I love www.thedailyplate.com It's the easiest one I have found. Keeps track of what I've eaten and subtracts the calories burned from exercise. -

I had the Heparin shots...6 shots total. They were done pre and post surgery in the belly and were painless. Didn't have to take any at home, thank goodness!!

Good morning, fellow Violets.. My follow up appointment was with the nutritionist and she recommended 1000-1200 calories a day for a woman. I'm not getting anywhere near that with what I eat, but I'm increasing each day by adding new foods. Today instead of yogurt, I'm having an egg with a slice of cheese. It tastes heavenly. I'm 3/4 of the way through with it and already feeling full. I just had to fill out a registration form for a church conference and they list the meals and the prices. No way could I justify paying $25.00 for the evening buffet, so I didn't check any of the meals and wrote a notation that I was a bariatric patient and couldn't eat more than 1/4 cup so I would nibble off DH's plate. Hope they will allow that. Not like I'm going to pig out and eat $25.00 worth of food at one sitting. (well I could have two months ago, but life is different now, thank God!!) For everyone that has a nutrition question.. please, PLEASE check with YOUR doc and nutritionist. Everyone in here has a different plan and the bottom line is to find out what is recommended by your doc and nutritionist for YOU. They suggestions we get in here are wonderful, but they have to be right for us.. right Violets???? -

Such GREAT news!!! :clap2: :clap2: My fingers, toes and eyes are crossed that there will be no more obstacles on your way to bandland. Just remember this journey whenever you feel tempted to slip off the bandster road... you worked soooo hard to get here!!! I was an overnighter with my surgery. And I DID have the barium swallow.. yuck.. And I got the heparin shots when I got to the hospital.. 1 every 6 hours for a total of 6. I didn't know ahead of time about them either. I said.. "oh, that's going right in the iv, right??" Nope.. right in the belly. Wasn't as bad as it sounds at all. And I'll gladly take them rather than risk a blood clot. Though I certainly didn't have to take them for 2 weeks afterwards.. yikes! -

Tracy.. I went to Silver Dollar City a few years ago and loved it! Have a great time! I'm waiting for DH to get home from a meeting so he can watch Ethan while I head to Curves. First time I've been able to go there since getting banded.. woooo hoooooo!!! -
I've been wondering the same thing. I looked online and there used to be a support group that met at the hospital here, but apparently it.. forgive the pun.. disbanded. Wish we could get one started in this area. I can't travel 4 hours for a support meeting... just don't have the time in my schedule these days. Nor the money at the price of gas these days!!!!!

Good Morning all you Shrink'n Violets... It sure is good to be back home though it was a great trip to see the nurse and nutritionist. My appointment for my first fill is June 5 at 8 a.m. so we'll have to head down the day before again. At least the Holiday Inn there has a discount for hospital patients and they have a great pool and hot tub. I was cleared for soft food, so what am I having for breakfast.. My yogurt as usual! Guess I'm a creature of habit. Nothing else sounded good to me this morning, but I am looking forward to some tuna salad and green beans for lunch. I hope everyone has a great day and pray those with burdens will find them easier to handle as this new day begins. -
Definitely wishing you the very best!! Welcome to bandland!!!

Hello Shrink'n Violets!!! Got back from my follow up appointment this evening. It's a 4 hour drive so we went Monday night, spent the night in the hotel, had the appt. at 9:30 and that didn't get over until 11:00. Did some shopping and then drove 4 hours home. The appointment went well. I've lost 25# by their scale too so I was pleased. I got to start soft foods today. Had some walleye and cottage cheese for supper. I'm supposed to have some yogurt tonight, but I'm just not hungry. I'll drink my last two cups of water and call it a night. The good news is I can start back to Curves tomorrow and I can get in the hot tub tonight!! :biggrin1: Michelle and Jenn.. I'm so sorry to hear of your disappointments. Hopefully Michelle the meds will have helped you and the test will come back negative so you can get the surgery. Jenn.. the perfect job is out there for you, I'm positive. Just keep the faith and lean on us when you need too. You too Michelle. I have to be up and at a flute rehearsal at 8 in the morning, so I'm going to head to bed. Everyone have a good evening. -
Hey Jillia!! You are pretty close to me. I'm in Alpena and drove down Monday for my appointment today. It's 4 hours for me and I had Dr. Bhesania! I don't suppose you're a nurse, are you? My DSIL is a PA at the old airbase in Oscoda..

DH just came home with my new charm. Thought you'd like to see the ones I have so far.. The angels are for 10# and the gold and silver is for 25#. The picture with two views is the clip to keep the charms in one section of the bracelet. I have two of the clips. I just love the bracelet. Kudos :clap2: to the person that thought up getting a charm bracelet to record our progress!!! -

Ok.. so I'm having a teency weency problem pulling myself away from the computer. We're not on any time schedule today to get downstate, so I'm putzing around here taking my time. Just got the ok from the nurse to go swimming in the pool at the hotel and that is going to be a treat for me!!! Last hotel we were at two weeks ago had a beautiful pool and I couldn't go in cause my incisions weren't totally healed yet. This time I'll be in the pool all evening!! Did I mention I love water?? The kind you jump in, not necessarily the kind you have to drink 64 oz. of each and every day. -

Terri.. CONGRATS on getting to Onederland!!! That's my next mini-goal. I didn't lose any weight this past week, but tomorrow is a new day and a new week and I know it will come off eventually.
