Tracy... I must confess to being a 12 to 12 poster. Never know when I'm going to get online and I always head here first. It's a lazy night here. No rehearsals or meetings to go to and I'm thrilled. Tomorrow I have Ethan and choir. Thursday we have a new store opening in town.. it's going to be similar to Kohls so I'm excited. I have a nail appointment at 11 and the dogs go in for grooming that day so it will be another busy one. Friday will be relaxing and then heading downstate for our granddaughter's baptism. We'll be gone Saturday through Monday. Once again, I'll be behind on posts for a few days. arghhhhhhhhh Well, we picked out a new ring from the jewelers catalog and will get to "preview" it on Thursday. I think it will be really pretty and more like a wedding ring than the glitzy ring I'm wearing now. Apparently I was in a glitzy phase when we got this last one. It is free form and has all the diamonds I own in it. The new ring will have my mom's diamond and chips and the other diamond and chip will go into a vale for my necklace and the "old" glitzy ring will have birthstone chips put in for all my grandkids so it will still be usable. Bob keeps reminding me he has had the same ring for 38 years. I keep reminding him I've had the same husband!!! -

Welcome back Kat!!!! We've ALL missed you!!!!! Glad to hear the good news about your cousin. Amazing what they can do now medically. Haydee.. I have a little bit of swelling in my knee, but not much more than normal. The fall was pretty comical.. sort of like a comedy skit. I took one step, touched the magazine on the stairway and it acted liked a snowboard. My right foot went straight out in front of me and my left foot bent back behind me. And I'm sure the look on my face would have been one to behold as I skidded down the steps. BUT, I'm doing ok today so just a lesson to be learned. DON'T put the Time magazine on the stairway. We're off to the jewelry store to see about a new mounting for my wedding diamond. Long story, but I'm on about the 3rd style of wedding ring. Luckily the Bobster is pretty patient and understanding about my whims! TTFN. -

Good Morning, Violets... Well, the hot tub really helped last night. I soaked and soaked and this morning my knee feels much better. There are lots of other parts of me that tell me I took a tumble, but I'll be fine. Just some bruising is all. Terry...so sad to hear about your mom. It's so hard to be the caregiver and realize that we now become the parents for our parents. I went through it with my mom and dad. I was so thankful I was able to get them moved close to me so I could take care of them. Originally they were 2 hours away and with both of them being deaf, it was a real challenge to make sure they were ok. Then, after Dad's heart attack, I got them to sell their lakefront home and move into an apartment just 1 mile from me and it was the best decision for everyone. They were both happy with their teeny apartment just as long as Bob and I were able to be there every day. And it was a comfort knowing there were people at the building that were watching out for my folks too. Mom died in 04 and Dad died in 06 and we were able to be there for both of them so neither one died alone. Well, I'm going to go do my hospital volunteer shift and then out to lunch with my PMS group. Then it's a lazy day.. no Ethan and no meetings or rehearsals. I'm going to refrain from doing any exercise though and that bums me. Jen.. my sympathies on your aunt's passing.. TracyK.. what kind of job do you have again that lets you work for an hour and then read all day?? I wanna job like that!!!! TracyinKS.. Positive Violet Vibes headed your way to help you through this big adjustment period. You're an angel for doing what you're doing for Cody. Let's hope he realizes the great gift he's been given and appreciates it as well. Everyone have a great day.. Patience, Trust and WWJD??!! -

