Ethan is here and has finished his breakfast and is resting now. I had a couple of bites of eggs and cheese and some of his mandarin oranges. Now I'm good to go til lunch. Or at least until my Crystal Light slushy in an hour. Kat... the picture I sent in the card is not the same one as in the signature. I wish I had waited til I found out about using Walmart online. Just got a batch of 10 more pictures yesterday that are way better than the ones I already sent out. Anybody want a new card?? lol Oh well, at least I know for next year!! TracyK.. I remember well the picture taking days at school. There were kids dressed up with hair looking sooooo strange. Don't know what some of the moms were thinking! They always did the Kindergarten pictures first, thank goodness, cause by an hour into the morning, their clothes were askew and their hair...well, we won't even go into that! Terry and Jennifer... sending you Purple Power vibes for a better day today.. -

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up early to be ready when Ethan comes. The Bobster is out with Jetta the garage dog right now. It got icy last night, but nothing like the ice storm other states got. We got just a glaze. Hope everyone has a good day today. Cindy, are you all packed for your cruise?? I always take my motion sickness meds the day before we cruise and then I'm good when the ship starts rockin'! Last cruise was an extremely smooth one, though. Hope yours is too! Gotta go get some breakfast.. TTFN... -

Evening, Violets.. Just got out of the hot tub. It's cold and windy out, but the tub is 103. Did all my toning exercises and then just laid there and looked at the stars. I do love that thing!! Cindy... RC is what we always take. Sovereign is the oldest ship, I believe and will be retired soon. We love the Mariner and will be on her again next October. This Feb. we are going on Celebrity for the first time. It's supposed to be kind of an upscale RC. We should be getting our documents next month. Only 74 more days til we cruise! Terry and Jennifer....... HUGS to you both. Hope tomorrow is a better day. Ethan will be here at 8 so I better get headed to bed. My Pistons won tonight, so I'm content. And dress rehearsal went well. Now hopefully choir will go as well tomorrow night. Everyone sleep well.. Patience, Trust, Purple Power, WWJD??!! Oh.. forgot to mention... the elliptical gets delivered tomorrow around noon! Hope the Bobster and I can get it up the stairs! The workout card came today. 24 workouts on a chip you put in the machine. I'm excited to see how that works. Now I'm outta here......... Nighters!! -

Good morning, Violets... We are under a winter weather advisory today. Supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow and some freezing rain. I have a headache so I'm guessing it's because of the weather. My voice is back in shape and the drugs did their job, thank goodness. No word from Laura since she inherited the $30,000. hmmmmmmmm :bounce: I'm off to do my hospital shift and then the bobster and I are going to haul the beds from the guest room into the garage. The elliptical comes on Friday!!! I've been working out on the glider and it's great. Everyone have a great day!! TTFN... -

I'm back from rehearsal and Ethan is in his crib trying to get to sleep. Thanks for all the compliments on the pics. We took a ton of them and I had some I really liked, but stupid me, when I uploaded from the camera I chose the "delete this pic when done" option and so I didn't have any on the chip to take to Walmart to make copies. The pic in the card was the second set we took. The ones in my signature and avatar are the first set. Live and learn!!! I've been reading about the ice storm. Hope all of you in its path stay safe!!! Cindy.. we have cruised out of Port Canaveral. It's very nice. And you're going to LOVE CoCo Cay. The beaches are wonderful and the water is beautiful, unbelievable shades of blue. What cruise line are you going on?? Kat.. That kid really needs help. Imagine lying like that!!! He's really messed up. Jane... so glad you liked the gifts. When I saw that sign, I immediately thought it would be a great reminder of what you've accomplished and will continue to accomplish!! I'm going to watch some tv, hit the hot tub and then head to bed. Everyone sleep well tonight!! Patience, Trust, Purple Power, WWJD??!! -

