Pam, You're in my thoughts today. It's so sad when we lose our parents. And you're definitely way too young to lose both of yours. Cherish the moments and the memories. They really come in handy, especially on days like Mother's Day and Father's Day. My relationship with my mom was great, but not so much with my dad. He was, for most of my life, a very greedy, self centered person. But the last few years of his life, I took care of him. He was able to stay in an apartment until 10 days before his death when we put him in a care home and for the last few years, I saw a different side of him. It made his passing a time for grieving instead of relief, if you understand what I mean. He never could say "I love you".. but he never, ever said good bye without saying "be careful". Those were his "I love you" words. I'm glad I was able to have the last few years to know a different side of him. Take care of yourself and know you have lots of shoulders in here to lean or cry on. -

Jenn.. great job on choosing the right foods and right amounts from the Mother's Day buffet. That's a big accomplishment!!! We went out for dinner tonight and I had a cup of seafood chowder and about 6 bites of my daughter's tossed salad. yummy and filling. It's amazing, isn't it?? -

You and I are in the same boat Margi. I wasn't allowed to do anything but walking until 5 weeks and now I can do Curves and my ab lounger. Also I was on 2 weeks clear liquids, 2 weeks full liquids and am now on 4 weeks of soft foods. I will get regular foods at 8 weeks after I see the doc for my first fill.. June 5. 30# is great and you should be proud!!! Each doc is different and that's why we have to be careful to follow OUR doc's rules. Hang in there, you're doing great!! -

Good Morning, Fellow Violets.. Today was weighin day and woooo hooooo I lost 4# this week. Just one pound shy of another charm! I'm very pleased and excited about the weight loss and so looking forward to DH getting banded in just 9 more days!! We got a lot done in the backyard yesterday and today I'm working on putting mulch in the front yard and planting a few hostas and day lilies. Time to get ready for church. Everyone have a great day and keep on shrink'n!!! -

Jenn.. You've lost 24# in a month.. THAT'S WONDERFUL!!!! Just think what those 24# would have felt like if you had GAINED them all!! I took my monthly pics the other night and I was disappointed cause I didn't see a big difference between the two, but wow.. the clothes I can wear comfortably now that were embarrassingly tight a month ago makes me realize the BIG difference in just the 25# I've lost. So keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about that dang scale. I only weigh once a week now and even if the figures don't budge very fast, I know the inches are coming off and I'm doing everything I can to make this work. DH and I are working out in the backyard today. He is on a mission to get as much done as he can before his surgery in 10 days! Everyone have a great Saturday, stick to the bandster rules and keep on shrink'n!!! -

DD, DDIL and several other ladies are going to see Clay Aiken July 22 in Michigan. This will be my 5th time seeing and hearing him. I admit it, I'm a Claymate. I just LOVE his voice and he's so darn personable. It's always a great concert. Plus it's our annual ladies day/night out and we'll get a couple hotel rooms and Par-tay! There will definitely be some shopping in there too. -

Good Morning, fellow Violets.. I'm sitting here eating my scrambled egg and cheese and waiting for grandson Ethan to arrive. I have him til 1 today and it's a beautiful day so he and I will go "strolling" and I'll get my exercise in for the day. Plus I'll head to Curves this afternoon. I had a little slice of meatloaf for supper last night along with some green beans and a couple of tsps. of mashed sweet potatoes. I was comfortably full for the rest of the evening. Got to watch my Pistons win yet another game so life is very good here! Hope everyone has a great day!!
