Good morning, Violets.. Thanks for the birthday wishes. And Happy Anniversary, Dolores!! Ethan is here and I am hoping we can get in the pool today and so some swimming. Nothing else on my agenda except dinner out with the family. I get a free steak dinner at our local restaurant and the kids got us an anniversary gift certificate to the same restaurant so the Bobster and I will both have free meals tonight. Can't beat it! Bob got me a beautiful Lobelia hanging plant. It was my mom's favorite flower so I try to get some each year. I loved the Julia's Chocolates book! I just finished Hannah's List. It was pretty predictable, so only one thumb up on that one. I really liked House Rules, though. On to one of the two I just downloaded, Violet Dawn and the Double Comfort Safari Club: The new No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency novel. Will let you know what I think when I get into them. Off to find some breakfast and then start my day. Everyone make it a good one!!

Good evening, Violets.. Ok.. I just booked my flight and I have a question. It asked if I wanted to rent a Harley at the PSP airport. Do I? I've had a very relaxing day. Kris came over and we had lunch together. Then it poured and I did some shopping. Bob is on his way home and I need to fix dinner. Then we're headed to see Betsy. I'm taking her her favorite thing......chocolate! I made peanut butter cookies today. I use the 3 ingredient recipe and they are delicious!! 1 cup P'nut butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 egg. That's it. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 and they are done. Everyone have a good evening!

Good morning, Violets.. Looking like a yucky day today. It's my first Wednesday with NOTHING to do! No rehearsals, no choir, no Ethan, no nuthin! I was planning on working in the yards and then swimming for the afternoon. Not gonna happen with the storms I see on the horizon. sighhhhh I'm going to look at plane tickets today. Won't be able to get anything until next month, but at least I can check schedules and prices. The Bobster is working today so I'm by my lonesome all day. I guess I can finish my book and look for a new one. I don't feel like doing any housework today, but might have to break down and do a little. Bob and I will go visit my friend Betsy at the hospital today. She had surgery yesterday and I got to see her for a minute after my hospital shift. So much drama happening at the church now. Picky, petty little things. I can't wait for things to be done on the 18th and then work to get things back to where they should be. Off to find some breakfast and start my uneventful day! Everyone make it a good one!

Good evening, Violets.. What a nice day today. I got to be in the pool for an hour this afternoon. Did 1/2 hour of exercises and 1/2 hour of floating around waiting for the sun to peek out. It did now and then, but of course now that I'm done and changed, the sun is out full time. Hopefully it will be out tomorrow as I don't have anything on the agenda at all!! I'm finishing up my leftovers from dinner last night. yummy shrimp and sweet potato fries. Then I have singing rehearsal at 7. Home and putting the cover back on the pool and then relaxing for the evening. I'm 60% through with the book Hannah's List and it's a good read. I'm going to head to Amazon and see what I want to get next. Mae.. my surgery is July 14th. I see my family doctor on the 27th for the all clear, then the ortho on the 6th, pre-surgery stuff and a class about what to expect. I have an unfill on the 8th, Garden Walk on the 10th and then surgery on Wednesday the next week. I'm ready to have it over so I can get to the rehab and get back to being able to walk without pain and pressure. The pool has been great. I can jog around and not feel the pain. I run 25 times around the 18ft. circular pool. That and the water bar bells are a good workout. As far as gender tests.. I was never sick a day with any of my pregnancies. Going by the age at and date of conception, it was wrong two out of three times for me. Never did the ring test, though I've seen it done lots. Haydee and Laura.. are you going to find out what you're having or be surprised?? Me? I'd want to know. Daughter Kris? Not at all.. drives me nuts!!! Course maybe she'll change her mind when she gets pregnant again. She's lost 15# on WW and is working toward getting her weight down so she can think about getting pregnant again. I'm gonna need a new baby to love on once Ethan leaves me.. :smile2: Sure would LOVE it to be a little girl. Off to finish dinner and get to rehearsal. Everyone have a good evening!

Good morning, Violets!! We had rain last night which was great because Bob mowed the lawns yesterday and we got all the new plants planted. Now they got a good soak and a good start. We are done planting and just need to do some clean up stuff. I need to put some mulch behind the pool and then all beautifying tasks will be done. PamELa... I for one don't need the spa. Never done it, not really a priority for me, but that's just me. Disney Land however would be wonderful! I have a teacher friend who lives in Irvine and goes to Disney Land every week. Would be nice to see her. We taught together for years and years. Yesterday, the Bobster and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner. I had lightly battered shrimp, sweet potato fries and a Michigan salad (fruits, greens, nuts) and some chocolate cake. I ate 4 of the shrimp, 3 fries and 1/3 of the salad and a few bites of the cake. Bob had a HUGE, thick slice of prime rib, twice baked potato, cup of soup and the cake. He ate almost everything.. time for a fill!! We had to stop at the church on the way home cause he said he overdid it on the...........cake. HA!! He overdid it on the whole meal!!!! He pb'd most of it and when he was done we went out and looked at some of the gardens on the tour. There are 8 this year and I have to say I'm very proud of ours. I just finished my hospital shift and then went and visited my friend Betsy who just had surgery. She's doing well and will be home Friday. A group of us will be providing meals for a week for her family starting on Friday. I have Saturday and we'll be getting the family BBQ meal for them. Lots of good stuff to eat and I don't have to cook! wooo hoooo.. She's a skinny chocoholic (is there such a thing?) so I'll make something chocolate and sweet for her. I'm going to try and get in the pool again today. It's cloudy, humid and cool, but the pool water should be warm. Got to get my exercise in even if I can't work on my tan. Everyone have a great day!!

Good morning, Violets.. Well, 41 years ago, it was a beautiful, cloudless day and I married my best friend. Best decision I ever made, besides the band of course. I made him a shirt that says Mulch Man. Will take a pic after I give it to him. I will haul out the anniversary card I have had for 32 years and we look at every year. It has one of those little spinner dials so you can set it at the right number. Think of the money I saved on an anniversary card over the years. Hey!! That's about $100... I think we'll celebrate today! Actually, we are going looking for a bench and some flowers and then working in the back yard, taking the dogs to the vet and lounging in the pool after planting plants and mowing the lawn. We'll have a nice dinner out and that will be our day. I sure hope we don't get storms today!!! Son Joshua who lives 7 hours away has been hit by some powerful storms lately. Last one had 100 mph wind gusts recorded and took out lots of trees by him. We have had nothing close to that at all. Just hope it stays a nice day today. Good news about your cousin, Mae. Off to find some breakfast. I already had my first of three glasses of chocolate milk today. yums. Everyone have a great day!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Well, Gospel Sunday was the usual success and now the choir and I have the summer off. We don't start rehearsing again until late August. I just got in from exercising and then floating around the pool. It's 75 out and the water temp is 80, so I cranked the heat up just a smidge. 82 is a little more to my liking. Janie.. I think LAX has something to do with constipation. At least at my age, it does. Been looking at tickets to Palm Springs.. looking like $380. Just have to coordinate with everyone. Some of them have a 4 hour layover and I'm trying to avoid those! Off to look at more plants... Everyone have a good evening!

Back from the wedding. It was really windy, but that was ok, cause if it hadn't been, it would have been sooooooo uncomfortably hot. Check out this picture... and this was the table assigned to us.. not one PamELa picked out for us!!
