Even though Bob is an honorary Violet, I would leave him at home too. Would be fantastic getting together in that setting. Michelle.. check out dates in April of next year and rates. Might as well get something started!! Who knows.. it might just work out!! Jennifur... is it really your birthday today too???? Or am I reading it wrong? -

Just called and scheduled a fill for the 29th BEFORE the cruise. We had it scheduled for the 19th of Nov. after the cruise, but both Bob and I are getting hungry between meals and I don't want to get on the ship and start eating like we know we shouldn't. I'd rather be a restricted and have to be careful than to be hungry and grazing on all the food available. AND.. I put an ad in our local paper about a lapband support group. It appeared this morning and I've had 2 calls about it so far. I'm excited. I can't travel 4 hours one way for a support group and I knew there were others here in Alpena that had the surgery done, so I figured I'd put out the word and see if there was an interest. I'm going to wait until we have 6 people for sure and then get a room at the church and get started! I did steer one lady to LBT telling her it is the best message board online! She had her surgery done in June and had lost 55#. The gentleman that called had it done in 2003 and has lost 100#. He said he had not had a fill in a year.. amazing. Time to get lunch ready for Ethan and his grandma and grandpa. TTFN.. Chica....in Nov. we are going to the Western Caribbean, in February to the Eastern Caribbean and next October to the Eastern Caribbean again. So much to see and enjoy!! And who knows.. maybe by next October I'll be looking at a bikini.. HA.. looking at it, but buying a one piece!! -

Good Morning, Violets. Ethan has arrived for the day and we just finished breakfast. He had pancakes and fruit and I had cottage cheese and blueberries. Now he's down for a nap and I'm of course on the computer! We just booked our next cruise for Oct. of 08. They were having a special today so we got in and got all the perks. Soooooooo we go on a cruise on the 5th of Nov, the 24th of Feb. and the 12 of Oct. Looks like our vacations are pretty well planned out for the next year! I love it!! Michelle, the cabin looks beautiful. Bet you're having a super time. It sure looks like paradise to me! Laura...you're going to surpass all of us with your weight loss! And I remember when you said you didn't think the band was going to work for you!!! TracyK... tell me again what kind of job you have that you can read all day?? I wanna do that toooooooo!!! No wait.. I REALLY like being retired!! Pamela.. are you feeling back to normal now? Sure glad I don't have to go through the evaluation process anymore! I knew I was doing what I was supposed to but you never knew what the Kindergarteners would say with the principal in the room!!! lol As for the bracelet.. I wear mine every day and absolutely love it! So Terry is the famous one, not me! I better scoot and get dressed while Ethan is sleeping. I have a flute rehearsal this afternoon and choir this evening. Everyone have a great day. TTFN! Patience, Trust and WWJD??!! -

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ms. Jen!!! Congrats on losing the 50#!! Don't you feel GREAT???!!! I was looking at my pics from April and the ones Bob took a couple of days ago and I'm am just amazed at the difference. When I look a month at a time, I don't see that much difference, but when I look at the April vs the October pics, it makes me soooooooooo happy!!! So even though I'm at a plateau right now, I can see how far I've come and it gives me the motivation to keep on keepin' on. I just got back from the gym. Did my 30 minutes on the stationary bike and also did 30 minutes at Curves today. I always feel so much better when I get that done. When I sit on the bike in the gym, I think.. well, I'll just do 15 minutes and then when I get there, I think it's only 5 more to 20 and by then I'm on a roll and don't even worry about getting to 30 min. Such a different feeling for a once was couch potato. I'm going to go watch some tv and then hit the hot tub. Everyone have a great day tomorrow. Good thoughts going your way especially Tracyinks... Patience, Trust and WWJD??!! -

Tracyinks..you will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. My son and dil went through the same things. The finally got my granddaughter, Mara, free and clear in lieu of suport payments. It was the best deal ever. My son adopted her shortly afterwards and she's always called him daddy. This all happened when she was 4 years old. She's 11 now. Such a long battle and I hope yours turns out equally as well for you and your son. -

Good Morning, Violets. I've been to my staff meeting at church, done Curves with daugher Kris and had lunch with Kris and Bob. And now for my biggest NSV evah!! Kris left her jeans here after changing for Curves and when I went into the bathroom, I thought I'll just try them on. They are size 14 regular from Old Navy. No way would I think they would ever go over my belly....... welllllllllllllllll THEY DID!!! I could even wear them comfortably and even a big baggy in the butt. Now, the question is.. do I tell Kris I can wear her size?? Cause she's trying to lose weight and it might not be the best thing to hear.. that your 60 year old mom can wear your new jeans. She just got word that she passed her final for one of her nursing classes and so she can go on to the next phase of classes. She is really happy about that. I guess I'll just be quiet and enjoy the NSV with Bob. He gave me a double thumbs up. Kewl! Well, I'm headed for a nap now and then going to the gym tonight to do the stationary bike. Everyone have a great day and remember .... Patience, trust and WWJD??!!! -

