Good morning, Violets.. The service last night was very relaxing and comforting. Now it's another day and I'm off to my hospital shift and then Ethan comes at noon for the afternoon. 15 degrees here and cloudy. Don't know if there is snow in the forecast or not. Hope you manage to avoid anymore new snow, Michelle!! Glad to hear Mo is doing better. I'm going to make the cheesecake for Bob today. He's never had it and we are both giving up sweets and most carbs for Lent. I was doing great for awhile and then drifted back into a mini candy bar here and there.. grrrrrrrr Everyone have a great day.. will check in when I get a chance later.

Good morning, Violets... HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!! I spent a nice day with my Valentine yesterday. Drove 2.5 hours to the hospital so he could make a call. Shopped at Babies R Us for a couple of gifts, Bed Bath and Beyond for stuff for moi and then had a nice dinner at a Chinese buffet. 2.5 hours home.. watched a little Olympics and off to bed. Today is church, directing the choir and singing a solo, a baked potato bar luncheon to raise funds for Haiti afterwards and then a Taize service tonight sponsored by our church. I'm playing flute and singing. I'll be ready to chill out tonight. Hope everyone has a great day today!!

Good evening, Violets.. Ahhhh peace and quiet. Grandkids are gone and it's just the Bobster and me here. We are headed out of town tomorrow.. he has someone in the hospital to visit and I'm going along for the ride and some shopping. It's a 3 hour drive so I'm taking my Kindle with me. Laura.. I read about the shooting at the University.. female faculty member didn't get the tenure she thought she deserved. Totally wacko. Michelle..I understand how you feel about Mo. We get so attached to these little ones. Sure hope this round of roto rootering does the trick for him. Off to do some more glider exercise while I watch the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. I got 10 minutes in today already. It's amazing how fast the 10 minutes go. And they say 10 minutes 3X is as helpful as 30 minutes 1X. Let's hope they're right! Everyone have a great evening....Sleep well.

Good morning, Violets.. Keeping my fingers toes and eyes crossed for you PamELa!!! I'm sure you will be approved and you'll be in the new place before you know it! 3 cars?? You have 3 cars??? We have 2 and sometimes only 1 because Joe uses it when his car isn't running which is like right now. It's supposed to be fixed today and I'll get my car back. Your weather sounds lovely. It's 18 here and the highs for this weekend will be 28. Such a difference, eh? I started going back to my "gym" yesterday. I decided to do my glider in 10 minute blocks. That way I can do it while Ethan is here and have no excuse not to. I did 20 minutes yesterday and hope to get 30 in today. With my knee and shoulder issues, walking is not possible right now. The glider is no impact so that works for me. We shall see. I'm going to a church ladies luncheon today. Should be interesting. The pastor's wife will be there... ugh. After that Ethan will be here and Grady comes for an hour later. So you see my day is pretty much planned! Everyone have a good one. Michelle... were you able to get out and about and get Mo taken care of??? Haydeeeeeee...where are you??????

Chili is made and already had a bowl for dinner. Just waiting until I can drink the rest of my juice. PamELa.. how far away from your present house is your new one?? I didn't realize you were moving so soon. Off to get ready to leave to go toot my flute. BBL...

Jane...I babysit Ethan when his mom works. Her ours are different every week and every day. Today is 8-2.. tomorrow is 1-5. I babysit Grady when his mom needs to do something special so I never know when to expect that. Tomorrow he comes over at 4 for an hour. Yup.. I'm enjoying being a Gramma. Ethan is so easy to take care of now. He loves to watch cartoons, read books with Gramma and play his video games. He's pretty much all potty trained now. I didn't think that day was ever coming!! Ethan and I had tuna and soy nuts for breakfast. He has Gramma's taste in breakfast food...lol I had a couple of venison sausage sticks and a cube of cheese for lunch. Chili for supper tonight. Off to check out email and Facebook..

