Well ladies.. is it a strange world or what? Grady was here while Kris got her hair cut and colored. When she got back, she said, "I have to do something... I'm going to join WW". Sooooooooooo I told her I would join with her and we could do it together. We are going in Friday to sign up. The sign up fee is waived right now so it's a good time to do it. Then when I go to the band doc on Monday I can at least say I'm trying something else to help. I don't know if I'll have a fill or not. I don't really need one right now, it's just a matter of getting my head back in the game. BUT.. if I don't have one and I start losing, am I going to lose restriction as well? Decisions, decisions.. I'll let the doc help me figure this one out. Kris and I are going to see Lord of the Dance and she's thinking about all the food she won't be able to have, but I said.. it's now or never!! She wants to have another baby, but not at the weight she is at now. So we might be able to help each other with this and that's a neat thing. Grady was so much fun today. He played and played and watched Elmo's adventure in Grouchland and then ate a lot for lunch. I had roast beef hash for breakfast.. I know...sounds gross, but it's sooooooo good and then didn't have anything until 2:30 and wasn't hungry. That tells me the band is still there and doing its job. I just have to work harder at MY job. Off to read some more on the Kindle.

16 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!
-
Good morning, Violets! Another sunshiny day here today. Grady comes at 11:15 so Kris can get her hair done. She posted on Facebook that he was up crying at 5:30, so I'm hoping he got it out of his system before he comes to see Gramma. PamELa.. yup... the famous LA weekend with Gracie!! Glad you survived the wind yesterday!! Wow.. first poster of the day is Delo!! Looks like you're becoming a Violet. We're a pretty neat group here and yes, several of us are going to Haydee's wedding. Even my hubby the Bobster who has never met these lovely ladies, is going with me. Can't wait!!! Off to fix some breakfast. I've been really good lately, but of course the scales don't show it. Monday is fill day!! Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves. Oh.. and I LOVED Glee last night. And I know I'll LOVE Modern Family tonight. woo hoo!!
-
The word is everything is super casual except for the actual wedding. I'm guessing that means reception too. Actually, I guess I kinda need to wear the dress to the reception so I can get my money's worth out of it! lol We'll wait to see what Haydee says. She's da boss a dis shindig!
-
Sooooooo cute!!!!
-
She looks AMAZING!!!
-
OMG, Delo.. you had knee replacement surgery. Are we clones or what????? I'm looking at that possibly this summer. We have to talk!!
-
DELO!!! 62 AND FROM KALAMAZOO?? WOOOO HOOOOOOOO I graduated from Western and so did the Bobster. Please feel free to join our group here. I need someone my age in here amongst all these young whipper snappers!!!! Not to mention another Michigander!!

Nobody noticed I took my ticker off cause the damn thing is stuck!!! (yes, I said damn, Michelle). Laura... CONGRATS to you on the -2# Sure wish I could do that and have it stay gone. It just seems to hover up and down, up and down, but still 15# from my lowest since getting banded. sighhhh I will talk to my doc on Monday and see what he says. Anyway.. I wouldn't mind changing between the wedding and the reception. I have a skirt and top I can throw on with more comfortable shoes. I'm sure the Bobster would be more than willing to change out of his suit into cooler clothes. Janie.... not for sure on my knee. I have to wait to see what the ortho says. It's really not THAT painful, especially with the new pain med, but just a nuisance since I can't get out and walk like I used to love to do. PmELa.. Haydee said that the only formal thing is the wedding. Everything else is casual.. I'm planning on capris or a skirt and some kind of top.. sleeveless or not depending on the weather. Grady just left with Kris. We had a "comfort food" lunch....roast beef on white bread with butter and salt. And chips. I had a hard boiled egg for breakfast, but pb'd it all. I won't eat anything now until dinner and that will be left over roast beef, potatoes and carrots made into a hash. Then singing rehearsal tonight and then watching GLEE!!! Michelle.. you've been through a LOT in a very short time with not much warning on everything that's happened. It's definitely a shock to your system and you haven't really had time to properly grieve. You really NEED this WDW time with your mom and sis. Relax and let your guard down and do what you need to do for yourself. Then when you get to Texas we will be there to torment you and MAKE you cheery! The Bobster asked me the other day how many other men were going to be there.. I said......ummmmmmmmmmmmm just you!!! He was not too thrilled, but I know he's going to have a great time with the Violets. Just be gentle with him. :scared2: He asked also where we were staying the night before we fly out.......... YIKES.... I forgot to make that reservation. It's done now, but that would have been a great start.... Off to clean the house a bit and read on the Kindle.
-
Good Morning, Violets.. Had a good night's sleep courtesy of new pain meds. Grady comes today at 10 so Kris can get her physical. I've got to Grady proof the house before he gets here. I finished UR last night and am on to reading Rooms. Just started it, so I'll let you know what I think when I get into it. Are we supposed to rent our car before we get there or can we wait till the 13th as long as Haydee has the reservation code? I'm getting soooo excited!! Off to get dressed, have breakfast and wait for the little guy to get here. Everyone have a great day!! Be good to yourselves..

See Jane... miracles DO happen!! I'm very proud of your cutting and pasting ability! And yes, you turn pages on a Kindle.. except you do it with a little clicky button and pages never stick together and you don't need a bookmark cause the Kindle always remembers where you stopped.

