Where are all the Michigan people at??
Teachlady replied to Cinnaberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
4 Weeks of Optifast?? Wow.. that sounds really excessive!! I'm not in the Lansing area.. I live in the frozen Northland.. Alpena. I went to Port Huron for my banding. No pre op diet except to lose a few pounds to shrink the liver. No Protein shakes.. ever!! I had no problems with the surgery and will get my first fill on the 5th of June. I'm loving my band!!! And DH is having the surgery in 4 days! -

Cassenova Mom... I love it!! Of all the things a vp would call a parent about.. I'd say this one was very mild. And congrats for doing exercise instead of sucking on a pizza!!:clap2: Can't wait to hear your son's explanation when he gets home. You WILL share, won't you?? Just don't tell him all his purple tighted Aunties are waiting to hear the details.. -
Hi Katherine.. Welcome to the board!! You're an "oldie", but a "newbie"! This is a great site.. glad you found us!

Mdrai... Be very, very careful where you drink that stuff. Certainly not in a diner with Billy Crystal sitting across from you. Just like after hearing Sally, every lady will be asking to order.. "one of those". -
Sheree.. I checked your recent posts and you had responses for every one!! Are you sure you're checking?? You posted about your surgery date today and you have had several responses to that post. Congrats on your upcoming surgery and I hope all goes well for you!!

Your turn is coming, my dear. Just try and be patient and know that all these tests will insure a successful lapband surgery for you!!

Nobody's talking to you, eh?? lol Well, I've had a colonoscopy, but not the other and it was not required before I had the lap band surgery. Do you have some issues the doc is concerned about?

How many incisions did you wind up with after surgery?
Teachlady replied to JennyC724's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Same here. 4 small, 1 a little larger. -
I use Fibersure twice a day. I mix it in with my scrambled egg and cheese for breakfast and in my yogurt for my evening snack. I have had chronic constipation for years. My lapband doc said to try this and I have been regular ever since. I used to have to take several stool softener pills every night. I haven't taken once since finding out about Fibersure. I highly recommend it. And being regular now is once every two or three days for me.

**snicker** I remember the days in Kindergarten when the kids were "resting" and I would go online and laugh at some emails.. The kids would ask what was so funny, and I'd just say.. "shaddup and get to sleep". I was a good Kindergarten teacher, can ya tell?? -

Today is a new day and another NSV! I had to find new jeans to wear today cause my standard pair are too big. AND I thought I might need to get a new bra. I was a 44DD a couple weeks before surgery. Was a 42DD a couple of weeks after surgery and went to get a 40DD, but they didn't have that size. So I got a 38DD and hoped it would fit soon. Well, soon is TODAY. I tried it on and it fits!! PLUS I was wearing size 10 Fruit of the Loom undies and now I'm in 8's. Now this is information I can only share with DH and all the Shrink'n Violets. The rest of the world would not be that interested in my underwear, trust me. -

Good Morning all you Shrink'n Violets!! After watching grandson Ethan all day yesterday, I can truly say.. no more pregnancies for me!! Oh wait.. I'm 59 and post menopausal. Nevermind.. But my goal is to get rid of the belly that LOOKS like I'm pregnant!! Dh is doing great on his pre-op diet. He's lost almost 8# in just 3 days so far. I know he'll do even better at losing after surgery. I may have to secretly slip some milkshakes into his routine so he doesn't outdo me!!! 5 more days til his surgery and we're both so excited. This will be the start of a brand new life together.. just like newlyweds... ok.. OLDly weds!! I just hope our Canada trip isn't too rough on him. We leave two days after his surgery for 6 days away. Then a week after we get back I go for my fill. Always something to look forward to!!! Everyone have a great day and stick to those bandster rules!!! -
That's it.. Idol is a big rip off. You take the most talented, consistent singer in the competition and she's gone???? Sure, I like Jordin, but Melinda was the best singer in the group. She proved it again with her farewell song. Yes, she'll do well, but dang it.... the one I pick NEVER wins!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Did I mention I'm going to my 5th Clay Aiken concert in July??

Good morning, Shrink'n Violets!!! It's good to see everyone posting this morning. Hope everyone had a good night. When I say to follow the bandster rules, I simply mean.. 1. Follow YOUR doctor's instructions 2. Follow YOUR nutritionist's instructions 3. Drink 8 glasses of water a day 4. Exercise 30 minutes a day That's our goal each and every day. BUT.. none of us are perfect and this is a journey full of bumps and bruises. Just remember that little tool inside of us will always be there ready and willing to help us get to that goal we have each set for ourselves. For me, at my age, it's an exciting adventure and I feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of each day that I have made it one more day towards my goal. So I will continue to say... have a great day and follow the bandster rules!!! -
Lots of difficulties with this site today. I get a lot of "page cannot be displayed" messages. grrrrrrrrrr

Finished my 5th glass of water today. I'll finish my 6th and 7th glass in about an hour. And I too had meat loaf for supper. cooked the begeezus out of some fresh asparagus and had that and a couple of tablespoons of sweet potato and I'm stuffed to the gills. Even a little pain as I think I ate too fast. I'm off to bell choir and a singing rehearsal and then will come home to a yogurt for my evening snack. -

Sheeeeesh Terry... you're on your 2nd fill and I don't get my first until June 5! but then again, I'm not having any hunger issues... yet!! I just finished planting 8 different plants in one of my flower gardens and three tomato plants in pots. Hope they do well in there. I changed my veggie garden to a flower garden last year, but I knew I'd miss fresh tomatoes off the vine. I have two flower beds to create with weedliner and mulch but won't get to that til Thursday. DH put all the paving blocks out so his part of the project is done. I have tons of morning glories to plant aslo on Thursday. It's starting to rain so I came in and am enjoying my nice cold Crystal light. -

Laura.. My DH is a minister so I know a little bit about wedding ceremonies! Do you have a minister picked out?? That would be important, cause if he's/she's worth squat, he'll/she'll have a couple of meetings with you to talk about marriage issues and the ceremony. I'd work on that detail before you get too involved in planning. He/she can certainly help you with the details of the ceremony. BTW unity candles can definitely be used if that's what you wish. -

Just got back from Curves and had a half cup of DH's beanless chili with some cheese melted on top. Dessert was a snack cup of mandarin oranges.. yums. I'm off to another rehearsal tonight and then will have my yogurt with Fiber Sure for my evening snack while I watch King of Queens. Everybody have a great night!!
