I bought a recumbent bike, glider and elliptical machine. Our guest room is now a home gym! Plus I go to Curves too.

Great meeting you and your mom today, Pike!!! Sure was a chatty group today since most of the people were there for the first time. Best wishes on your new life starting on the 16th! Can't wait to hear your success story! Stay in touch...I'm on here all the time.... Except for next week, we'll be in Florida, but I'll try to get on the computer at our friend's house to keep in the loop!!

Gotta tell ya, I'm disappointed too. I'm not a drinker and casinos are not my thing especially with all the smoke. I just loved the looks of Splash Mountain and would have been very happy in a house with all my Violet Sistas. Please let me know what the plans are for this get away, cause if the casino is the main focus, I'm not sure I want to spend my time in a hotel room while the rest of you are out doing your thing. I know, I know. should have said all this before, but I was sure Splash Mountain would win just cause it looked so darn good. Oh well. Live and learn. An a more positive note, I had 14 people at the lapband support group meeting today. What a great time we had!! Everybody talking and getting to know each other. Hopefully they'll all continue coming and we didn't scare anybody away!!

Tracy... the post you are referring to was meant for all of us. It did not single you out. There was a space between what Michelle wrote to you about not assuming and what she wrote to all of us about voting our own conscience. Not worrying about what is best for someone else. You need to reconsider. I've gone through this many time in chat rooms. They words you see typed can be interpreted in many ways. You have to consider the intent of the author. Michelle would never hurt anyone's feelings or single anyone out to be rude. She's not like that and you know that in your heart. Step back. breathe And let's all figure this out together, K? This is a trip for the Violet Sistas who have been supporting each other through good and bad for almost a year now. Let's not turn it into something devisive. I love you all and we need to stay focused on our goal, weightwise and "gettin' together" wise.

Hello all. I had my surgery April 10, 2007 when I was 59. I turned 60 in June. I have lost 60# so far and this surgery was the best thing I've ever done for myself. My DH was banded May 22, 2007 when he was 61. 8 days later he turned 62. It's been a lifesaver for him too. He has lost 45#. We both have had 4 fills. I am at 2.8cc in my 4cc band and he is at 7 in his 10cc band. I can't say that it's been smooth sailing all the time, but since the holidays we have gotten on track and I'm feeling so good with lots of energy. Hope we all get to know each other better in here! All us old farts need to stick together!!

Thought maybe you would like to see my DD and her hubby. I don't know if I've mentioned it before but my DSIL is 7 feet tall. He takes all the comments in stride, but it can get annoying. I made him a t-shirt that has a wide eyed guy pointing a finger and it says. (close your eyes, Kat) "Damn, you're short!" This was taken at the Pistons game a couple of weeks ago. The shirt I'm wearing was tight on me last year. Just like your shirt, TracyK!!

Good evening, Violets.. Just got done with 10 minutes on the bike and 10 minutes on the glider. When I get back from Florida, I'm going to have to start upping the minutes on each gradually. I used to ride the bike 30 minutes at the hospital gym, but can only do 10 minutes here cause the tension is so much tighter. But at least I'm sweating and getting a workout!! Michelle.. remind me to vote before midnight tonight, k? I'm a bit queazy right now from swinging back and forth, back and forth, back and....... well you get the picture. And I bet you're trying to smack it outta your head right now!! TracyinKS.... everytime I look at you signature picture I am so amazed at how far you have come!!! Your face looks sooooo skinny now!! Listen everyone....... do you hear it???? It's the sound of tickers moving ever so slightly each and every day for a Violet Sista!! How kewl is that??? The bobster and I went out and about today. His Bible Study was cancelled due to the weather, so we were able to enjoy the day together. We went to Penneys and yes, we DID buy some stuff. Today lots of things were 70% off. I got some size 16 stretch cord jeans and have to take them back cause they are too big. I also got some size 16 capris and have to take them back cause they are too small. go figger!!! I bought a $62 sweater for $18. It fits me like my 22/24's used to... a bit snug.. but then again. it's a MEDIUM!!!! wooooooooo hooooooooooo It'll be great for next year. Got a cute yellow fleece terry hoodie for Florida evenings. also got a new printer/scanner/copier/fax for the puter. I don't have a land line phone, but the software in the printer allows you to fax through the puter. Technology.. ain't it great?? Well, the Bobster has fixed dinner.. he put the leftovers in a bowl, stuck them in the microwave and pushed the button. soooooooooo time to go eat. Catch ya later!!