Evening, Violets... Just got in from the hot tub. Sure feels gooooooood!! The Advent Carol sing went very well.. we even got a standing O. I didn't tempt myself by going to the reception afterwards. There would have been cookies everywhere and I don't think I could have resisted. So home I went. Now it's on to Community Chorus rehearsal tomorrow night and Tuesday night for our concert Sunday. Wednesday is choir rehearsal and our Pageant is also next Sunday. After that, things will start to slow down a bit. I'll sing at Christmas Eve services and then be done until January. Choir gets a break over the holidays. (and so do I!!) Jane.. hope the sleep study goes well. Everyone sleep well. Patience, Trust, Purple Power and WWJD??!! -

Almost forgot... a lady that was at church today for the first time in about a month said... "hey, skinny!" as I was leaving after church. Love those NSV's!!! I know I'm not skinny yet, but I know I'm so different than what I was 8 months ago, and different than what I'll be 4 months from now!! It keeps getting better and better!!! -

Afternoon, Violets.. I'm back from church feeling better and better. My choir sounded awesome today!! We did a song called African Star Carol complete with African drums. We have an African drum group in our church and they're really very good... and very white.. lolol Actually one of the drummers is an adopted African American girl and she's extremely good. Here's a link to the song if anyone is interested... I know, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it sure sounded great today. http://switchboard.real.com/player/email.html?PV=6.0.12&&title=African%20Star%20Carol&link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.jwpepper.com%2Fram%2F10029857.ram Now on to the Christmas pageant next week... Sooooooooooo here's an article about the Vicks on the feet.. "I received an email recently about how doctor's found great results in reducing a child's night time cough by rubbing Vicks Vapor Rub on their feet, then putting the kid's socks on, and letting them go to bed. Now this email stated that not only were they getting good results, but the Vicks technique was working 100% of the time. Hmmmmmm, Time to test I have a young child and now that we are entering the cold season I figured I would have the opportunity to test this method out. Well, the doctors were right. One night I woke hearing my child coughing steadily in his sleep. Remembering the email that I received a few days earlier I decided to give the Vicks a shot. I went into his room and started applying the Vicks. Now, my child is a very sound sleeper and will sleep through anything, so me applying the Vicks to his feet did not even begin to stir him from his deep slumber. I tell you this because the results were amazing. After I applied the Vicks, but before the socks were even on I noticed that his coughing subsided and his breathing was deeper. I wanted to think that this was due to the fact that I had woken him up and he was simply not coughing 'at that moment'. That wasn't the case. He had literally stopped coughing all together. I went to bed that night and was questioned by my child during breakfast on how the socks arrived on his feet in the middle of the night... he didn't even know. The skeptic that I am was amazed, but still thought that it was just luck. Needless to say a couple nights later my child was coughing after a long Halloween night. Immediately I went for the Vicks Vapor Rub. Again, the coughing stopped upon application. I can't believe how well this works, but I wanted to share it with other parents out there knowing that a good night's sleep is like gold!" Pamela.. I don't know how anyone else is built, but my nose is far from my feet... not far enough to ignore the smell of Vicks, but far enough that I couldn't see how it would work, but it did!! It's the only email I've received that sounded stupid and turned out not to be.. lol On to lunch and then a nap and then the Advent Carol Sing this evening. TTFN... -

Good morning, Violets.. Just let Jetta, the garage dog, out and now sitting a minute before getting ready for church. Lost a pound this week. Just have to lose 4# before Christmas to get my next angel charm. I don't know if it was the Musinex or the Vicks slathered on the bottom of my feet, but I didn't cough at all last night and got a good night's sleep. Of course I'm coughing this morning, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore. It's 19 degrees out and a typical winter day here in Northern Michigan. I'm going to wear my new khaki skirt with my knee high suede boots and my Salvation Army sweater that everyone compliments me on. I love, love, love having choices to wear!!! I used to have clothes in my closet that just hung there cause they didn't fit. Now I have clothes in my closet that just hang there cause I have too many and they ALL fit!! Off to fix breakfast and get ready for church. Everyone have a good morning!! Patience, Trust, Purple Power, WWJD??!!! -

