55 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!
-
Good evening, Violets.. The concert was a success. Only one song got a little messed up at the end, but we laughed and everyone enjoyed everything. I'm off with DD Kris in the morning for some retail therapy in Saginaw three hours away. Everyone have a good day. I'll check in to update the countdown and then be on my way. Sleep well, my lovelies!!!

56 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning,Violets.. Busy day yesterday.. I had a flute rehearsal for two hours in the morning, then folded the bulletins for church. Took care of Ethan until 2 in the afternoon and then worked on the program for our flute concert. Took a few hours, but finally got it looking good, printed and folded. Our singing concert is tonight and I'm a little nervous. Our "leader" keeps telling us everything we are doing wrong and that's not giving us much confidence at this point. If I didn't have so much money invested in our new outfits, I'd say it was time for me to bow out. When it becomes more of a job than a pleasure, then it's time to quit. Ethan comes in a little bit for the day. The Bobster has my cold now, so he's sniffling and moping about. And snow is expected this weekend... arghhhhhhhhhh Michelle.....have a safe trip. Hugs and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time. Everyone make it a good day. Will try and check back later.

Good morning, Violets.. Another beautiful day out there today. We're supposed to get up to the lower 60's today. Time for another trike ride! I have choir and a Lenten service tonight. I'm playing a couple of Irish pieces on the flute and then directing the choir in a piece. Tomorrow starts the busy-ness. I have Ethan (finally!) for the day, plus a flute rehearsal. Friday I have Ethan again and our New Day Singers concert. Sunday is our Wind Song Flute quartet concert. Next week, I'll be able to breathe a little easier. Nathan, Kris and Grady got back from a week in Florida yesterday. I'm anxious to see my little guy. Hope everyone has a good day today. Happy St. Patty's to you all!!

Good morning, Violets.. Well, it's still morning here for 5 more minutes. Been busy installing programs on the new desk top pc and then balancing the bank statement. I couldn't figure out why I was $780 off, but then found out a page of the statement slipped on the floor when it came out of the printer. whew. All balanced now. I've got the spinach/cheese souffle leftovers in the oven for lunch. We love spinach pie and this is just about the same thing without the carbs of the phyllo dough. I see what you mean now about the sugar question. I don't ask why, I just follow the directions!! Our goldfinches have returned to the feeders so I need to go out today and get some finch seed just for them. We have NO snow at all anywhere and that is just unbelievable for this time of year. Bob did poop detail and got the back yard free of logs. We've been using the hot tub again and it feels great. I'm going to go out triking again today at 3. Our last singing rehearsal before our concert is tonight... it's going to be a long, stressful rehearsal because we have a very picky "leader". She nails us on everything from breathing to elongating vowels. Arghhhh.. I just want to sing!! Flute quartet has a concert on Sunday so it's going to be a busy weekend for me. I'm also going to travel to Bob's church Sunday for services. Our choir here has the Sunday off so I'm going to go and hear a GOOD sermon for a change!! Off to get the souffle out of the oven and have lunch with the Bobster. Everyone make it a good day!

I would think any sugar substitute would do. This was a recipe from the bariatrics eating site and my support group was asking for recipes. Thought I'd try this one and it was sooooo good!

Good evening, Violets.. Just a quick post before I head to bed. I posted a recipe on the recipe thread. We had it for dinner tonight and it was DELISH!! I have enough for lunch tomorrow. Michelle.. lovely gesture by your DH. Glad you have Hospice involved. I rode an hour on the terra trike today and then we spent a half hour in the hot tub. I'm off to read some more in the Stephen King book. I've read almost 400 pages and am not even 1/2 way through, but it sure is a good read. Laura.. so sorry to hear about Carson, you and Russell. Hope you all feel better soon. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

