Good evening,Violets.. So much for a lazy day. I did my hospital shift for 2 hours, came home, had lunch and then went to my meeting. We are planning the worship service for next Sunday. Our minister is doing a career assessment seminar and the sub is so creative. He's a former local actor and started up Alpena's year round professional theatre. Anyway, he had lots of ideas for the service. I'm singing some communion songs and he has the choir sitting on the floor of the sanctuary instead of up by the altar where they usually are. We had to remove the privacy rail on both sides of the church. What a job!!! It took Bob and I two hours to get it done. But everything is set up for Sunday. Now I just have to practice the music. MICHELLE!!!!!!!!! KUDOS ON THE -8#!!!! I'm so proud of you. Wish I could say I did the same, but only -3# for January. But no guilt here.. I did the best I could with eating, following the rules. Just can't seem to shake the pounds like I could when I first started this journey. I had 1/2 a Jimmy Dean D'lite breakfast sandwich this morning for breakfast, 1/2 cup tuna salad with raisins and soy nuts for lunch and 1 cup of chinese for supper. It was called Hawaii 5-0.. beef, chicken, shrimp, lobster and pork in a brown sauce with a pineapple ring. Very yummy and I have more than half in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. I had a snack pack pudding for dessert and will have some hot chocolate for snack in a little bit. That's it for the day. Just wish I had the energy for some exercise. I got my new Kindle today!!! It's way kewl and I can't wait to start reading on it tonight. No Ethan tomorrow, but Grady will be here for a bit. A singing rehearsal tomorrow evening and that's my day. Hope everyone had a good day today. Where is Haydee???

Good morning, Violets.. Another cold, yucky day here today. But at least it's not snowing. I have my hospital shift this morning and a meeting this afternoon. No Ethan today. Joe worked from 8:30 a.m. till 10 last night so they won't give him any hours today. At least he got some hours in. Off to get breakfast and finishing getting dressed. Everyone have a great day!!

Michael Jackson died?????!!!!! I'm anxious to see the DVD also. Everyone I've heard from that has seen it has been amazed at the talent. And you're right Michelle..nobody had guts enough to intervene and say enough!! I'm up early so I can head to church and get things ready for choir. I forsee a nap in my future today. Didn't sleep well last night for some reason. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Well, the last email picture showed you two with a SOLD sign, so I just assumed!! We are back from being out of town for the day. Got some shopping in. I now have a new suitcase for Texas. Started looking at dresses, but not finding anything right now. We had lunch at Ponderosa. I had a salad, one chicken drumstick and a couple of bites of stuffing with gravy. No dessert.. Bob said I didn't eat enough, but I was full. Not even hungry for supper. I got some blueberries and I know I'll have those for a treat this evening.

Good morning, Violets.. PamELA!!!! You bought the house???? EXCELLENT!!! It looks just beautiful. Is it the original house you were looking at?? We need details ... # of rooms, square footage, depth of pool, how many Violets it can accommodate at one time! We are heading out of town for the day. Everyone make it a good one. Will check back in tonight..

Where are Meeeeechelle, my belle and PamELa today???? Ethan just went home. I'm off to get a new passport. Mine expires in April... I too love the feel of books, but the Kindle has that same feel to me. Only difference is the price of books and clicking pages instead of turning them. No need for bookmarks, the Kindle remembers the last page you read. I got the leather cover so it has even more of a book feel to it. I saw lots of Kindles on the cruise. Sure is better than carrying a bunch of books around. And you can store the books in an online library. You can delete them and then reload them whenever you wish. I know I have read more in the last few months than I have in years. That right there is worth the price to me.

I have the Flip Ultra.. it's a great little camcorder for short videos. Easy to carry, easy to download and very easy to email videos. There is now a Mino and a Mino HD.. more bells and whistles and longer videos. Kris and Nathan used mine for awhile until they got a regular camcorder. I have lots of videos of the grandkids saved on the puter. Just go to theflip.com and you can read all about it.

My new Kindle comes Monday!!! The Bobster said he was going to get one for me for Valentine's Day, but I beat him to the punch. Now I'll have to get my books off of his Kindle and onto mine. Laura... Grady is finally, finally sleeping through the night again. He goes to bed at 9:30 and sleeps until 8:30. He never woke up crying any of the 10 days that his Grammas had him, THANK GOD!!! Naptime is a whole different ballgame, though. He won't lay in his crip for nuthin. I always laid on the couch with him and that way he would sleep and Gramma could close her eyes for a bit too! I tried to put him in the crib for a nap once that was a huge mistake. Live and learn!! Nathan goes back to work today, so Kris will have the little "cling-on" all day by herself again. Joe got called into work, thank goodness, and I'll have Ethan for the afternoon. I can handle one at a time, especially if that one is finally potty trained.

