me. He wanted me to see that he had gone to the potty all by himself and pooed! Now that is another major accomplishment!! Grady's other Gramma should be here in another hour or so and then Ethan and I will come home and he'll stay with me until his daddy gets off of work. Then I have rehearsal tonight at 7-9. We repeat the day again tomorrow. I'm guessing Ethan will stay with us again tonight unless Joe wants to bring him to my house early. We'll see. Hope everyone is having a great day. It's snowing here.. great big fluffy flakes. Just beautiful, though I would prefer to be in Cabo or Puerto Vallarta.

Good morning, Violets.. Well, I weighed in this morning and I lost 2# This is a major accomplishment. I usually gain 5-7# on a cruise. Now to try and keep up the pace. Off to babysit Grady. Kris should be on her flight to Hawaii right about now. They have dial up at their house, so don't know if I can get online or not. I'll be running after two little boys and that will be the priority for the week. Everyone have a great day. Will check in tonight if I can't make it in sometime today.

Good evening, Violets... ahhhhhh, finally got done reading all the posts. Sorry I missed Michelle, but she's going to have a great time, just like we did. And I ate like a real Bandster!!! On all other cruises I would have sweet bread for breakfast with eggs and bacon, cookies for snack at least 3-4 times a day, pastries and desserts after every dinner. This time I made it may goal to never eat as much as Kathy, our cruising buddy and the lady that has lost 93# with the band since Oct. of 08. Wellllll I had one sugar free cookie and 1/2 a regular cookie for the entire cruise. I never ate more than Kathy and for dessert most nights I had sherbet. I didn't snack in between meals and had only one piece of sweet bread for the whole cruise. I am weighing in tomorrow morning to see how I did. I just saw some pics on facebook that my friend took and I am very disappointed in how I look. The 17# I gained from my lowest weight sure show. BUT, I stayed good and I am going to be at goal for the wedding. Bob wants to go back to get a fill in February so I need to make that appointment. Just finished 3 loads of laundry and I need to head to bed. Ethan and I are going to take care of Grady tomorrow. I have tons of pics to post, but won't get to them until mid-week at the earliest. So glad to be back. I sure missed you all!! Everyone sleep well!

Good morning, Violets!!! I'm baaaaaaack... well, almost. We are in Detroit and will leave in an hour to head back home. It's a 5 hour trip so won't be online until late tonight. I have to get Ethan to spend the night tonight so we can both go out to babysit Grady tomorrow. Kris and Nathan fly out to Hawaii tomorrow. And the biggest news is... GRADY IS WALKING!!!! I can't wait to see him.. what a difference a week makes!! I haven't been able to read all the posts.. will do that when I get some time to sit at my own computer. We had an awesome time on the cruise. I highly recommend it to everyone. Great weather, great ship, great ports. I'm already thinking about next year's January cruise. Off to breakfast and then on the road again. Everyone have a great day!!!

Good morning, Violets. Last chance to post a note before we head out. Up at 4:30, I'm dressed and ready to go. Horrible snowstorm last night. 3-6 inches here in Detroit. Took us hours to get here, but I just checked and the flight out will be on time. Ate very, very well yesterday. Hard to snack when you're stuck in a car!! We are supposed to be in LA by 1 p.m. which would be 4 my time, so I'll be one pooped lady. Nothing on the schedule today except getting over the jet lag and checking out the town. Everyone have a great day. See you again on the 18th. And this time I mean it.. lol

Good morning, Violets.. I've been up since 6 and we leave at 9. Can you tell I'm excited???? Got my last load of laundry in and then just double checking everything before we leave. I'm going to be going through withdrawals not being able to check in with my Violets. I'll have tons of posts to go through when we get back. I'm not taking the flip this time, Haydee because a couple that we cruise with always takes videos and he makes us a DVD when we get back. Otherwise I'd have the flip with me for sure. Everyone have a great week and Michelle, I won't hear from you until you get back from your Mexican get away. waaaaaaaaaaaaa...:smile2: I'm going to really, really try to make this my first ever weight loss cruise. I vowed not to eat the cookies and the pastries and to exercise every day. I want to come back weighing less than today's weight. I'll let you know if I accomplish that. My head is back in the game and I CAN do it!! Love you all... will check in on the 18th!!

Good evening, Violets.. I'm back from choir and dinner was waiting for me. We had stuffed pork chops and fried potatoes. I had 5 slices of potato and 1/2 the pork chop. Just wasn't hungry. I'm going to have some blueberries with a little cream and call it a night. I'm getting up early tomorrow so I'll be able to post before I leave, but then it will be a quiet Teachlady until the 18th. I checked on flights out and it will be $277 for us. I'll get our tickets when we get back from the cruise. Everyone have a good night. Sleep well!! YEA MICHELLE!!! Keep doing what you're doing.
