Sue, first thing I did was arrange for a place to meet. We meet at our church. I put a notice in the paper and we went from there. We have had 4 meetings so far and the group is growing. Hope you have the same success!! The first meetings are just getting to know each other and telling our stories. Later, we hope to bring in speakers.

Hey Marv-Sue.. another Port Huron Bander!! Glad to have you here and glad to hear your surgery went well. DH and I were banded in Port Huron.. me April 07 and he May 07. I've lost 60# and he's lost 45# so far. We'd both do it again in a heartbeat. Nothing to be scared of!! We're all in this together. Once you go back on mushy food, don't be surprised if the scale doesn't move as quickly. Matter of fact, I suggest you weigh once a week instead of every day cause that tends to be a little too frustrating. Back from the funeral and finishing up my 2nd liter of water for the day. Got lots and lots of compliments today about the weight loss. And the best NSV was one lady saying those words I haven't heard in years and years and years.... "you're not going to lose much more weight, are you???" Never thought I'd hear those words, but it sure felt good. Yep, I said. got 23# to go to my first goal. Another lady said.. "I have two things to ask you. #1, will you be in Menopause the Musical if I get the rights for it and #2, tell me about lap band cause I really need something" Soooooooooooooo I just might be in a local production of Menopause the Musical. That's what I get for singing in public! And I invited her to the support group's next meeting Feb. 9. Funeral service went well. Reception afterwards was cookies, fruit, cheese and meat. I had some fruit and a couple cubes of cheese. I had to keep pushing the Bobster away from the lemon bars as he was telling me that lemon was a fruit so he could eat as many as he wanted. arghhhhhhhhh Tonight he has Bible study and I have to sit down at my keyboard and really work on some trouble spots in a couple of the songs my acapella group is getting ready for our concert in March. Tomorrow is hospital volunteer shift and rehearsal in the evening. Daughter Kris is coming over to spend the night and we'll do our Curves workout. Got to go check on dinner. chicken enchiladas from Schwans. Yums. TTFN....

Good morning, Violets. Getting up and around after sleeping in til 8:45. Got to head to the church and rehearse my songs for the funeral this afternoon. After reading Terry's Tip of the day, it dawns on me that I was supposed to give the tip yesterday.... duh!! Oh well, I'll be back in the groove next Sunday, I hope! Jennifer... don't postpone and wait for the pain to go away. You need to tell your doctor now. Specially if you've had it for a couple of weeks and it's getting worse. That ought to tell ya something!!! Just finished my cottage cheese and FRESH blueberries.. Walmart had a sale on them this week. Will check back after the funeral. Everyone have a great day!!

YIKES!! My hair froze out there!!! Now that's a strange feeling .. to have crispy hair! I'm headed to my video program so I can see and talk to my guys from California and Alabama. Haven't been able to talk to them for a week. Everyone have a good night. Stay warm and sleep well!

The flight I'm looking at leaves Saginaw, Mi. at 10:25 a.m., hits Detroit at 11:12. 2 hour 23 min. layover.. leaves at 1:35 and in SA at 3:44 p.m. Monday it leaves SA at 9 a.m. and I get back to Saginaw at 2:21 p.m. Wish I could get in earlier on Friday and leave later on Monday, but I'm not finding that possible. I'll keep looking, though.

Evening, Violets.. Well, I think I'm back on track now with everything. Just cleared out over 100 emails that had accumulated while I was gone. So much junk mail! And I don't mean spam. I mean junk mail from people I know! Trip to florida was good. The weather was very chilly. Now I remember why we usually go in February or March. No sitting at the pool reading this time. I did get in and swim twice. I did all my water aerobics in the pool and in the hot tub. My friend Laurie who had the gastric bypass looks good, but still has a ton of weight to lose. I am way thinner than she is. She bought a new bathing suit.. size 16. I tried on the same suit in a 16 and knew I couldn't wear it in public. She showed me how it looked on her and I gotta tell ya, she looked like a sausage stuffed in a polkadot casing!!! I just can't go out looking like she did, but she had no problem with it. go figger. We saw the play Drowsy Chaperone. It was really cute and I got to talk to Georgia Engel in person after the play. She had a part in the play.. and you might know her from the Mary Tyler Moore show (showing my age), or Everybody Loves Raymond. Also went to the movies and saw 27 Dresses, Charlie Wilson's War and The Bucket List. I enjoyed all of them. Tracy... hope Macy is doing better today. I have motion sickness meds here in case I ever get nauseated. I got mine online, but you can get them over the counter at Walmart. Pam, Pam, bo bam, banana fana fo fam..fee fie mo mam.. Paaaammmmm. Whatevah the heck you're called.. I will do my best to be there. The best I can do on plane tickets so far is $376. I'm gonna wait and book in March, after taxes are done so maybe I can sqeeze some money out of our tax return... if we have one!! Looks like it will be close to $1,000 for the weekend. That blows my mind.. but it'll be worth it... right?? RIGHT???? I've done trips before to meet people I have talked to on the internet. For shy me, that was a major accomplishment. I flew to Oklahoma on my own and then was driven to Texas and Arkansas to meet people I had talked to for years. I loved every minute of it. And I know it will be the same meeting all of you. The Bobster and the boys will do the Gettysburg trip at a different time. I have a funeral tomorrow to sing for so we aren't going to go get our fills. We called and cancelled, but will call tomorrow to reschedule. We ate very well while we were down in Florida.... helps to have someone in the same boat foodwise. Better scoot and hit the hot tub. It's 6 degrees right now so getting in will be faster than getting out!!

Back home from Florida. Too pooped to participate tonight. Will post tomorrow! Soooooooooo glad to be back home!!

Ok Terry...just give me an estimate on prices we are going to have to deal with.. rooms, admissions, etc. Ball park figures are fine and that would help me knowing the rough total of what I'll need. I will do my best to be there. Ms. Pamela.. don't hook up with anyone else til ya hear from me, deal?

Detroit is 5 hours from us. That would involve an overnight stay in order to get the early flight. And I don't drive that far by myself. Bobster will drive me to Saginaw 3 hours away and I'd fly from there to Detroit, to San Antonio. The cheapest flight I could get is Spirit, but that's from Detroit and it has a 6 hour layover in Ft. Lauderdale. Much as I like you guys, I'm not willing to fly 12 hours in one day!!!

Hey guys... Just checked flights and the best I can do is $376.00 I need to know what other costs are going to be involved. With the stock market going the way it is, I might not be able to swing this. We're already talking about canceling our cruise in October.
