72 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good afternoon,Violets. Ethan just went home with daddy. Jen is home. The psychiatrist that talked to her today said she didn't need to be back in the mental ward. She put her on Celexa and said the drugs they tried to give her after her last episode were incorrect. Both Bob and I have been to this psychiatrist before and we really trust her. She did well by both of us. So my fingers are crossed. There will be ongoing counseling and follow up. Jen has tomorrow and Friday off and then will be back to work on Monday, so I won't have Ethan again until then. So now it's off to choir and then home to watch Modern Family while I exercise. Hope everyone is having a good day. Sure is quiet in here.

73 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. Ethan slept for 12 hours last night! We just got done with his bath and he's all dressed and ready for the day. Joe will be over later to pick him up. If Jen is well enough to be released from the hospital and transferred to the mental facility, then Joe will not be able to see her except for specific times. If she isn't transferred today, then he will have more time with her. I'm so glad yesterday is over and it's a new day today. All I have today is babysitting and choir. Hugs to everyone and make it a good day.

Good evening, Violets.. Joe talked to Jen's boss and she has the rest of the week off, thank goodness. Jen is an asst. manager at Big Lots. She's been a very good employee and they have been very tolerant of her "episodes". Michelle.. you are so right. We are in control of our eating. Everything else has a life of it's own, doesn't it? Food report for today.. B.. De-Light turkey sausage, egg, cheese, muffin sandwich. I ate 3 bites and was so tight from stress, I couldn't eat any more L...1 piece of Tilapia S... 1 slice toast with peanut butter D...1 chicken cheese quesadilla S..1 hot chocolate S..4 ginger snaps.. but thank goodness for the band.. I pb'd them all. I think I'm done eating for the day. Going to keep drinking my water (white peach/cranberry). I just don't think anything else will stay down at this point. Ethan is sound asleep on the couch. He's been such a good boy today. We read and read and read. This kid is going to know his Nursery Rhymes when he starts school! Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well. Knowing Jen's job is safe and she's where she needs to be will help me to sleep tonight.

Jen is in the hospital overnight and Joe signed the commitment papers so she will be admitted tomorrow morning into that facility. She had been prescribed meds for depression after her last bout, but discontinued them as they were costing $300 a month and they had no insurance. And we wonder why we need health care reforms. Steven was not taken away. Both she and Steven have to undergo counseling separately and then together. As we told Joe, this might be the best thing to come out of this whole situation. Just to get everyone some help. As of this month they now have insurance and if she doesn't lose her job over this, they should be able to keep up with the meds.

Heather, our son Joe married Jen against our better judgment, but you know how that always goes. She already had 2 sons by different fathers. One lives downstate with his dad and is doing very well. Steven lives with Jen and is now 13 and you know what teenagers are like. He is a smart kid, but is in with the wrong crowd and doing very poorly in school. Couple that with a mother who is unstable and the combination was bound to explode sooner or later. The last time she had problems and was admitted to the mental hospital it was because of a blow up about Steven's grades. This time it was about Steven also. I don't know what happened, but the argument between the two of them escalated and became physical. His father took him to the UP and heard the whole story, so when they got home they went to the police. The police came out last night and said though what she did was wrong they understood about teen age boys. Apparently CPS is taking Steven out of the home and that's why she took the pills. I love Ethan to death, but I just don't want to have to raise him... but I will do what I have to do. Jen's dad died in a motorcycle/deer accident several years ago and Joe promised him on his deathbed that he would take care of Jen. Therein lies the problem. Joe loves her, but is at his limit with her behavior. This is all going to be very bad with her job, their finances and the children. I'm just overwhelmed. Sorry this is so long, but it helps to just write it out.

Violets.. Please send extra prayers out. They just took Jen to the hospital by ambulance after she ingested sleeping pills. Luckily she called Joe to tell him. Bob went over there and called the ambulance. She was conscious, breathing, but 90% incoherent.. Joe is on his way back from work a half hour away and I have Ethan. We can't handle any of this anymore. She needs to get professional help or Joe needs to take Ethan and leave her. Either way it's going to be a long haul and I think I will have a grandson to raise totally.

74 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. It sounds like today is a day for praying. Add my family to the list. Ethan's mom is being investigated by Child Protective Services for hitting her teen age son with a belt. Steven reported her so of course they are following through. Steven is a handful and Jen is unstable. So it's a no win situation. I have Ethan early today so he wasn't in the middle of everything. I will be keeping you all in my prayers. It seems to be a very trying time for everyone. We have to be strong for those going through all the difficulties. And we have to keep ourselves strong and on the right path with our eating. Don't let this be an excuse, k? Love you all..