Good morning, Violets.. Up early today to wait for Ethan to arrive. He'll be here for the day and then I have flute rehearsal tonight. Other than that, a pretty lazy day. We're going to go out and have some playing in the snow today. I'm looking at a bright red cardinal right now at the bird feeder. I can't believe how bright he looks next to the white snow. Pretty, pretty. A little chilly this morning.. 11 degrees. We really have been neglecting the hot tub lately.. just too chicken to go out in the cold to get in it, but I think we might try tonight if we get a patch shoveled out to it. Off to get some breakfast and greet the little guy. Everyone have a great day!!

I think I found my dress for the wedding!!! Only problem... it's not purple.. :rolleyes2: But maybe I can find a special purple outfit for the other wedding celebrations, besides the actual wedding, I mean. Am I rambling??

Global warming is a fact. It does not mean just warm weather... it means that it affects the weather pattern and the jet stream. We can see that in all the strange weather happening around the world now. We are getting our second snow of the season today. I just got done snowblowing the driveway. That's only the second time the snow blower has been out this winter and that's REALLY not the norm. I got to the bank and then sent my ring back to Hawaii to be fixed. $35 to send insure and send it!!! YIKES! At least they fix it for free with their lifetime guarantee. One of the prongs broke and a diamond chip fell out. Laura... good for you getting back to myplate and monitoring your food intake. I'm sitting here eating my brunch of tuna, soy nuts and mandarin oranges. Sound familiar?? Hope everyone is having a good day. Where is Heather???

Good Morning, Violets.. Well, looks like we got about 4 inches of snow last night and it's still snowing. So much for just an inch. Bob left to go to work at his church. Hope the roads are plowed for him! Not much on the agenda today. I need to go to the bank and UPS and then just regular household chores now that I'm by myself all day. Everyone make it a good one!!

Good evening, Violets.. Got my tax info organized so now we can call and make an appointment with our accountant. Lots of snow warnings, but they are all to the south of us. We are only supposed to get an inch or two. Southern Michigan should get up to 9 inches. Can't believe how the storms are missing us. That just never happens. I have a singing rehearsal tonight. We are meeting at a retirement home to practice so they can listen to us since most of them can't get out when we have our concerts. We are also looking for new concert wear. One of the ladies picked out a few things and they were pretty scary. I went online and found some really lovely blouses so I hope we can agree on something. My flute quartet also want's a new outfit so there is more money for clothes!! At least I don't have to look for the very biggest sizes anymore, but I still have to be careful of buttons and seams and all that good stuff. Michelle... YIKES!!! Big bucks for a little cat. But you do what you have to do.. they are so much like children to us, aren't they?? My friend who passed away last Nov. spent $10,000 on her cat...I can't believe how much she did for that cat, but she didn't have any children and she loved her cats!! Off to rehearsal. Will check in when I get back.

Good morning, Violets.. It's a cloudy day out there today with an inch of snow predicted for us. How does that sound to you, Michelle???? Hope you get some good news on Mo today. Janie.. you have a good day today and know we all love you and support you!! Grady will be here in a couple of hours and that's it for me today until singing rehearsal tonight at 7. I need to get my tax stuff together for our accountant and get my ring sent back to Hawaii to be repaired. Good thing there is a lifetime guarantee. The prong broke and I lost a diamond chip. Off to find some breakfast and get ready for the boy child to arrive. Everyone make it a good day today!!!

Janie... we are all struggling with this weight journey. I do every single day. I have been at a stall for well over a year now. And I see my friend Kathy losing steadily 1-2-3# a week and I eat less than she does. It sure does do a number on my head and makes me want to say the heck with it. I try so hard and it doesn't work. But then I think of all of you and I know we're supporting each other and we're in it together for the long haul. I'm so glad you contacted your doctor and she gave you the name of the other doctor. At least you are being proactive and still searching and haven't given up. That's what it's all about. None of us has given up.. no matter what, we keep on keeping on and it's so great to come in here every day and stay in touch with each other through the good times and bad. Hang in there... EVERYONE hang in there!!!! We all lean on each other and support each other. That's what it means to be a Violet!!!!