Im back from the hot tub all warm and cozy and ready for bed. I'm also very drugged up and am going to try the Vicks on the bottom of my feet that I heard about in email. Stinky stuff, but if it works, it will be worth it. Kat... your guys will be in my prayers for a safe return.Sounds like a mess driving out there! Everyone have a restfull night. Ok.. I'll try this again. Wrote a long post and when I hit send, the message came up.. "this page cannot be displayed"... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Terry.....YOU LUUUUUUK MAAAAHHHHVALUS!!! What an awesome outfit and what a great figure!!! You sure do look at goal to me!!! You go, girl!!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Kat.. congrats on getting all that wrapping done. I just have the Bobster's stuff to wrap and add a couple of gift certificates to restaurants for the kids and then I'll be done. I'm drugged up on MucinexDM and Zicam right now. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning. Rehearsal went well and so did the pot luck afterwards. I tried a bite of deviled egg and had to excuse myself.... when will I learn???? The Bobster and I just shared a fish dinner and I'm feeling full. We go for a fill on the 17th and I'm not sure I'm going to get one, if I do, it will be just a smidge. I PB enough as it is. Only time I'm hungry is in the late evening and that's just head hunger. Got to control the hungry Lion!! I'm going to hit the hot tub early tonight. It seems warmer than the last few nights because the wind has stopped. Maybe some hot water will help loosen up this congestion I have. Will check back before I hit the sheets. TTFN.. -

Morning, Violets.. I got home at 9 last night and went right to bed. Slept pretty good til 1 and then was up with a coughing spell. I ran out of cough medicine.. the only one that works for me is a script one so I'll have to ask my doc at choir rehearsal today for a refill script. Rehearsal is from 9:30 - noon with a potluck afterwards. Then I'm coming home and crashing for the day. Got to shake this dang cold somehow. Zicam, do yer stuff!!! Saw someone the other night at rehearsal that came up to me and told me I was getting skinny. Those NSV's are the best! Got to go curl my hair and get on the road to rehearsal. Organist and I are decorating the tables and getting the punch so I need to be at chruch early to help her. Everyone have a great day! Pamela.... I've told you before.. my church's mantra is... no matter who you are, or where you are in life's journey... you're welcome here! Obama and I are proud to be UCC!! TTFN!! -

Afternoon, Violets. I feel like crap today. Cold has gotten worse and I tried to take it easy today. I did get my Christmas cards in the mail and got my appetizer made for the PMS group dinner tonight. I really, REALLY don't want to go, but have to make the effort cause one of the pastors is retiring and leaving the area and this will be the last chance to see her before she goes. Nice article in People magazine today about a 17 year old who had gastric surgery.. and it was LAP BAND instead of RNY!!! She's very pleased with her progress and has lost 54# since June. The article sounds like it could have been written by any one of us. Just so happens she is only 17, so that's the big issue. I sure wish I could have done it when I was 17!! Just wanted to check in and I'm going to go back and be a couch potato until time for the dinner. They are having lasagna and I really am not hungry today at all. Guess I'll be picking at it and hoping nobody notices. Take care... TTFN... -

Evening, Violets.. My SS gift is in the mail and should arrive on Monday, or so UPS tells me. Gina.. I also sent the clothes out and they should be at your doorstep on Tuesday. Hope they work out for you!! Tracyinks... you're a cutie patootie!! Love the hat and scarf! Well, the Bobster got the outside lights done today while I was doing my hospital shift. We went out and got stamps so now it's time to hunker down and get some cards in the mail. Gotta go to rehearsal in a couple of hours and dinner is in the oven. Pamela.. so sorry to hear about Suzanne. My dad had Meniere's disease too and knocked him for a loop when he turned 40. I remember him off work for weeks and not being able to get out of bed. Kat.. I'll do what I can for you but my pull isn't any better than anyone else's. Now the Bobster, on the other hand might be able to help ya out!! Catch everyone later... TTFN! -