Certainly will, Laura. So sad about Andrew Koenig and Marie Osmond's son. Depression can happen to anyone at any time.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Ethan just went home and the bobster and I are having some homemade soup. I put some cayenne pepper in and it has quite a kick, but it's good. Food report for today... B...few bites of tuna.. wasn't hungry B...a little later 1 cup cherrios with 1/2 banana S...1/2 banana L...1/2 cup moo shu pork S....3 ginger snaps.. (I caved) S....several cashews D...1 cup hamburger/veggie soup S...when I get home from rehearsal..blueberries and cream I haven't done my gliding yet, but plan on doing 30 minutes before I go to bed. Janie..keep smilin'!!! Don't sweat the small stuff. Everyone have a good evening.. 4 days till KEYS DAY, PamELa!!!

75 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. 20 degrees here right now, but supposed to get up to 35 so snow is going to start to melt. Ethan arrives at 8 and I have my hospital shift today and Community chorus tonight. Well, I weighed in this morning and have not lost anything. I am up 1# from the 3#I lost since Ash Wednesday almost 2 weeks ago. This is such a long, slow process for me for some reason. I have had no sweets except my one cup of hot chocolate a day and minimal carbs. I have exercised for 30 minutes every day except 3 out of the last 11 days. So this is the frustration. I'm following the bandster rules... but it's not rewarding me! I'm discouraged, but not giving up or giving in. Off to have my tuna, nuts and oranges for breakfast. Everyone have a great day! Good evening, Violets.. Had a nice day today. Went to church and was sad to see only 60 people in the congregation when 120 used to be the average. Went to Walmart afterwards and got Bob a new coffee maker.. a Keurig with the pods. He loves it. He ordered me some hot chocolate for it, so I love it too! I took a long nap today and am charged up again for the week. We went out to eat for dinner. I'm going to glide during Desperate Housewives tonight. Food report.. B...tuna, nuts, oranges L...stuffed chicken breast, squash D...moo shu pork (without the pancakes)... I have enough left for 4 more meals!!! Good morning, Violets.. You're right about the Cadbury mini-eggs. They happen to be my all time favorite candy and I didn't even say a word to Kris about them. I avoided them all evening. I sure am glad I don't have any kids to make Easter baskets for anymore!! Carson is on his way, Laura!! Grady started walking the first part of February and he hasn't stopped. It just seems so strange to see him walk into a room when he was crawling in just a few months ago. I'm going to try and post some flip videos on Facebook. The last time I tried it wouldn't take it. Not sure why. I'm finishing up my tuna,nuts and oranges and then heading to church. Nothing on the agenda today except some reading and maybe a nap. Everyone have a good day! the birthday boy!!

Good evening, Violets.. I'm back from the big birthday party. It was lots of fun. Grady was so cute chowing down on his cake. I'm getting ready to post pictures in Facebook. I was able to avoid the cake totally. Food report for today.. B...zippo L....stuffed chicken breast D...1 small slice ham, 1/4 cup squash, 1/2 cup settler's beans, 1 deviled egg, several olives S...1/2 cup squash, several cashews 1 cup hot chocolate I'll finish up with an orange in a few minutes. Everyone have a great evening.. sleep well.

Janie.. I would love to have you meet Nathan. He is 6'11". You would come up to his knee cap!! I come up to his belly.. lol

Good afternoon, Violets.. Kind of a lazy day here today. Kris called this morning to make sure she had enough food and I offered to make............butternut squash!! You got me thinking about it, Janie!! Just got it whipped up with butter, salt and pepper. I know what I'll be eating instead of cake. I forgot to say what the biggest temptation was yesterday. When the group went to play video games, I stayed in the room all by myself to read my book. It was me and the leftover cake. It kept calling my name, but I kept ignoring it. Hope I can do the same today. So far for eating today I've had a chicken breast stuffed with broccoli and cheese from Schwans. No breakfast.. I didn't have any tuna ready. We are heading out in an hour. I'll be taking the camera and the flip. I can't believe the little guy is going to be a year old already. He's such a little boy now instead of a little baby. 77 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good evening, Violets... We're back from Great Wolf Lodge. Had a super time, but would have loved to have tubed down the Lazy River more. Ethan didn't think that was a whole lot of fun. He liked the kiddie slide more and of course the water is only knee deep there so I just sat on the edge and dangled my toes in the water. I didn't get much exercise in, but I sure did well on the eating!! Jami had a huge cake for Everett's 10th birthday. It was 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 white with the whipped frosting that is so yummy. Well.. I didn't have any .. not a single bite or even a finger stuck in the frosting. And after we went swimming, we went to the cafe for ice cream. Jami and family ordered a huge sundae to share with their family on one side of me, Ethan had a single hot fudge sundae and Kris and Nathan had a chocolate fondue on the other side of me. I had .......nothing.... nada. It was a little awkward sitting there watching eveyone eat, but I made a promise! So we'll see how the scale reads on Sunday. Tomorrow is Grady's first birthday party and Kris has a huge cake, but I already told her I wasn't having any. I might take an orange with me so I don't sit there drooling. I finished 120 pages in my Stephen King book. It's soooooooooo good. Heather, if you like Stephen King, you'll love this one. I shook my head on every page at the beginning. When you read it, you'll understand why. Off to watch some Olympics and then read some more. Everyone have a great weekend!!
