Sorry.. I've tried and tried to edit my last post, but it won't let me in for some reason. The starting date should have been April 2. Wish I could make the post smaller, but like I said.. the edit feature won't let me get in.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Teachlady replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The rules for me are pretty simple, really. Eat three meals a day of no more than one to one and a half cups of food. Make wise food choices, heavy on the protein. No eating between meals, except for my evening snack which is usually lo fat pudding with sugar free whipped cream.. yums. One multi-vitamin a day plus one calcium chew. 64 oz of water daily and 30 min. of exercise at least 5X a week. And I think I'm more anal than hero!! lol -
Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Teachlady replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good morning all you lovely Violets.. It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood.. I'm setting out clothes for a garage sale and boy does it feel good to price those puppies and say... I'm never going to wear them again!! They are all good quality clothes.. some never even worn so I hope I get some good prices on them cause I need the money for clothes shopping. It's a vicious circle, isn't it!!! For those considering liposuction.. as Terry says.. be VERY careful. There is a new procedure out now that is an injection rather than a suction. It dissolves the fat cells. My daughter was telling me about it. Her DH is a Physician's assistant and one of the people he graduated with does the procedure. I might even consider it when I get to goal. But at my age, who the heck cares if I have an apron as long as I can fit into regular sized clothes! Not like I'm going to be wearing a bikini ever in my life. At least not out in public. Might be nice for the backyard pool.. Yes, I watched Big Medicine last night. The lady sure didn't get a lot of support from her bf, did she?? But glad they showed the surgery.... DH kept saying.. that was us.. that was us!! Lunasa.. glad the meds are kickingin for you. It will take at least 6 weeks before the full effect is felt. But sounds like they are making a difference already. TracyK.. I take a water pill once a week. It really makes a difference for me. Plus I take a laxative every 3 or 4 days. The fiber sure works to keep things soft, but I guess I need that extra "push". I know, I know TMI!!! Back to sorting and pricing those big clothes. Everyone have a great day and remember to follow those bandster rules. Though I don't know why coffee is banned for some!! DH has had it since day one after his surgery with no problems. -

I've had one fill and felt no restriction at all. I stick with the basics in eating and am doing very well. I didn't get a second fill on schedule because I was losing and not hungry in between meals and the doc gave me the option to wait another month. I go back on the 30th and probably will get a fill. My only problem now is eating too fast. I stay with the correct portions, but I don't spend 1/2 hour eating. Perhaps that will change with my 2nd fill. -

Haydee.. those things you mentioned are things my nutritionist said not to eat. Anything that can swell and get stuck is a no no.. bread, rice, pasta, pancakes, cereal.. etc. I know some people can eat them, but I'm not even going to try. I really don't ever want to PB if I can avoid it. -

Welllllll let me try this again. I had a post just about completed and the power went off. We're in the middle of a storm, but the good part is I won't have to water all my plants today!! The link to info about my bike is here.. Pedal Comfortably On The Revive! - contebikes.com It's made by Giant and is sooooooooo comfortable!! But it is pricey. I didn't pay what they are going for now. I've had mine for 3 years now. I first saw it on a show about soap operas, can ya believe? They were showing new products and the Revive was one of them. Lisa Rinna was riding it and said it was the most comfortable bike she ever rode.. so of course I looked it up and found out our bike dealer in town had one and it was the color I wanted.. RED!! The rest is history. Mdrai.... I forgot to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY yesterday. And yes, lapbandtalk is right on the ball with updating your age. Imagine seeing the big 6-0 here for the first time. Sure puts me in another category!! But I gotta tell ya.. I sure don't feel it! I'm sure that 60 is the new 40, right?? RIGHT???? Kat.. great news about Kinsey and glad Rick made it through the worst of it and is on the mend now. Ethan is here and getting into stuff already so I better go corral the child. Everyone have a great day!! And remember to follow those bandster rules!!! -

I have a kewl red and black helmet and I'm stylin'! Time to relax a bit and watch some tv. Grandson Ethan will be here tomorrow for the morning. Fun, fun, fun!!! Everyone sleep well and remember to follow those bandster rules!!! -