Good evening, Violets.. Well, it was an eventful day today. I slipped and fell down the stairs this morning just before Ethan arrived. My problem knee which I have trouble bending was bent all the way back.. I could feel a blast of heat and thought for sure I had broken something. I was able to get up by myself (Bobster was at a funeral) and I don't think anything is broken, but I'm sure sore this evening. My back, arm and knee are telling me I'm getting OLD!!! I did get a cute email this evening so I'll share it.. I'm off to the hot tub to see if I can get a little relief. Everyone have a good night. 1. WHY DO MEN BECOME SMARTER DURING SEX? (because they are plugged into a genius) 2. WHY DON'T WOMEN BLINK DURING SEX? (they don't have enough time) 3. WHY DOES IT TAKE 1 MILLION SPERM TO FERTILIZE ONEEGG? (they don't stop to ask directions) 4. WHY DO MEN SNORE WHEN THEY LIE ON THEIR BACKS? (because their balls fall over their butt-hole and they vapor lock) (You're laughing, aren't you?!?!) 5. WHY WERE MEN GIVEN LARGER BRAINS THAN DOGS? (so they won't hump women's legs at cocktails parties) 6. WHY DID GOD MAKE MEN BEFORE WOMEN? (you need a rough draft before you make a final copy) 7. HOW MANY MEN DOES IT TAKE TO PUT A TOILET SEAT DOWN? (don't know.....it never happened) ( C'mon guys, we laugh at your blonde jokes!) And the personal favorite: 8. WHY DID GOD PUT MEN ON EARTH? (because a vibrator can't mow the lawn) -

Ooops, forgot one thing. Have you ever noticed when you get a new car, you don't ever notice how many of them there are on the road until you have yours?? It was the same on the cruise. I didn't realize how many overweight people there were until I got the band. Bob and I were constantly saying to each other.. LB, LB, when we spotted someone who we knew woulld feel better if they had the band. We sure are glad we have ours!!! As of this morning, I've lost 1# of the 3# I gained. Hope to lose the rest by this weekend and then head down towards goal again. I would love to be down 60# by our February cruise. It CAN be done!!! Patience, Trust and WWJD??!! -

Good morning, Violets. I slept in this morning and it felt sooooooooooo good. Love the good morning kisses from my two little yorkies. I missed that for the last week. But, it's back to reality today and cleaning up the last of the cruise "stuff" we have spread out all over. Ethan arrives at noon and Kris will be coming over after her classes at 1 so it will be a nice afternoon for me. Yes, the ships are THAT close to each other. Just a walkway apart. It's amazing to watch these HUGE ships squeeze into the smallest spots with such accuracy. If I was driving, I'd be ramming into everything while repeating the phrase.. Oooooooops!! Pamela.. you have your choice of menu each night in the dining room. This fisherman's platter was only one choice of about 8. I didn't eat the rice or much of the veggies. Had half the lobster and then went to the bathroom and pb'd. Didn't even finish the whole thing. But at least it tasted good going down! Hope everyone has a great day. The cabins look awesome for our trip in May. Can't wait!!!!!!! -

Good Afternoon, Violets.. Just got back from church and I'm back in the routine now except I still have my sea legs. I swear the whole church was swaying side to side today!! It will take me a few days to get rid of that feeling. The cruise was wonderful.. perfect weather and of course we hit the gym and the walking path. BUT we also ate and PB a LOT. Most I have ever pb'd since having the band. I felt like a bulimic. BUT, ice cream and homemade cookies went down slick as a whistle.. now 'splain that to me!! I love the idea of the CTC days. I'm in!! But I think I need to extend it to every day for awhile until I get back to where I was before the cruise. I know it will be easy this time cause I only gained 3# and with the absence of all the temptations, I should be fine by the end of the week. Then it's onward to my mini-goal of -70# by Feb. 24th, our next cruise. I'm going to go fix myself some lunch and then take a nice, long nap. Then I'll start working on getting the pictures into webshots and hopefully get that done by evening. And of course all the laundry is calling me. I packed WAY more than I needed. I bought some cute shirts onboard and the XL fit with room to spare. No more 2 and 3XL for me!!! -

Good Morning, Violets.. I just finished reading all the posts for the day and since we are out the door, don't have time to respond each of you personally.. BUT just wanted to pop in and say good bye before we head out. Everyone have a good week and I'll see you on the 11th. PATIENCE, TRUST AND WWJD!!!!! -
We're leaving for the Caribbean tomorrow and my suit is all packed. I'm gonna live by the pool and be proud!!!

