CONGRATS, JENN!!!!! WE'RE ALL PROUD OF YOU!!

Afternoon, Violets! Suzanne.. thanks for the cute Valentine's. Does it break my Lenten promise if I licked the lollipop?? :tt2::tt2: Yes, Terry, I LOVE that smilie face! Jeanie...welcome to the Violets thread! You only have about a gazillion posts to catch up on, but believe me it will be entertaining reading! You've done a great job on the weight loss! Pam..I remember it well. Returning from being gone and lots of notes from the sub along with comments from the Foster Grandma and Aide. I hated to be gone. And lesson plans for Kindergarten are unbelievable. You have to have the routine written down word for word, minute to minute. Just got back from the PMS luncheon. The chili was good, but not as good as mine. I only had a cup of it with some shredded cheese and a spoonful of sour cream. There were cookies for dessert and I passed. Also a little cup with chocolates and a nutmeg. I kept the nutmeg and the chocolates will be for DD when she arrives. I'm off to clean up my kitchen cause our accountant comes tomorrow to start on our taxes. Catch ya'all later!! p.s. Snow has stopped so I guess no cancellations on the stuff I have to do this afternoon and evening.

OK.. forget about the snacks. It's TIME OUT for all of you!! :scared2:

Gooooooooood morning, Violets... Got to sleep in this morning til 8:30 since I don't have Ethan today. It's 1 degree out and snowing big, fluffy flakes. We're still under a winter storm watch, but now they are saying 2-5 inches of snow instead of 4-6. At least they were right on with the time the snow was supposed to start. TracyK...TOM??? wazzat?? :wink2::tt2: I gained a pound yesterday and lost it today so still have 1# to go before Thursday. and I'd LOVE to be Macy's teacher!! I could hear alllllllll the things she'd tell me about life at home with Mommy and Daddy.. Pastor's Main Squeeze group meets today for a chili lunch. I was smart and made chili for supper yesterday..what was I thinkin'??:scared2: Jane...hope your cough gets better. Knock on wood, I haven't had a bad cough since getting banded. When I taught, I'd get a bad cold and cough at least twice during the winter. Just can't avoid it when the little munchkins get close to you with their runny noses. Jenn.... fingers and toes still crossed that you hear about the job today. Hope your daughter feels ok at school. She should watch the Brady Bunch show when Marcia, Marcia, Marcia gets beaned in the nose with the football. Boy, am I showing my age or what???? Time to get some breakfast, do a little elliptical and then jump in the shower. Everyone have a good morning!!

94 days til the Violet's Bandiversary Bash!!
-
Ditto for me. I had bad acid reflux and have not had any since April 10,2007, the day of surgery.
-
Does any know if most insurance co. cover the fills?
Teachlady replied to NikkiD's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My BC/BS PPO has covered them all so far. -
Evening, Violets.. Laura was supposed to leave this morning for her trip to New York. Just got back from Walmart. I tried on swimsuits, but didn't find any I couldn't live without. I have my semi-new one that is fine for now. If I hit my first goal before the Bandiversary bash, then I'll spring for a new suit. Other than that the one I have should be fine. I did get a couple of summer skirts for my cruise is size L (12/14)!! Got some zip up slacks with a belt in size 16. First time I have worn a belt in about 40 years I think!! Ethan had a nice, long nap today so Gramma got some housework done, plus keeping up on the posts in here. Tomorrow our PMS group meets for a chili lunch and then I have Bells at 4 and New Day Singers at 6-9. Don't know if any of those will be cancelled if we get all the snow they are predicting. I have to make some cookies for a funeral on Wednesday. DD Kris will be here tomorrow night and I'm going to ask her to make them while I'm at rehearsal. No sense tempting me during Lent! I've done (4) 10 minute sessions on the elliptical trainer today so far. I'm going to head upstairs when I finish this post and do my stationary bike and glider. Then I'll hit the hot tub tonight for some toning and relaxing. I'm just finishing up my second liter of Crystal Light. I'll put another in the freezer for later on tonight. I'll check back on ya later!!
-
I rest my case. Anyone ready for graham crackers and milk...errrrrrrrrr Oh Yeah wafers and Crystal Light???
-
I do tooooooooooooo, but then again I taught Kindergarten for 32 years.:cursing::tt2:
-
Just take a big breath, Jenn. It will all be good. :cursing:
-
OK...that's it!!! no more sick violets.. everybody got the message????:cursing::sad:
-
Ok..here's the deal. You guys can be the moderators and I'll flit from one thread to another creating havoc. Deal??:tt2:
-
Good for you, Tracy! How are the wedding plans coming?? How are the boys? Still sick?? I think most of us got an email to become a moderator. Pam is one now. I'm gonna pass.
-
Jenn.....you've been under a lot of stress lately. This too shall pass. You know the damage and you know what you have to do to get back on track. I'm confident you WILL do it! We've all had our moments, days and weeks. Just take a water pill, exercise and make healthy choices and those 10# will be gone in no time.
-
Fat, schmat.... we're ALL gonna be smokin' hot. Cept of course for the minister's wife. She'll be spiritually hot.
-
Gooooood morning, Violets. Jenn...today is your day! Can't wait to hear about the new job. TracyK.... I was doing the same thing a couple of weeks ago and I just had to put my food down and close my mouth. I was eating just to be eating. Not hungry at all. Those habits are hard to break for sure, but look how far you have come. You didn't do that by constantly breaking the rules. You can do this!! You'll definitely be at goal for our get together! Let's both kick butt, k? Pam... I was asked to be a moderator too, but I think I'll pass. I am tied down to this computer enough as it is. I tend to be an overachiever and I'd probably end up being on here 24/7 and the Bobster would not be pleased with that! Ethan will be here in a little bit for the day. I also have a meeting with someone from the personnel committee at the church at 3:30 to discuss some problems with the minister that replaced Bob. Should be interesting. We are under a winter storm watch for tomorrow. Supposed to get 4-6 inches. I didn't do the hot tub last night cause it was -20 with the wind chill. I woulda froze my tushie off before I could get it in the hot water. I'm off to get my breakfast and then wait for Ethan. Everyone have a great day. I'll check back later.

