Good morning, Violets.. Short post before I get busy for the day. Ethan is here and I'm doing some laundry. When the Bobster gets up, we'll finish up the jobs in the backyard and then get packed and ready for the rehearsal and wedding. I don't have to sing at this wedding and it will be nice to be in the congregation, though I'd like to be able to sit with Bob, but he'll be busy hitchin' the couple! It's supposed to be 85 degrees today so I'll be sweatin' and missing my pool. Everyone have a great day and weekend. Be good to yourselves!

Hmmmmm summertime and the Violets are busy?? Ethan and I had a great time in the pool today. The water was a little warm.. 90 degrees!!! So the Bobster turned the heater down. 82 is fine for me at this time of year. While Ethan and I were swimming, Bob put the scalloped edging on our last section of flower beds. I got it half lined and mulched. We have to go out and get the last 10 bags of mulch tonight, plant the 6 plants I have for back there and then we are done with planning, mulching, and planting. Ethan's mom comes for him in an hour and then Bob and I will go out to eat and get the errands done. We leave tomorrow afternoon for a couple of open houses and a wedding rehearsal. Everyone have a good evening!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Bob should be done with his class now and be on his way home shortly. I'm trying to eat a sandwich for lunch. I have mesquite turkey, bagel thins for bread and 15 light ruffle chips.. a total of 4 points. Not bad if I didn't try and eat it like a normal person. I'm now waiting for this lump in my throat to slide down. Weight watchers is great and the band makes it even better cause it prevents me from eating too fast..usually... and also I am not hungry in between meals. Off to go jump in the pool with Ethan and do my exercises. I have my new, pink water dumb bells I'm anxious to use. Janie.. my knee is the worst it's been in a long time. Not sure why, but it's a reminder that I really need this surgery.

Good morning, Violets.. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day here with lots of sunshine. Time to work in the backyard again! Ethan arrives in a few minutes for the day. We'll be having some pool time today for sure. Bob has an ALL presentation today. (Association for Life Long Learners). He has 60 people signed up for it and that's a LOT!!! He is a very popular presenter. I will be glad when he's done today as he works so hard on it. We can relax in the yard the rest of the day. Off to get some breakfast and wait for Ethan to get here. Everyone have a great day!

Laura.. Bob had to have a slight unfill because of the acid reflux. I don't hear him coughing so much at night anymore. I really HATE that feeling when the bile comes up.. yuck.. It's a really dreary day here today. Just had my friend come over to check out the dogs and find out what to do while we are gone. I got a new dress for the wedding rehearsal and one for the wedding. Woo hooooo.. both size 16.. NOT 16W! This wedding is for the son of one of our friends from our former church in Lewiston. We had always planned for him to marry Kris, but neither of them saw it the way we parents did. :devil_smile: Janie.. your thumb is still bothering you?? You need to get that checked out. Less than a month before my knee surgery. I am so ready. I'm tired of not being able to do what I want cause my knee is hurting. I just bought a new bottle for my Crystal Light. It's 2.2 liters.. 8 glasses worth. Now I have this big honkin' mug to carry around, but at least I know I have drunk my day's allotment of liquid when it's empty. Plus I can build up the muscles of my right arm carrying it around! Off to get ready for choir. LAST ONE OF THE SEASON!!!!

Sure did, PamELa.. already cashed and spent. But you wouldn't know that cause you never balance a checkbook or statement.. arghhhhhhh Just balanced all three of ours this morning... to the penny.. always love it when that's done. And THANK YOU for the b'day card for the Bobster. He's such a Violet now..

Good morning, Violets.. It poured rain all night last night. Must have been the same rain Janie got. I need to work out in the yard today so hope it clears up soon. I have a friend coming over to meet the dogs. We have a wedding this weekend and will be spending the night Friday night so she will be coming over to take care of the dogs while we're gone. That used to be Joe's job so I needed to find a replacement. Luckily my friend Jane has volunteered to watch them whenever I need her. Bob is going in for a stress test this morning. He's very nervous about it . I'll be glad when it's done. He had an episode last week and we narrowed it down to acid reflux, but they want to do the test as he hasn't had one in a long time. My last choir rehearsal is tonight and our big Gospel Sunday is this Sunday. Then no more choir until September. I am wondering if the Pastor's wife will be in choir. She's very angry, of course, so I'm betting she won't participate. We shall see. Off to find some breakfast. Everyone have a good day!

Laura.. that is ridiculous about the appointment. I would have been bugging them every 15 minutes to see what the delay was. Waiting 2 hours when yours is the first appointment?? Unreal!!! Back from singing rehearsal and I'm going to head to bed and read for awhile. I'm really enjoying the House Rules book.. almost half way done now. Hope everyone had a great day. Sleep well.....

I agree, Haydee. There are hypocrites everywhere. It's just worse when you meet them in church, but you know that we are all God's children and we all have our faults. It's how we deal with them that counts. My church family is my second family and I'd be lost without it. But just like every family there are the ones you'd like to slap up side the head!! I just know that I feel sorry for this lady having to live a life of anger like she is now. Just typing my story to you all helps to get it out of my system. Yup.. the Violet sounding board works yet again!! And Haydee, your priest is a great guy. I hope our next pastor will be more outgoing and personable and not be so fixated on being the "dictator".

Ok Violets.. this will be a long post about the church. Feel free to just skip it, but I need to get it out of my system. On church Sunday when we knew that the pastor had resigned, Kris and family came back because he was not going to be preaching, the conference minister did. When Kris and family walked in, one of the members said under her breath... hypocrites. During the prayers of the people, my friend Kathy who has been very vocal about her dislike of the way the church has been going and the lack of leadership, asked us to pray for the minister and his wife during this difficult time. The same lady member who said hypocrite was sitting two pews ahead of us. She turned her head towards Kathy and mouthed the words "shut up, bitch". I didn't see it, but Kris did and she just gasped and couldn't believe what she had seen. It took a while for me to get out of her what happened, she was so taken aback. After church, when Kris was walking down the hall, the same lady passed by her and said "bitch" under her breath. Ok.. that's the long story. I'm so angry, but Bob says my anger only hurts me so I have to let it go. I know I will never, ever look at her the same again. She was so nice to us when we were there, fixing us beautiful meals during the Christmas season when things got really hectic. But I won't remember those things now, I'll just remember what she called my daughter and my friend. And this woman calls herself a Christian?? I just shake my head. I am glad I only have one more Sunday at church and then am off for the summer and don't have to deal with the drama for awhile. Ok.. back to reality and reading to Ethan.