We had this tonight and it is sooooooooo good!! And only 113 calories per serving! Spinach cheese Souffle This is a beautiful way to eat your veggies and still satisfy the need for protein! I've added cooked, chopped turkey bacon to this also, and any variety of cheese I happen to have on hand. For a brunch, lunch, or light dinner it's perfect served with a fresh fruit salad and whole wheat English muffins for the family. Vegetable cooking spray 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup minced onion 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon Splenda One 10 ounce pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry 6 eggs 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese 3/4 cup milk 1 tablespoon flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg Pinch cayenne pepper 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9-inch baking pan with vegetable cooking spray and set aside. In a frying pan over medium heat melt butter and saute the onion, garlic, and Splenda until golden and soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in spinach and heat through. In a large bowl beat together the eggs, cottage cheese, milk, flour, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cayenne. Stir in the onion-spinach mixture and the parmesan and cheddar cheeses. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until just set in the middle. Makes 8 servings. Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm back from church and now going to take a nap. it's cloudy and windy out, but 43 degrees and almost all of the snow is gone from the ground. Now we have to keep our fingers crossed that we don't get one more snow storm before late April. Janie... Stone Soup comes from a fable. Some travelers came into a village and they wanted something to eat but all of the villagers said they didn't have enough to share. So the travelers started a pot of soup with some water and a stone. One by one, the villagers thought they could add something to the soup to make it more tasty and by the time everyone had added their ingredient, it was a meal to share. Today we collect money for One Great Hour of Sharing.. a special collection for people in need around the world. We in our church each bring an ingredient and we make our own Stone Soup. There is an actual stone that is used that belonged to the lady from our church who thought up the idea. She has since passed on, but we think of her every year at Stone Soup Sunday. And you're welcome for the Estelle Parsons info. I don't read those tabloids for nuthin'!! I'm off to dreamland and then poop patrol in the backyard to pick up all the gifts Jetta has left us this winter!

Take lots of pics when you get things moved into the new house. Michelle... special hugs for you today. Laura.. hope you're feeling better real soon! Everyone else, Janie, Haydee, Suzy, Heather... have a good day..

Michelle... so sorry to hear your news. Hospice will be a blessing for your mil and fil. They were wonderful with my Dad. I can certainly understand your mil's decision not to do the chemo considering how you described her condition. I know this is a very difficult time for you all. Know that even though I am not there in person, you have my love and prayers with you at all times.

Good afternoon, Violets... Michelle.. my Lenten promise fell by the wayside this week also. BUT I have new motivation. Kathy, my friend who had lapband also, told her weight today and she weighs exactly the same as I do...so the WAR is on!!! I WILL weigh less than her!! I'd been guessing what she weighed and though she weighed less than I do. At breakfast this morning, she had 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast and some hash browns. I had 2 eggs, 1 piece of toast and no potatoes. The battle begins! We had support group today and there were only 6 of us there. The weather is yucky and must have kept people away. We usually have 12 - 15 in attendance. Bob has FINALLY decided he needs to call and make an appointment to see the doc to decide if he needs another fill. I might even have a teeny one put in when we go. Janie.. Estelle Parsons used to be on the Today show long ago and she got an oscar for best supporting actress in Bonny and Clyde. I loved her on Rosanne. Actually LOVED that show and watch the reruns whenever I can. Off to do some laundry and wait for my new puter to arrive. Everyone have a good weekend!!

Good morning, Violets.. It's a cloudy, misty day here today. Temp is 39. I had hoped to get out on my Trykke, but that's not going to happen. I'm feeling lots better, the cough is almost gone and I can breathe again. Thank goodness I'll be healthy for the two concerts next week. Our Wind Song flute quartet is also going to be playing background music at the Wedding Expo next Saturday. It will be a dress rehearsal for our concert on Sunday afternoon. Nothing on the agenda today except a church ladies luncheon in a half hour. I'm going to get the ingredients for spaghetti sauce and we'll have spaghetti for supper. We haven't had that in ages.. I figure I can have a lot of sauce and a little spaghetti. Michelle... you're in my thoughts all the time. Continued prayers for you and your family. Hope everyone has a good Friday and a relaxing weekend. Bob is going out of town for a meeting tomorrow so I'm on my own. My new desktop computer is supposed to arrive tomorrow so that will be something to look forward to.

Good morning, Violets.. I was up at 6 this morning with my mind racing and my nose running, so I got up, took a nasal decongestant, got on the computer for a little bit and then went back to bed and slept for another 2 hours. I'm ready to face the day today. I have a hair appointment at 12:45, friends coming at 6 for a wedding planning appointment with Bob and then Wind Song rehearsal at 6:30. I need to get the house spic and span in between things. Michelle.....so sorry to hear things are not going well. Keeping you and the family in my prayers today.