Morning, Violets.. No Ethan today so I can get some chores done. Going to do my shift at the hospital and then get my SS gift in the mail plus some other stuff to mail and also get my stamps for Christmas cards so I can get started on them. I got our annual Christmas letter all done so that's one to check off the list. TracyK.. so scary about your sister, but glad it turned out as a wake up call only. I quit smoking the day I found out I was pregnant back in 1974. Have only had lapse when Bob's dad got sick, but stopped within a week or two. It was the same for me as it was for Suzie.. smoking one day and done the next. And I too wish it was the same for eating junk stuff. I'm at my lowest weight now since the 1990's and I'm sure I'm at a set point, but I'm working to get past it. Got the glider set up in our bedroom and the elliptical is on it's way here and should be here by the beginning of next week. The Nordic Track one we are getting was on display at Sears and I tried it there and was very happy with how it felt. I want to get another angel charm before Christmas so have to work off 4# in 2 and a half weeks. That's my goal and I'm stickin' to it!!! I'm off to start all the events of the day. Only one rehearsal tonight for Advent Carol Sing and tomorrow I have Ethan all day so gotta get my poop in a group... no Terry... not a preacher's wife's translation, but a Kindergarten Teacher's translation of gettin my shit together!!! I know, I know.. I'm a role model, but dang, that word slips out of my mouth much too frequently!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Everyone have a great day!!! TTFN... -

Good Morning, Violets.. Suzie... our prayers are with you this morning. Let us know houw you're doing asap. I feel a bit better this morning. Been using the Zicam and I really think that stuff works. Our roast chicken last night was absolutely the best. It is Perdue roasted chicken cook-in-bag. I even emailed the company last night to tell them how good it was. It was very, very moist and juicy and lots of gravy from the juices. I'm trying to choke down my cottage cheese and blueberries as I'm typing this. I have to be at the church for a flute rehearsal at 9. Then the Bobster wants to show me some Christmas lights at Walmart. He says they are pretty neat.. LED lights. The inside of the house is decorated, but not the outside yet. We're way behind schedule with that because of the snow storm. Tracy.. hope you get that extra bonus!! I hope to get my SS gift out by the weekend. It's all wrapped and ready for some stuffing in the box and then I'll take it to UPS. Just have to find the time to do that!!!! My car is warming up so I better get my poop in a group and get going. Everyone have a great day!! Patience, Trust, Purple Power, WWJD??!! -

Good evening, Violets... I wrote a whole novel this morning and it got lost. I was so ticked, I just walked away. grrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm not going to attempt to reconstruct it. We'll just start fresh. Laura!!!!! Look at you!!!! Wow.. I wish my belly was disappearing like yours is. You're not going to need a TT at the rate you're going!!! Awesome!!!!! Suzie... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! Definitely indulge on your special day. As the Bobster says... if you're going to sin, sin boldly.. lol Well, I went to the dentist this morning and had two fillings. I didn't feel good when I got up. Had a sore throat and ear ache. After the dentist, I came home and did nothing the rest of the day except for getting our Christmas card pics taken and printed out. I blew off our retired teacher's Christmas party, bell choir and New Day singers. Hopefully I'll feel like doing stuff tomorrow since I have a ton of things demanding my attendance. arghhhhhhh I got a khaki long skirt from Eddie Bauer today in the mail. I ordered a 16 thinking I could wear it later, but it fits now!! Even with a zipper and snap closing! For me that is a big NSV! Time to get supper on the table. I have a whole roasting chicken in a bag in the oven. It smells wonderful. Gonna fix some carrots and broccoli and call it a meal. Everyone have a good evening.. TTFN... -
