Good afternoon, Violets.. Sad to say, my knee is reverting back to how it was...though only slightly now. I sure hope I can make it for awhile before something else has to be done. It's 72 here and BEAUTIFUL out! Bob just went to get some McDonald's for lunch and then Ethan and I are going out to mulch and blow bubbles. Guess which one I'll be doing! Got my flute rehearsal done and now I'm done for the rest of the day until we take dinner to some friends tonight. We have a bbq place in town that has a family platter of 1# of pulled pork, 1# brisket, 1# polish sausage, 1/2# chicken, mac and cheese, cole slaw, beans and garlic bread. Much better for me to get that instead of worrying about cooking tonight. Off to have some lunch and get to work. Everyone have a great day!

Good morning, Violets.. I'm off to get my knee x-rayed. It's doing very well right now and hope the cortisone shot holds till at least June. As for influencing the sex of a child. ..(that doesn't sound quite right).. I think I've told you the story of how I pickled myself trying to have a girl. Thankfully it worked and I got Kris after having 2 boys. Everyone have a great day. Will check in later. Janie.. keeping your family in my prayers.

Good morning, Violets.. Kind of a dreary day out there today. But looking up for the next few days temperature wise. I have a luncheon at noon today and have to leave a bit early to take care of my little guy, Grady while Kris has her teeth cleaned. I've got a ton of Morning glory seeds to plant today in starter cubes. Usually I plant them outside, but I'm going to try and start them inside so they have a better chance of survival if the weather turns cold again. Usually we don't plant much around these parts until Memorial Day. And btw Janie... Bob is a Memorial Day baby. May 30. We'll be in Canada on his birthday this year and will celebrate it with the two other couples who are going with us. My weight was up 2# today, but BP was reading good numbers. We went out to dinner with my friend Kathy and she has lost 100# now. And last night I ate 3/4 bowl of french onion soup and two cheeseburger sliders, minus most of the bread. SHE had 3 pieces of fried fish, french fries and several bites from her husband's meal plus she drank a diet coke with her meal. Now explain to me how she can lose that much weight with all she eats and I struggle for a pound eating 1/2 of what she does!!!! arghhhhhhhhh The only bright spot is someone asked me yesterday if I was losing weight again, because it looked that way. I could have kissed her!!!! Off to figure out something for breakfast and then get dressed for the day. Everyone make it a good one!!!!

Good morning, Violets... well, its morning here for a couple more minutes. I'm back from my hospital shift and now waiting for my hair appointment at 1:30. Then a church board meeting tonight and dinner with friends afterwards. We had a 3 hour Town Hall meeting yesterday to discuss the health of the church. I can't tell you how much this wears on me,but I think you know. I can't even talk about it anymore, it's so frustrating. Bob is at the docs right now for his checkup.. not the LB doc, our family doc. It will be interesting to see how he fares today. He's really depressed about hitting the big 65 next month. It is a beautiful day here, thank goodness. Michelle... Kris has some of Bob's mom's jewelry. I have the stone from my mom's wedding ring as the main stone for my ring. That's a part of her that is always with me. My knee is feeling sooooo much better and with the water pill, I lost another pound and my BP is back under control. It's a whole new world out there!!! We all have so much to look forward to in the next month. Can't wait!! Off to get lunch ready and then clean, clean, clean!!! Everyone make it a good one!!

Good morning, Violets.. I got one of those invites too Janie!!! Woo hoooo!!! Up early this morning. I didn't sleep well. BIG meeting after church today to discuss the health of the church. I'm not looking forward to this at all. I'm back on blood pressure meds and they seem to be working so guess I'll have to continue them. I took myself off after getting my band as the bp went down. Guess with everything else going on, it started creeping back up and was high when I went in for my knee. Speaking of that.. boy,does it feel good. Just wish I had been braver sooner and would have felt relief sooner. Hopefully it will continue to feel good through May! The only side effect of the cortisone is the hot flashes. Last night my face was so red it looked like I was running a fever. It's better today, but never know when it will flare up again. Hope everyone has a great day. I'll be so glad when church and the meeting is over. Well, I'll be glad if things turn out the way I'm hoping.

PAMELA!!! How RUDE of them to do that without asking!! Even if you think you're doing someone a favor, you ASK first!!! I don't blame you for being so upset. Everytime I go to my mom's sewing kit, I see all her pill bottles with the buttons in one, safety pins in another and all the threads she collected. Makes me smile everytime I open it. Now everytime you use yours you're going be upset with what they did. SO sorry!!!!!!! HUGS!!!!! Does Susanne know what happened???? Strut your stuff on that elliptical and then relax in the pool and the hot tub. You deserve it.