Tracy.. your daughter is cute as a button. That smile on her face is one of the things I miss now that I'm retired from teaching Kindergarten. (However I don't miss the day after Halloween when the kids come in the morning with huge sugar buzzes!!) -

Lemme get this straight, Michelle... You did ALL that work for 2 nights??? YIKES!! But I totally understand. When we had guests from Germany we redid the guest bedroom and had it looking nicer than our own bedroom!!! But all the cooking and planning you did. WOW.. you deserve a relaxing week at the lake. Sounds like paradise. Enjoy yourself and your company!! Kat.. Shame, shame, SHAME on that minister for acting that way. I don't blame you at all for not going to the dinner. But I also know that someone should be told what is happening. That is just not right. The minister that was hired after Bob left the church here tries my patience a LOT. Bob retired from that church 4 years ago and then took a little church under his wing 40 miles from here. I went there with him for awhile, but then the church here wanted me to come back to direct the choir and I agreed because I do love the people so much. We spent 19 years ministering to them. But the new guy just doesn't have it. In his pastor's report for last month he told how many home visits he made. 1!!! 1 home visit in 30 days???? I couldn't believe it. AND we have a sister church in Germany and the relationship had dwindled away after Bob retired. A group of us are trying to get the relationship back on track and we were told by the minister that he "couldn't lead this project because he just has too many other projects to do". ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!! It's his JOB to oversee ALL the projects. Oh well.. nothing I can do by myself cause it will just sound like I'm tattling. There are times I wish Bob had never retired from there, but we both knew it was time. Just sorry they didn't take more time making their choice for the new person. There.. I've vented too. And on Sunday too... I'll probably get struck by lightning this afternoon while we're working on the boat. :faint: That's where we're headed now. Everyone have a great day. It's a beautiful one here. Bright sunshine, 57 degrees and lots and lots of color on the trees. Patience, Trust and WWJD!! -

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up early to get dressed and ready for church. Then Bob and I are going to DD's house to work on the boat we bought. We'll spend the afternoon there and then go out to eat before we head home. It's been yet another plateau week for me. Weighed in this morning and the scale hasn't budged. But then again it didn't go up either so I'll just keep plugging on and hope for a loss next week. I'm following the bandster rules and I upped my exercise lately so I should see some results soon. At least my clothes are fitting better and better and I can't complain about that at all!! Plus I'm getting more compliments each time I'm out and about. We had a very, very lazy day yesterday. I didn't even get dressed until noon and then just putzed around the house til we left at 4 to go to a memorial service, then out to eat at 5 with our cruising friends and then to the local community theatre to see Guys and Dolls. It was a very nice day and now back to reality and church and babysitting and all those other good things. The weather has turned really chilly and the furnace is on all day now. It's 37 here right now. We are enjoying the hot tub just about every night now and 3 weeks from today we'll be leaving for our next cruise. woooo hoooooo! I better go let the garage dog out and then have my breakfast. Everyone have a relaxing day today.. Patience, trust and WWJD!! -
Congrats to you, Julia.. I had my surgery done in April of this year at Port Huron which is a Center of Excellence. Good luck on your surgery and the beginning of a new life!

Good Morning, Violets.. A lazy day for me today. Bob is gone for the day and it's just me here. I have several errands to run and then will settle down with all my tabloids and catch up on the latest Hollywood scandal. We had another Lia Sophia jewelry party last night here. Daughter Kris was hostess, but it was more convenient to have it at my house. I went overboard on buying once again, but it really is nice stuff and I deserve it, right?? RIGHT???? Sunday is weigh in day for me and I'm hoping to lose a couple of pounds with all the exercising I've been doing this week, not to mention sticking to the bandster rules! Everyone have a great day today.. after all.... TGIF!! Patience, trust and WWJD! -

Good morning, Violets.. Well, after a couple of weeks of hauling out the clothes I had packed for our Caribbean cruise, it's finally back to sweaters and jeans with the temp right now at 45. Now THAT'S fall weather in Northern Michigan, not that Alabama/Texas 80 and 90 stuff that caught us by surprise. I'm sooooooooo glad I didn't have to teach in that heat. I'd be draggin by the end of the day like Michelle after her day in DC! Today is a kind of a lazy day. Just have to clean a couple of rooms for Kris's jewelry party here tomorrow night, take oldest son out to lunch and then choir rehearsal tonight and dinner afterwards with friends. I'll hit the gym with Bob this afternoon sometime. Tracy.. restriction is good.. it sure forces me to eat slow and little bites.. when I remember. Most times I forget and end up sliming a lot. Bob's restriction is nil. He can eat whatever and however much.. but he's trying to be good and follow the bandster rules. We'll give him one more week before we decide if we need a fill before we go on the Nov. 5th cruise. I've been noticing that you all have been focusing on the scales a LOT lately. Now that's not the WWJD way!! We ought to all have a Sunday weigh-in and leave it at that. Just mho. I would and DID go nuts weighing every day. Judy says "it's not about the food", but she also says.. "it's not about the scale." It's about how your clothes fit.. how you feel and all the compliments we get!!!!! There, that's my 2 cents worth for the morning. Everyone have a great day!! Patience, Trust and WWJD!!
