    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good morning, Violets.. I had a pretty good night's sleep, so am feeling almost back to normal after three days of sitting in a car. Bob's restriction has left. He's able to get a handful of pills down at one shot. But then again he's at 7 cc in a 10 cc so he will certainly get another fill next month. I did very well with eating while I was gone. Kris is being so good and I'm proud of her. We counted points yesterday and for supper I split walleye with Bob and had a few bites of cottage cheese and 1 red potato wedge. ALL of it came up as I pb'd 3 times. Guess I wasn't supposed to eat dinner. But I didn't eat chips afterwards, PamELa!! I had my hot chocolate and Mirilax and called it a night. I will find out Saturday how this is working when we go to weigh in at WW. Lord of the Dance was just awesome. How people can dance like that.. sooooooooo fast and so complicated.. is beyond me!! Kris saw the original production 11 years ago and said this was just the same, except for the dancers of course. I'm sure the ones from 11 years ago are pretty much worn out by now! I ordered my Fit Flops for the trip and they are due to arrive tomorrow. I tried them on at the store and they are very comfortable. They just didn't have the style I wanted so I had to go online. No Ethan today since Joe doesn't have any work. Bob and I plan to work in the backyard all day, but it's not looking too good weather wise right now. We'll have to see how it is after lunch. Off to get some breakfast and then get started on laundry. Everyone have a great day! Oh... I really enjoyed the book, Julia's Chocolates. It was kind of a Glass Castle/Violets book. I finished it yesterday and started on the next one which I am enjoying also. Everyone have a great day. Be good to yourselves. One week from today is Texas time!!!!!!

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good evening, Violets.. Bob and I are back!! Bob gained 6# since we were there last and he lost 2.5 cc from his band. He got a .5 fill and we'll see how that goes. We met with the nutritionist and hopefully he let the info sink in this time. I gained 10# in a year and a half and didn't get a fill. I feel I am at my sweet spot, I just need to defeat the head hunger. If I need a fill I can get one next month when we go back. Off to pack to go to Grand Rapids tomorrow to see Lord of the Dance with Kris. Glad you're back, Michelle!!! Everyone have a good night.. Sleep well!!

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good morning, Violets.. Headed to Port Huron today to get the Bobster a fill. I don't think I'm going to have one, though I might break down and get a tiny one. Will have to discuss it with the doc. Everyone have a great day.. I'm taking the Kindle for the 8 hour round trip. Should be able to get close to finishing the book. Will check in when we get back tonight.

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

wow.. pretty quiet in here today. Well, we got outside for a little bit and got the bird bath cleaned out and leveled. The plants are where they need to be planted, but Bob has to do that on Thursday. He won't have any free time until then. And then of course the next week will be doubly hectic. We'll wrap up rehearsals before we leave on Wednesday afternoon. We're not sure when Joe is leaving for Wyoming. It could be the week of the Texas trip or the week after. We just have to wait and see. I just hope everything works out for him. If it does, then Jen and Ethan will move out there in August and then there will be one sad, sad Gramma. But I need to focus on enjoying the time I have left with him. Onward to Desperate Housewives and Kendra! Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Just up from a nice, long nap. The Bobster and Joe are playing golf so yard work will wait until he gets back home. The rain has stopped and it's looking soooooooo green outside now. What a difference a couple of weeks makes. Janie.. sorry about your shoulder! You don't think you've dislocated it, do you? Well, I had to stop reading the book I started. Rooms was just getting way too preachy for me. I read the reviews and people said they were upset Amazon didn't give an accurate description of the book. I figured I could handle religious stuff, right? Wrong.. too much for me. I want drama, humor or mystery, not a sermon. Sooooooo I started reading Julia's Chocolates and so far am loving it. Here's the synopsis.. From the moment Julia Bennett leaves her abusive Boston fiance at the altar and her ugly wedding dress hanging from a tree in South Dakota, she knows she's driving away from the old Julia, but what she's driving toward is as messy and undefined as her own wounded soul. The old Julia dug her way out of a tortured, trailer park childhood with a monster of a mother. The new Julia will be found at her Aunt Lydia's rambling, hundred-year-old farmhouse outside Golden, Oregon. There, among uppity chickens and toilet bowl planters, Julia is welcomed by an eccentric, warm, and often wise clan of women, including a psychic, a minister's unhappy wife, an abused mother of four, and Aunt Lydia herself - a woman who is as fierce and independent as they come. Meeting once a week for drinks and the baring of souls, it becomes clear that every woman holds secrets that keep her from happiness. But what will it take for them to brave becoming their true selves? For Julia, it's chocolate. All her life, baking has been her therapy and her refuge, a way to heal wounds and make friends. Nobody anywhere makes chocolates as good as Julia's, and now, chocolate just might change her life - and bring her love when she least expects it. But it can't keep her safe. As Julia gradually opens her heart to new life, new friendships, and a new man, the past is catching up to her. And this time, she will not be able to run but will have to face it head on. Filled with warmth, love, and truth, Julia's Chocolates is an unforgettable novel of hope and healing that explores the hurts we keep deep in our hearts, the love that liberates us, the courage that defines us, and the chocolate that just might take us there. I'm doing very well on my eating,(even after all this talk of chocolates!) but of course I've done that before. We'll see how long it lasts. Day two of WW is almost done. Kris started today and she had 9 points after lunch, so she has lots to use up for supper and snacks. Off to check emails and then get outside.