34 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. It's a new day and a new life again. My knee feels better than it has in years. Wish I had gone in sooner. I took my water pill last night and was down 3 pounds this morning, but still a pound above my ticker weight so I won't change it till I get under that. No excuse for me to not follow the bandster rules. I need to get some weight off before we head to the LB doctor May 3. I have a friend who moved away years ago and she has moved back. She and I were always exercise, diet buddies. She is extremely heavy now and I sent her an email last night about how happy I was with my band. She fired one back wanting to know all about it, so I invited her to our support group meeting next Saturday and will be taking my LB book to her to look over on Sunday. She lost 132# on WW and gained it all back plus while caring for her mother for 2 years. I'm glad she's interested in this. Her health is suffering due to the excess weight. Nothing on the agenda today except maybe going to the Home Builders Show and doing some laundry. Hopefully going out to dinner with Kris, Nathan and Grady tonight. Michelle.. I know how hard it was for you yesterday. I kept my moms sewing kit and her wallet and my dad's wallet. Bob has several things from his dad and I kept some clothes and of course the perfume from Bob's mom. Kris and she were extremely close so Kris kept a lot of her furniture and clothes too. Kris got her love of Lucy and Golden Girls from her Gramma Case and now I'm watching all the Golden Girls reruns each night. Never realized what a funny show that was. Well, off to take my blood pressure and fix some breakfast then start on the laundry. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Good evening, Violets.. Well, I got a cortisone shot in my knee. Didn't hurt, but the numbing shots stung. He says I should feel relief in 72 hours. Last time I got a shot was years and years ago and I felt the difference right away. Not happening this time, but we'll see. I also got a new script for water pills so I feel like I have a brand new start. I had been using Bob's water pills when he got switched to a new type. When they ran out, I didn't have a script for them and bob was using a different kind so I just didn't use any. That's when my weight loss really stalled. I'm hoping with the shot I might be able to start walking for exercise again and the water pills will give me a little push in the right direction. Doc wants to try everything possible before we resort to surgery. I go for an x-ray next week to see what the damage is. Off to read all my tabloids and then head to bed. Nothing on the agenda tomorrow except for going to the Home Show. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Janie.. so sorry about your health insurance. I'm very thankful for my insurance and wonder what's going to happen when Bob goes on Medicare next month. Can you get a generic version of the pills?? I didn't have to clean my car off this morning cause I didn't go anywhere, but the water in the bird bath is frozen and there was a light covering on the ground a few minutes ago, but it's gone now. I'm trying to eat Fiesta lime chicken with rice from Schwans, but it's not going down well. Son Joe is working nearby so he's coming to lunch and I have spaghetti warming up for him. bbl

Good morning, Violets.. Ethan has just arrived for the day and it's snowing out. Not much.. just a few flakes, but enough to say... IT'S SNOWING! Laura... definitely says that that suit is a SET. What were they thinking?? Michelle... been there, done that with my parents and my in laws. It's a bitter sweet time. Cherish the memories. I still have the cream perfume case from my MIL. The cream is all gone, but the smell is still there and I think of her every time I open it and smell that wonderful smell. I went on ebay and found some of the same perfume from an estate sale and it's my favorite. Janie.. one of my friends on Facebook said she flies Spirit all the time and knows about the seat prices, but that they have gone up. They have paid $6 per seat. Unreal. I'm headed to the doctor today to see what the prognosis is on my knee. I just hope I can get some relief and be able to walk for exercise again. I miss it. Laura.. send the link to the dress you got for the wedding. I have one picked out and will order it next week. But I'll also go shopping May 4 when Kris, Betsy and I go downstate to see Lord of the Dance. There are big malls where we are going and if I don't like the dress I order, I can hopefully find something then. Off to feed the little guy and myself. Everyone have a great day!!!

Sure hope Laura was able to go to Vegas. When I got out of flute rehearsal, there was snow all over the car. It just doesn't seem right!! Supposed to warm up towards the weekend so I have my fingers crossed for more mulching. The Bobster gets to take care of Grady AND Ethan tomorrow for about an hour. Hope he survives!!! I have a doc. appt. at 3:45 and Grady comes at 4 so Kris can go to Zumba. Ethan will be here until 4:30. He was so cute today. Kept asking if he could kiss Gramma on the cheek and saying he loved me. Also said he's his Daddy's homey.. lol Off to watch Project Runway and then read some more. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!!

Michelle.. years ago I was put on Effexor. It was an anti-depressant that had the side effect of weight loss. Obviously the weight loss part didn't work for me, but it did help me with my depression. I haven't taken it for years, but there are definitely days when I wish I had a couple! I've sent out three prayer request today on my email prayer chain for people who have had severe reactions to knee surgery. Tomorrow I go see the doc about...........knee surgery. ACK!! I just got up from a nap with Ethan in Gramma's big bed. He's still sleeping, but I'll have to get him up soon before his mom gets here. It was snowing when I got up.... just a few flakes, but yup.. snow. It's stopped and just windy now.

Definitely have my fingers crossed for you, Laura! That's awful. Sure hope the meds work quickly for you!

And after almost a year of knee pain, I finally made an appointment to see my doc on Friday. I'm hoping no surgery, but we'll wait and see. Can't really do anything until after June 20.. I have too many commitments before that, that I can't cancel. Glass Castles and Half Broke Horses are both good books. Half Broke is the prequel to Glass Castles. Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Shaffer and Barrows I just downloaded the newest Danielle Steel.. Big Girl Will get to that when I'm done with Under the Dome I saw the post by Laura. Sure hope she's ok. They are supposed to go to Vegas tomorrow.
