As with all band issues, each doc and nutritionist has different rules. Mine say NO carbonated beverages... ever!! And no bread, pasta or rice unless the bread is whole wheat and toasted is better than not. Also whole wheat pasta is ok if it goes down. The issue is the swelling of the food. Bread and pasta and rice tend to get stuck. Not something I want to experience so I avoid all of that stuff.

My doc's rules are not to drink 15 minutes before and 1 hour after a meal. BUT that's MY doc. As with all band issues, each doc and nutritionist is different. Do what YOUR doc says.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Good morning again!! The car is in and Ethan is here with a laundry basket over his head. That will keep him occupied for awhile!! TracyK.. I don't know about your restriction issues. I didn't think I had any restriction, but I now find that if I don't take a half hour to eat, that the food stays in my throat. I'm still trying to swallow the egg I had this morning. But I can eat my cup of food at each meal with no problems. And have never felt like throwing up... knock on wood!!! -

Good morning all you lovely Shrinky Dinks!! I'm up super early today so we can get my car to the custom cleaning shop at 8 before Ethan arrives at 8:15 for the day. Just finished my breakfast of 1 egg (double yolker, how the heck do I chart that????), 1 turkey sausage patty and some fiber sure. Got my Crystal Light in the freezer so it will be nice and slushy in an hour when I can drink it. Jennifur, I envy you the water aerobics class today. I don't know if my pool will be warm enough for that today. It got down to 55 last night and with all the rain, that will cool the pool temp off for sure. Hopefully the solar heater will help a LOT today. I'm anxious to get to Curves today to see how many inches I lost in a month. It's so amazing to me about how sizes differ on people who are almost the same height and weight. I'm at 189# and am 5'5" and wear a 16W pant, 1X shirt and 20W dress. My daughter weighs 5# less than me, is 2 inches taller and she can wear a regular misses 16. When I hear all of you talking about wearing size 16's and 18's, I wish i could be there too. I should make that one of my mini-goals.. to be able to wear misses sizes instead of big old WOMENS.... Well, I'm off to get dressed and get the garbage out and then get my car to the shop. Everyone have a great day and remember....... !! -

Kat.. I'm glad they didn't waste any time getting Kinsey back to the hospital. They definitely released her too soon. Sounds like a really bad virus if you all got it that quickly. My continued prayers to you, Kinsey and your family. Jennifur... great pics.. and what a difference!! You go, girl!! And your kids are cute!! Sure wouldn't guess your daughter was only 12!! -

Wooooooo hooooooooooo!! Great job on the jeans, Jennifur!!! I have so many clothes to put in my garage sale, I'll need the money to buy a new wardrobe. Ain't it a great feeling???? Just got back from a 9 mile, one hour bike ride with DH. I'm pooped, but I just love being outside and doing something good for myself and being able to do it with DH. The pool temp is only 78 so I'm opting not to go in tonight. Kinda wish the hot tub wasn't drained for the summer. It's going to really cool off tonight. I have grandson Ethan all day tomorrow. so I'll be checking in here when he's napping. Kat... prayers are still being raised for you and your granddaughter. Hope she's getting better and you'll be able to update us soon. -

Good evening all you lovely Shrink'n Violets. I hope everyone is having a great 4th! I rode in a Lincoln Continental Town Car during the parade today (wooooooo hooooooo) and then we went out to lunch. Had a couple bites of this and a couple bites of that at a buffet. Came home and then went to Walmart to get some things. We planted the last of our new plants for this year.. 3 hibiscus and 1 lamb's ear. We just finished dinner.. a few bites of meat loaf, 1/2 cup of green beans, some cottage cheese and blueberries and cantalope for dessert. We're headed out on our bikes in a half hour and then home for the rest of the evening. We don't like fighting the crowds to see the fireworks. We did enough of that when we had kids at home!! Everyone enjoy your evening and remember... tomorrow is a new day!! -

Hi all you lovely Shrinky Dinks!!! We're back home and I see there are lots of posts to catch up on, as usual. Can't you ladies slow down while I'm gone?? sheeeeeeesh!! Kat.. many prayers to you and your granddaughter. We went through that with my son when he was just a baby. It's very scary, but she'll be well taken care of by the doctors and nurses. Keep us posted on her!!! Well, my doc and I had a talk and since I had lost 7# since my last visit a month ago, he gave me the choice this time of a fill or not and I chose to wait until next month and see how I do. I told him I'm not hungry between meals and I'm eating what I'm supposed to and exercising almost daily. He agreed not to give me a fill this time, but said I probably would need one next time which is the 30th of July. DH had 3cc put into his Vangard 10cc band. He's lost 14# since his visit last month, but is only 6 weeks post surgery. He's doing just amazing and now with the fill he says he doesn't feel like eathing at all.. really not hungry and those words never were in his vocabulary pre-surgery! Laura.. the days are flying by fast!! We're all so excited for you!! DH has a wedding to officiate at on the 7th. It will be a Hawaiian themed one. Luckily we both have flowery shirts from our cruises cause you have to be in the proper attire to attend the ceremony!! Trackinks.. are you going to update your pic for July1? I love watching everyone's progress. Denise.. we've had the Turkey Mignons from Schwans. We just love them too. Just the right portion and sooooooo moist and tasty. Course, I'm betting one will be enough for DH and I to share now. We told the Schwan's guy not to come back until this month since we knew we couldn't eat most of the stuff they had to offer until we were both post surgery. Well, time to get things unpacked from the car. I had to rush on here as soon as we walked in the door. Am I addicted or what???? -

I'm going to take this body to bed before I start getting hungry reading all those yummy recipes. I got in two workouts today.. one hour on my bike and 40 minutes in the pool doing water aerobics. We leave early tomorrow morning to head down to the doctor for our fills. Will check in when we get back on Tuesday! Everyone sleep well tonight and remember to follow those bandster rules!! -

Ahhhhhhhhh just came in from a 40 minute workout in my pool. I just LOVE it! Got my water barbells and I do 50 reps of about 10 different exercises. Plus running around the pool 15 times. Bet that looks darn silly to the neighbors!! The water temp is 80 and the air temp is 66 so of course I try and stay in the pool as long as possible!!! Time to get my clothes ready for church tomorrow and then head to bed. I know it's early, but I read and watch some tv before nodding off. DH and I finally celebrated our anniversary dinner tonight. We went to Applebees and got their applewood chicken with mashed potatoes and spinach salad. It was soooooooooo yummy and we split the meal. Plus it didn't cost a thing except for a tip cause we had enough punches on our card!!! Everyone have a good eveing.. sleep well and remember to follow those bandster rules!! Are ya listening, Pam??? hehehehe -

Na na na na, na na!! I survived menopause. NO more pads, plugs or cramps for me! One of the perks of old age.
