Ok.. so I just posted a new thread... APRIL 2007 SHRINKIN' VIOLETS!! Then I'm smacking myself in the forehead and thinking.. why did we have to do that? We could just as easily continue the April 2007 thread. Oh well. It's there if we want it or we can just stay here.. -
I totally agree. I tried the Metamucil pre-op and just couldn't get it down. I use Fiber Sure and it disolves completely and is tasteless. Also works!! So does a dose or two of prune juice.

I put Fiber Sure in my yogurt twice a day. I also drank some prune juice yesterday and it worked today. In the book by Dr. Ortiz it says that BM's can be as much as 3-6 days apart. I was getting worried, but things started moving today. I just finished another glass of prune juice. Only bad thing is, it's 180 calories a glass!!! -

Now that I look at the signature closely and think about it, I hope we don't start shrinkin' THAT way! I'm short enough already!!! YIKES! -

Actually, I stole... errrrrrrrr borrowed it from Kity. I liked her version better than the one I came up with. Laura, can you call your doc and see about the Unisom today?? You really need your rest with what your body is going through. Hope you do ok at work today and yes, get that nap in!! -
Cute, cute, cute!! I don't see any tears in the after pic, so I'm guessing she's ok with the new do. And hair doesn't have to be long to be feminine!! I love short hair. I even have some myself!!

Good Morning all you Shrinking Violets.. Terri.. I too have a stitch on the outside. It's at the port area and I'm afraid to pull it for fear of unraveling the whole thing!! YIKES!! I go in for my meeting with the nurse and nutritionist on the 8th so will ask her to check it out then. I finally figured out that the incision between my boobs is the port. I was expecting it to be on the lower left side of my abdomen, but after rereading parts of Dr. Ortiz's book last night, it says the port can be just about anywhere including the sternum and that's where mine is. I was brave enough to push on it last night and yup.. there's the port! Kat.. stay strong and continued prayers to you and Rick. I hope the problems get resolved and he gets better and you both get back home soon. Brenners... congrats on being in Bandland!! Can't help you with the gas pains.. I hate to mention it here, but I didn't have any that I noticed. Just the motorboat ones DH said I let rip while I was sleeping. I didn't come home with any so I feel extremely fortunate. nbjen.. I too had a hernia repair at the time of banding. I am sooooooo grateful not to have acid reflux anymore! It's so nice to be able to sleep on my stomach again and with only one pillow, instead of being propped up on my right side so the acid didn't back up into my throat during the night. Tracy... hope all goes well at work today. Don't overdo.. I'm betting your work isn't as physical as moping the floors so you should be fine!! To everyone else.. have a great day, stay true to the bandland rules and we'll all continue to be Shrinking Violets!!! -

Ok Tracy.. No problem... I'll start one on Tuesday morning when the month of April becomes history. Hard to believe, isn't it??? Time just flies by. I'm getting the last of my water in before I head to bed. One more week of full liquids and then I get to go to soft foods!! It's been almost 3 weeks since my surgery and I can honestly say I have not ever had one instant of regret. It's the best thing I could have ever done for myself. -

Tracy, Tracy, TRACY!!!! What the heck are you thinkin' girl??? You shouldn't be moping floors that soon after surgery!!!!! Heck, I'm trying to milk mine for at least a month and a half. "Oooooooooooo honey...those big ole cuts hurt sooooooooo bad. Can you mop and dust and wash and wax and dry and clean for me???" "I promise I'll do it when I feel better. Real soon. Promise" Course I can't show him my incisions cause I can't find them anymore. Cept for the one between my boobs and we all know how well hidden THAT one is!!! I'm heading to the jewelry store tomorrow morning to pick up my second angel charm. And only 7# more til my next one. I should have 8 when I'm done and maybe, just maybe 10. I called my friend Kathy who had surgery Friday. She is doing better today. Finally got the dry heaves to stop. BUT.. she called the emergency number for the doc and nobody ever returned the call. I told her to call tomorrow and complain!!! She's going to stay another night at the hotel before making the 4 hour trip back tomorrow. She loved the name Shrinking Violets and wants to be part of the group, but doesn't have her computer back from her son, the fix it man, yet. Tracy.. are we going to start a new post May 1st and title it SHRINKING VIOLETS????? -

I think you might be right, Terri. Funny, I always thought it would be lower and to the left. It's way high between my boobs, but then again, my boobs ain't where they're supposed to be either.. With a little duct tape I too can have perky boobs again!! Anyway.. I did press down on the incision today and it feels like there is something there. Perhaps the doc wanted to make sure I could wear a bikini when the time came. Ummmmm not in this lifetime!! -

Good morning, all. Well, today was weigh in for the week. DH hid the scales on me last week and, how silly is this.. I couldn't sleep this morning waiting to get on them!! Luckily it was good news. I lost 5# this week!!! My clothes are getting looser and I'm 1# away from my lowest weight when I was going to Curves. I've made it through upteen temptations and am proudly patting myself on the back just cause I can!! Tomorrow it's over to the jewelers for another charm for my bracelet!! I'm totally geeked!!! I am feeling sorry for my friend that had the surgery Friday. I was telling her how easy it was for me and I just thought she would have an easy time too. Unfortunately she's feeling very nauseous and in pain. I felt so bad talking to her on the phone. She's had lots of surgeries.. major ones and thought for sure this one would be an easy one. It's amazing how different it is for different people. And she and I had the same doctor! Needless to say I feel very blessed and thankful mine went so easily for me. Kat.. we're all still praying for you and Rick. Hope you both can feel the warmth of those prayers. Keep us informed as much as you can and take care of yourself too. -
I have the Magic Bullet. More power, less money!!

Where are all the Michigan people at??
Teachlady replied to Cinnaberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Jenn.. Congrats on the surgery and welcome to bandland!! The puffiness in your hands is normal. I could barely move my rings, but withing a day or two it was back to normal. It's all the fluid they pump into you. You'll lose a lot at first, but it's mainly from the surgery. Then the real journey begins. I weigh in tomorrow for the first time this week. I'm anxious to see what it says. But even if it isn't good news, I know my clothes are looser and that's kewl with me!! And my rings are already spinning on my fingers.. -

Great pics, Tracy. I have to ask the nurse when I go in on the 8th exactly where my port is. I can't seem to locate it!! And I'm still having a little trouble with the incision between the boobs. It's right at a place where my skin folds and it hurts to get up after I bend over. And the actual lapband pics.. terrific!! I'd recognize your insides anywhere!! Nice liver!! :biggrin1: -

Ok all you Shrinking Violets!!! I must be really addicted cause I'm sitting in a hotel lobby using the free internet to see if Tracy made it home alright. Now I can sleep tonight.. lol Seriously, glad to have you back Tracy and so thrilled that things went well for you. I see the nurse and nutritionist on the 8th of May and then can go on mushies for two weeks.. then regular food!! Yea!!! I won't see the doctor for a fill until the first week of June. He waits 8 weeks before a fill. Things are still going very well. I've had lots and lots of temptations and have conquered them all. I'm at a church meeting and they are having chicken salad for lunch tomorrow and I brought along my yogurt and soup and pudding so I'm all set. I went to the fitness room and did my 30 minutes on the treadmill and the bike. I won't weigh in until Sunday morning and am anxious to see how the weight is dropping. I sure feel a difference in my clothes already! Everyone have a good evening and I'll be back to check on you all on Saturday evening!! I too like the name Shrinking Violets.. We're lovely and we're shrinking.. couldn't have a better name. What do the rest of you think??? Judy -