Tracy... I'd definitely say that constitutes a workout for you on your July Challenge!!! You'll have to take pics and show us the fruits of your labor. I jsut got back from Fashion Bug. They are closing their store here in Alpena and everything that is left is 50% off. I got some shirts, and some jeans and a few things in a smaller size. It's soooooooo nice to be able to go to the Misses side of the store instead of the PLUS side! Because of that fact, I'm not so sad about Fashion Bug leaving. They have really nice plus size clothes, but I am just about able to go to Penneys and get into the misses sizes there. Can I hear an AMEN?? I'm going to lie down for a little nap before we start working on the fencing. -

Jenn.. you're doing great on your weight loss! I know for me that I keep within 600-700 calories per day and I'm not hungry between meals. I don't snack between meals either. Here's what I ate yesterday.. BREAKFAST: 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 cup blueberries, 1 tsp. of Splenda brown sugar blend and 1 T. of fibersure mixed all together LUNCH:1/2 cup tuna salad on romaine lettuce, 1 lo-fat pudding with sugar free whipped cream DINNER:3/4 of a brat, 1/4 cup baked beans, 2 slices of cucumber with dip, 1/2 cup taco salad, 5 cubes of watermelon and 1 teeny, tiny sliver of caramel pecan cheesecake. I don't recommend my eating plan for anybody but me, but I do know it works for me! And I've never had a protein shake and don't ever want one!!! yucky, yucky, yucky!! I hauled fencing for well over an hour yesterday and though I'm really sore today it was a good workout! -

Good morning all you sleeping Violets... Today was weigh in day and I lost 2#!! Only 4 more to go before I hit -50 and THAT will be the most weight I have lost EVAH!! And the great part is knowing I can keep it off forever with the help of my lil friend. The only bad thing about weighing in once a week on Sunday is that I can't sleep on Saturday nights cause I'm so anxious to see what the scale says. I'm always amazed when it keeps going down. This is definitely the best thing I ever did for myself. DH lost 1# this week so he continues to do well too though he's not getting the exercise he should. Guess I better give him a swift kick in the keester and get him in the pool with me. I gotta go get ready for church. Everyone have a great day. Continued prayers for Kinsey and for our newly married lady, Laura!! Anyone remember when she'll be back???? -

Kat... I feel sooooo bad for you. I would not just go to the nursing supervisor, I'd go as high up the chain as I could go and write a letter to the board of certification of nurses. What you have described is unconscionable and needs to be addressed. Our continued prayers are with you, Kinsey and your family. Laura's big day today.. and record highs in Las Vegas.. she'll have lots to remember about her wedding day!!! Can't wait til she gets back and can share with us. Mdrai.. just remember my new mantra... it's not about the food!!! And on that note, I'm off to fix my breakfast.. lol Everyone have a great day and keep Kat and family in your throughts and prayers. -
Yew betcha it does!! And thank goodness for that. I never drank water before and now I drink 64 oz. a day. Lemonade is my favorite. I put it in the freezer and let it get all slushy. What a treat!!

Evening ladies.. Just finished a half hour on the bike. It was late when we got going so had to cut the time in half. But it still is a good workout and lots of fun. I really enjoy seeing all the landscaping in all the yards around town. Tomorrow we're going to work on putting up new fencing on one side of the yard. The fence we have now doesn't keep our yorkies in. We thought we had it fixed with green plastic webbing, but something is chewing through it and making holes big enough for our littlest yorkie to get out and boy does he RUN when he gets the chance. We have a wedding in the afternoon and then out to DD's house for a cookout. It's going to be 85 tomorrow and 90 on Saturday. Pool.. here I come!!! Everyone have a good night and remember...... -

Terry... My protein intake since surgery has always been about 40-50g per day. I'm comfortable with that and am so glad not to have to suffer through protein shakes. I know I couldn't possibly stomach them. That was one of the perks of having the doctor I have. He doesn't require them pre-op and says not to have them post-op. BUT you do what you need to do. TracyK... I take a vitamin every day. I use Viactiv chewables. They are my little chewy chocolate treat each day. Jenn....Amen to what Terry said..