Gooooood morning, Violets.. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 5 degrees out there right now, but at least we aren't getting hit with the ice that the southern plains are. No plans today except relaxing and catching up on some housework. Nothing that demands my attention for very long. I'm going to go look at getting my own Kindle. It's getting harder and harder to share the one we have. I started reading The Story of Edgar Sawtell and am enjoying it so far. But Bob wants to read at night at the same time I do. He's been listening to books on his Zune, but misses his Kindle. I'm finishing a piece of toast with p'nut butter and calling that breakfast. I'm still eating the bandster way and hope I show a weight loss on Sunday when I weigh in. I know I can't eat less than I do without going into starvation mode!!! Going to get some exercise in today too. Kris says Grady has been very clingy since they got back home. Welllll, duh!! He missed mommy and daddy for 10 days!! He also has another molar coming in. That kid has more teeth at his age than I thought possible!! This will be his 10th tooth! Off to check out Kindles... Everyone have a great day!!!

LMAO, Michelle!!!!

PamELA... it wasn't Ethan, it was Grady. Well, actually there were days when I had both of them for the day. And yup.. it wore me out. But I'm so thrilled that I can be close enough to be able to help out like I do. I also am loving my alone time today. Just finishing up some blueberries and cream while the first load of laundry "cooks". I have neglected my journal for a few days so need to get back to that. And for the record.. you could never be boring, PamELa.. not in a gazillion years!!

Good morning, Violets.. 10 degrees here this morning.. brrrrrrrr!! I went to bed early last night and read a bit, before falling asleep around 10. Got up at 8:30 this morning. This was one pooped Gramma. But nothing on the agenda today except flute rehearsal tonight at 6:30. No babysitting, no traveling, no nuttin. Janie.. I ran out of my MIL's perfume that I loved and found it on Ebay. You never know what you can find there! Bob has a meeting out of town this morning, so I'm on my own. Time to get some things done around the house now that I'm here for a bit. Also going to get plane tickets!! Off to find something for breakfast. I finished the last of the tuna yesterday.

After months of rampant speculation, Apple Wednesday announced a touchscreen tablet computer, the "iPad" for consumers who want to take their movies, TV shows, music, games and reading with them, be it around the house or on the go. Pricing starts at $499, and it should be available in 60 to 90 days.

Good afternoon, Violets... Well, Gramma is back home and Grady's mommy and daddy are back with him. He was kinda stunned when they walked in the door. He kept looking from one to the other, back and forth. Too cute!!! I brought Ethan back to his daddy and now I'm just relaxing a bit before Choir rehearsal tonight. Kris brought me a pretty Pandora bead from Hawaii and brought Bob a Hawaiian shirt. I would love to go back there someday. I think I might have a morning off tomorrow. Joe hasn't had any work all week and if he doesn't tomorrow, then Ethan will stay with him and I'll have all day to get this house back in order and do some grocery shopping. I've been doing great on my eating except for a little slip up yesterday. I had a Klondike bar at Kris's. First ice cream in weeks and weeks. Last one for months and months!!! I've been looking at dresses for May. Never too early to start the quest!! Off to choir and then dinner with the Bobster and friends. Everyone have a good evening. Michelle.. loved the pics!!! Heather...great stats!! I wish I was a successful with the band as you have been. But I'll get there one day.... hopefully by May 15th!!

Good morning, Violets.. I'm here with Grady for my next to the last day. Will be staying here until tomorrow afternoon when the kids should be back. I hope I can be here when they arrive. I have choir rehearsal at 6, it's a 35 minute drive back to Alpena and their flight arrives in Detroit 10 10:20 and it's a 5 hour drive back home for them. Got my fingers crossed that the timing works out ok. I really want to see Grady's reaction when he sees them for the first time in 10 days. Janie... sorry your meds didn't do the trick. I would be mad too.Hope you feel better today. Thanks for the heads up on Rosie on Oprah. I knew she was going to be on because I read her blog every day, but just hadn't turned the tv on all day. I got to watch the last part of the interview. Yup.. I'm a Rosie fan. Lucy the St. Bernard here is feeling sad. Her brother Baxter went home with Grady's other grandparents. He has infected ears and they are taking him to the vet. Lucy was lost without her little buddy last night.. kept whining and looking for him. She's laying in my bed right now. Good thing she's cuddly for being over 100#! Off to get things in order before Grady wakes up. He should be stirring any minute now. Everyone have a great day! Will check in when I can.