Good morning, Violets.. EVERY morning is TGIF when you're retired. I'm getting ready to head out for my nail appointment, then the hospital shift and then hit the bookstore. We got some snow last night, but not the 6 inches they were predicting, thank goodness. Today should be the day when all the votes are in so we know where we're going in May. Michelle... ummmmm did I remember to vote?? You know me and that brain thing!! hehehe Tomorrow is our lapband support group meeting. I've had calls from several people who have said they were coming so hopefully it will be a good group. In my next announcement in the paper I'm going to specifically invite bypass people too. If there are enough of them, they can break off and do their own thing. but for now it would be interesting for all of us to compare notes. BEtter go get my hair and makeup on for the day. My Pistons beat the Spurs by 10 points, fire has died out, snow is coming down, got all my water in and did great on eating today. Did my bike, my glider and my toning exercises in the hot tub. I'm heading to bed. Everyone sleep well. Stay warm. Drink your water. Give yourselves a hug just for being you. Nighters!!

Evening, Violets.. Back from my church meeting and watching my Pistons play. It's halftime so I have a few minutes. Going to take pics tonight in my swim suit. It's been 2 months since I took any pictures. I didn't realize it had been that long!! Hopefully I'll see a difference. TracyinKS...(((hugs)))to you. I know how difficult it can be. Been there, done that.. just like we all have. We have a fire going in the fireplace in the living room. All nice and cozy.. and petite (the fireplace, not me)! It's really little, but sure is nice to look at. Someday I hope the same can be said about me! Tomorrow is nail day and then working a the hospital a bit more, then to the book store to get a pressure cooker recipe book. Just got a Nesco pressure cooker and I fixed pot roast in there tonight. It was a Walmart piece of meat and it was so tender when it was done. And took 35 mintues to finish!! Of course I haven't had beef in a long time and PB'd 3 times during dinner. And I was eating little pea sized bites... just wasn't going down. Halftime is over.. gotta go support my boys. Will check back later..

Good afternoon, Violets.. Just back from my hospital shift and Ethan is here. I fed him lunch and he's now napping. Time for me to get on line and then hit the bike and glider. After I hit them, I will get on them and do what I'm supposed to do. Anyhoo. Michelle!!! EXCELLENT! Take it from me, it is so nice not to have to squeeze into a plane seat and hope your gut doesn't spill over into the next seat. Now I can even cross my legs after I slip into the seat. It's such a great feeling! We are still under a winter storm watch. 8 inches by tomorrow evening. As long as the roads stay good for us to get to the airport on Monday, I'm ok with all the snow. We have a 5 hour drive to the airport and will leave after church Sunday, spend the night at the park and fly Ramada and then take off Monday. Then it's fun in the sun for 6 days. Can't wait!! Ethan is very quiet so I better get upstairs and get my exercising in! Will check back later. TTFN...

Good evening, Violets.. Just in from the hot tub. We are under a winter storm watch for tomorrow. 6 inches of lake effect snow expected. Florida is looking better and better for next week! Kat, you take care driving tomorrow. Hope and pray all goes well with your dad. And prayers for you in the hotel room alone with your mom!! No update on the elliptical, Suzie. Still waiting for the part to see if that will fix it. As soon as I can get to a Sears store, I'm going to check the display model and see if the handlebars move like ours does. Our Sears store here is just a very small one with mainly appliances, lawnmowers and snowblowers. At least the glider and bike work fine. Cindy.. thankfully I don't have any problems with BM's anymore. Guess the water helps me. used to have terrible problems with constipation, but since I've been drinking so much water....no prob-lem-o. Pamela.. so sorry for those young girls. And they say teaching is a cushy job. Twice in my 32 years of teaching I had to deal with a kindergartener dying and believe me, that is REALLY tough!! Good afternoon, Violets. Well, it looks like I am officially a size 16 now. Sweaters are a size L in Alfred Dunner stuff. I tried on a black halter dress size 16 and it fit. I have not been in a size 16 since college!! And nope.. didn't buy a thing. I was just having fun trying everything on. Laura.... WOW.. you are lucky you didn't lose your wedding rings before you could get them in to be resized!!! And you're only at 1.5cc??? and Tracy...2.3?? Yikes!! I have 2.8cc in my band. I'm hoping it's my sweet spot cause it seems to be working well right now. I know for sure I'm not going to get a fill when we go down on the 21st. I have a good restriction and am not hungry in between meals right now. Pamela.. I'm just going to read your posts with my eyes closed from now on!!! I'm off to watch some tv and clean up the kitchen from lunch. TTFN....

I might be wrong, but when I got to the end of looking, it said since I was booking as a single, that I had to pay full price for the hotel room. that boosted it up into the 3-4 hundred dollar range. And more if we wanted to upscale the hotel. Granted, still a good price..