Here's a review of the book I just downloaded. It's darn good so far and of course by Stephen King! Amazon.com Review Since his first novel was published in 1974, Stephen King has stretched the boundaries of the storyteller as a writer who constantly redefines his readers' experience by working in various genres and formats . Whether in an epic horror novel, like THE STAND, a serial-novel like THE GREEN MILE, or a novella like SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, King is able to deliver a reading experience like no one else can. As quickly as a spider spins its web, King reminds us why he's the master of the novella - a format which, up until now that is, one might have thought is fast disappearing. In his new novella, UR, King is at his unsettling best as he examines the future of the written word - for better or worse. Following a nasty break-up, lovelorn college English instructor Wesley Smith can't seem to get his ex-girlfriend's parting shot out of his head: "Why can't you just read off the computer like the rest of us?" Egged on by her question and piqued by a student's suggestion, Wesley places an order for Amazon.com's Kindle eReader. The [pink?] device that arrives in a box stamped with the smile logo -via one-day delivery that he hadn't requested - unlocks a literary world that even the most avid of book lovers could never imagine. But once the door is open, there are those things that one hopes we'll never read or live through. Firm, gripping, and deftly written by a craftsman at the top of his game, this is King at his crisp, clear, page-turning best. Download and read UR only on Kindle.

Wow Mae.. you have done a GREAT job with the band!!! CONGRATS!!! I finished reading Big Girl and I gotta tell you.. there were so many things about her life that mirrored mine. Not with both parents, just my dad and the nose thing... yep.. that's me, but I can't afford to do anything about it. Really good book and fast read. Now on to Amazon to see what I want to download next. Roast in the slow cooker is done for dinner. I'm just waiting for the Bobster to finish his 9 holes of golf and get home to eat with me. Then I'm off to Community Chorus rehearsal. BBL.....

Good afternoon, Violets.. Well, I have an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon to check out the knee. It's not until June 1st and if there is surgery, it will have to be after the 20th of June. That's Gospel Sunday at church and possibly my last choir gig there so I can't miss it. I called my doc today and asked for a script for pain meds. He said he would send one in, but that he would refer me to the orth as well. My x-rays showed more damage to the joint.. oh joy. PamELa.. hope you get your pills and your hormones back in line. How are you liking Big Girl?? Don't you just want to smack those parents for what they did to her?? Michelle... Mo will always be with you. Nice of you to make cookies for the vet. I would be way too tempted to eat them myself!! We go to the band doc in one week. We haven't been there in well over a year so it should be interesting to see what he says. I don't see him yelling at us, but I'm sure we are not his biggest success stories! But I'm still a work in progress and I'll keep on the journey until I get to goal. Haydee.. can't wait to see pics of the next trial hair and makeup. Won't be long now before we get to see it all up close and personal!! Heather...tell me about plane delays. I almost didn't get to the first meeting of the Violets because of the first leg of the flight being canceled. I didn't arrive until evening when I was supposed to get there noonish. Laura...my band seems to be different every day. Some days I can't eat anything, and some days everything slides down. I have to break my Tylenol capsules in half in order to get them down one day and can take them whole the next. Go figger! Jane.. hope you are having a good day today..
-
Good morning, Violets.. Semi-lazy day today. Just hospital shift and community chorus rehearsal. I slept good last night, thank goodness. I wish I could plant my new plants today, but temps are supposed to get down into the 20's the next couple of days, so I'll wait. Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves.

Good evening, Violets.. Just finishing watching 2012 and then on to Desperate Housewives and Kendra. Ahhhhhhh an intellectual evening, to be sure. I got a nap in and feel much better tonight. Hope I don't have trouble falling asleep later. Everyone have a good evening.

19 days till Haydee and Juan's wedding!!

Good morning, Violets.. Couldn't get to sleep last night so came downstairs at 2 to get a couple of tylenol for me knee and surf the net. Finally went back to bed at 3 after it kicked in. Guess I shouldn't have had such a long nap with Ethan yesterday. Oh well... now I'll have to have another today cause I sure didn't sleep much last night. Off to get ready for church and then lunch out with the Bobster when he gets back from his church. Everyone have a relaxing day today. Be good to yourselves.

Good evening, Violets.. What a nice day today. I got about 20 plants to put in the flower beds. Ethan loved looking at all the flowers and picked out one that he liked that will be "his" flower. The owner even gave it to him for free because she said he was so cute. We went to McDonald's and he got a Happy Meal and I got a Big and Tasty, light mayo. 3 bites and I pb'd it. Guess it was not my day for McDonalds. Ethan and I took a longggggggggg nap and when we got up we watched some more Veggie Tales. The Bobster got us some chicken and then we watched the Iron Giant. Ethan was here from 11 -7, but was really good. Tomorrow Bob and I are going to look at a painted bench for his garden area and we'll see if we can get some of the plants planted. PamELa.. I'm going to look for those Fit Flops when Kris and I go downstate to see Lord of the Dance May 4th. They look really comfortable. I ordered a top and another skirt today. The one denim skirt I got from ebay fits, but it is slit wayyyyyyy up in the front and that's not me. I'm 35% done with Big Girl and loving it too. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well!!

Michelle.. so sorry for your loss, but it was the kindest thing you could do for Mo. Even though you want to just crawl under the covers and stay there, you have to keep going and looking ahead. It's the same with people and pets.. You dwell on all the good memories and know you did all that you possibly could. Hugs to you, sweetie.