3ccs is a lot. Liquids will go down better than food. Just wait til you eat solids and remember to eat slowly and little bites. It will sneak up on you!! DH didn't think he had restriction as his pills all went down slick, but when he started eating his steak last night, 3 days after his fill, it stuck. He's never had that feeling before and it was an eye opener for him. At least we know the band is working!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Boy, sure has been quiet here today. Pamela... what an awesome fridge!! Ya know, the cost of that little item is the same as the cruise we're taking!! Glad my fridge is working, cause I wouldn't want to miss this cruise!! I got all my little errands done today. I raked leaves and burned them and I guess I got a little too close, cause I now have a red forehead and cheeks. And I thought you could only get sunburned in November in the Caribbean!! We upgraded to a balcony room this morning and now when I'm checking the site, there are no rooms left except for Deluxe suites and that's just not me!! Gonna be full ship. The weather looks good for us and I'm excited to get on the ship and get going. I'll take lots of pics. We got a new camera .. today's special value on QVC.. lol Hope I can figure out how to use the dang thing before we get on the ship. I bought all my favorite tabloids today and left them in the car so I wouldn't be tempted to read them before tomorrow. I gotta have something to read on the plane!! The brownies are made and the Bobster and I split a little one.. just to make sure we weren't gonna make anyone ill at the funeral reception tomorrow. (somehow that just doesn't sound right!) Well, we're off to have fish and chips for supper.. or rather baked fish, coleslaw and baked beans. Then home to relax and make sure we have everything packed. I'll check back in later tonight. I sure am gonna miss not being able to talk to you all for a week!! I'll have pages and pages of posts to read when I get back. TTFN.. -

Good morning Violets... Today is a busy day for me. I'm trying to get all the little chores done before we leave tomorrow afternoon for our cruise. I'm doing laundry right now and will have to head to the bank and then get dog food and then make brownies for a funeral reception tomorrow.. and on and on it goes. But come Monday we will be on a big ship headed for the Western Caribbean and hopefully out of the way of Noel. This morning my cottage cheese and blueberries are getting stuck. I sure know I had a fill this time! Can't seem to get much down without that golfball feeling. But I'm learning to take it easy.. one little bite at a time. I was down a pound this morning so that's a good thing. The Bobster and I are going to weigh in tomorrow before we leave and we are REALLY going to work on losing during this cruise. I know I will have to have Key Lime pie in Key West, but we'll split a piece and that will be it. Then we'll hit the ship gym extra that day. Jennifur.. the right guy is out there for you. And trust me.. there are plenty out there who are not just interested in one thing. You just have to have Patience and Trust. I know it sounds like a sermon, but it's true. Keep your mind open to possibilities and he just might show up in the most unexpected way. I'm off to get some things done. TTFN.... -

Ohhhhhhhhh Pamela... you look ummmmmmmmmmm, really attractive!!!! YIKES!!! The trick or treaters have all gone and it's time for me to head to bed. I have Ethan again tomorrow for the day, but he comes at 8 instead of 6 in the morning so I can sleep in just a bit! We had about 35 kids stop by so I have a ton of candy left, but Kris said they could use it to toss during the Thanksgiving Day parade. Everyone have a good sleep tonight. Tomorrow is a new day, a new month and we just need to remember.. PATIENCE, TRUST AND WWJD!!! -

Trick or treating starts here in 6 minutes and I bet we don't get hardly anybody this year. It's raining!! Yuck!! I have 101 bags of candy and I bet I'm going to be stuck with them. But at least it's candy that would last if I want to save it for next year!! ewwwwwwwEveryone have a great evening!! -

Not to worry Michelle.. I just know how to copy and paste! CONGRATS on the -19#. That's awesome!!! I think we all are becoming evangelists for the band. Now that my "secret" is out, I'm glad to tell anyone about the surgery and how much I'm glad I had it done. We all need to spread the good word!! -

What a great birthday present!! You can let us all know just how pregnant she looks. Can't believe she's not telling anyone when it's so obvious. Oh well.. her decision! When I was pregnant with my first baby, we told the world, we were so excited!