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good morning, Violets.. Another rainy day here today. Yesterday was the first day on WW and it went quite well. Now at least when I go to the fill doctor I can say I'm really working at it. If it stops raining we'll be working out in the yard today. If not, it's inside cleaning. Got to have everything spic and span before we leave on the 13th. Everyone have a great day!! Be good to yourselves.

Thanks.. I just checked with dd and she said the same. I don't know how involved I'll be with the WW, but it will keep me accountable and that's a good thing. Rainy day here, but it's supposed to get up to 75 and things are really greening up out there. Everyone have a good, relaxing day! Be good to yourselves..

Joe is leaving in 2 weeks for Wyoming. He has a friend there who has a job for him. He's going to go and try it for a couple of months. If it works out, then Jen and Ethan will join him. Good for his family, very bad for Gramma.

I think I've found the secret to WW. They give you sooooooooooo much to read, you don't have time to think about eating!!! I start the program tomorrow. Lots of reading to do tonight. Kris is going to start Sunday. I do know that I have 22 points and Kris has 29 per day. Here we go!!

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

And I am back, finally. Kris and I signed up for WW. And yep, it's $44 a month here. We both got the points calculator and the Member Kit so we're good to go. Then we went and got chocolate sushi and a chocolate cream pie cupcake. wooo hooooo. We're starting tomorrow! Laura.. you saw Grady's 1 year pics on Facebook. He had the baseball theme and the duck we got him for Easter. Carson is going to be so cute!! Well.. Joe is leaving in two weeks, just as we leave for Texas. Bob says he needs to be home to say good bye to Joe, but I said NO WAY.. you are going to Texas WITH ME!!! So it begins.. Ethan might be on his way out of my everyday life. I'm going to love him up as much as I can while he's here. sighhhhhhhhhh He's watching tv right now and Kris and Grady are sleeping on the couch. Bob is golfing with Nathan and Nathan's dad. Jetta, the big dog totally destroyed one of the flower beds we just planted yesterday. I can't trust her outside by herself!! We'll have to repair that this afternoon. Off to study my WW material.

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good morning, Violets.. Mae.. online is where I got the price. For our area it's $44 a month. Must be cause we're in Michigan. Anyway Kris and I are going this morning and we'll check it out. Had an egg on toast today and it's sitting right in my throat. I hate that feeling. Yesterday was toast and peanut butter and by the time I got to church for my flute rehearsal I had to make a stop at the bathroom first to pb. Lovely. Ethan is coming this morning sometime when Joe goes to work. He hasn't worked in a couple of weeks and is looking to go to Wyoming for employment. If that happens, then I lose Ethan and that would break my heart, but he has to do what is best for his family. Course that's assuming that Jen will want to leave everything here to move out there. Decisions, decisions. Hope Michelle is enjoying her time at Disney. I KNOW Haydee is going to enjoy her weekend!! We're working in the backyard yet again today. It's supposed to get up into the 70's so it will be great planting weather. We got a couple of new deck chairs last night and some more plants for Bob's area in the back and also for the front yard. Time to start on that section. Everyone have a great day!! Be good to yourselves.

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Just back from flute rehearsal and got a couple of emails taken care of. We're having lunch now and then will head outside to work in the flower beds and get the plants planted. Keeping my fingers crossed for no nights at 25 degrees.. Doesn't look like it in the forecast. Laura... it's unbelievable how quickly time flies. There are so many things I can't remember about when my kids were tiny. I remember my first biological son, Josh and I holding hands when we took naps together. Now he's 34 and hasn't held my hand in 32 years!!! sighhhhhhhh But the great part is seeing what a good parent he has become. Same with my son Joe and daughter Kris. PamELa.. we sigh up for WW tomorrow. What is the monthly cost in your area??? We're looking at $44 a month for unlimited meetings and etools. Pricey, but as Bob says, if it works it will be worth every penny. Heather.. loved the pics of Ayla on Facebook. Can you believe that she's almost a year old already???? And YES Modern Family is the funniest show on TV. Cam is my hero and Phil is the greatest character!! (she was in a good mood last week, but I cashed it in for something else).. WATCH it if you can!! Haydee... have a GREAT time this weekend. Janie... you are every tech support expert's dream! Off to finish my lunch and then head outside.

    Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Good morning, Violets! Flute rehearsal this morning, then Ethan comes at 11 for the day. We are going to spend the day outside plants and mowing and doing garden stuff. Michelle...you're probably already headed out, but I'll say it anyway. Have a WONDERFUL time!!! Janie.. we have a copier, scanner, printer and we love it. Especially since it's wireless and we can use it with our laptops as well as the desktop. Off to get some breakfast. Everyone have a great day!! Be good to yourselves...