95 days til the Violet's Bandiversary Bash!!

Kewl!! I sent my hotel money to Terry already. Can you share some spending money with me, Jenn???

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up and attem for church this morning. We had a rough night last night. The winds were horrible again and of course Jetta, the garage dog, went nuts. So we brought her in and barricaded her in the breeze way here. SOmehow she got through it and ended up in our bedroom. But she slept on the floor and the two yorkies seemed to be ok with it. The winds have died down so she's back in the garage, but we sure didn't get much sleep last night. It's 3 degrees right now with a wind chill of -14. I was going to wear my new size 14 skirt to church, but am opting for corduroy slacks and a heavy sweater instead. So much for fashion! The scale went down another pound today and I'm confident I can make my mini-goal for sure by Valentine's day! Keeping my fingers crossed and my body moving. Off to fix breakfast and get myself dressed and slathered with make up. Everyone have a great day. Catch you all later.

SUNDAY'S TIP O' THE DAY J""Health Lies in labor, and there is no royal road to it but through toil." -Wendell Phillips H "Health Lies in labor, and there is no royal road to it but through toil." -Wendell Phillips Just like brushing your teeth, healthy habits should be cultivated on a daily basis. The following is a guide to daily tasks: 1. Activity should be a daily occurrence. Walk, run or jump for a minimum total of 20 minutes a day. 2. Take a multi-Vitamin 3. Protect your skin. Sun block should be applied on face, neck, arms and hands even in the dead of winter. It protects against climatic toxins too. Moisturize skin daily. 4. Eat fruits, vegetables, grains, low-fat dairy products and small amounts of Protein. Avoid sweets and other processed foods. 5. Meditate or spend a minimum of five minutes daily in quiet time. 6. Find your spiritual self. Discover what inspires you, raises your level of consciousness, motivates you, and satisfies your soul. 7. Exercise your brain. Read, study, solve problems, and learn new skills. As does the body, the brain atrophies with lack of use. 8. Hug somebody.

97 days til the Violet's Bandiversary Bash!!
-
Good afternoon, Violets.. We had 8 at our Lap Band support group today. Sure is nice to have a group to be able to talk to in person. Two of the members were banded a month ago and they have lost 20# and 23# with no complications at all. They were so pleased. Next month we are going to try and get an exercise therapist to come in and show us some good exercises to do for all our problem areas. I did really good at supper last night and even had a small piece of chocolate cake with ice cream and didn't feel guilty cause I knew I had gotten my exercise in and had not eaten anything in between meals all day. This morning the scale was the same as yesterday, so that's good. I had 3 pieces of canadian bacon for breakfast, part of a pork chop with a couple tablespoons of mashed potatoes and gravy and that will be it until supper out tonight. And I'll indulge in a little bit of my chocolate mousse after supper, but certainly not a huge portion. I tried on bathing suits today and size 16 is definitely where I am. Didn't get one at Penneys cause they were way too expensive. I'll wait til Walmart comes out with theirs. I'm on my second liter of water today and will be heading to the elliptical trainer when I finish this post. Terry... have fun at your jewelry class!! The silver bracelet sounds beautiful. Post pics of stuff you're working on. I love looking at it. Not that I like jewelry or nuthin'! And congrats on losing that pound. 181 is knocking at your door!! Kat... poor Rick!!! That sounds awful.. Let us know how he did with the blood work. I just got shivers when I thought of the pain and blood.. ewwwwwww Jenn.. glad the wake and service went well and hope you hear something Monday for sure so we can throw lots of nanners your way! Pam...look what you started with all those bouncing nanners! Hope your knee feels better. Keep pampering it. We don't want you limping around San Antonio and not able to do the boot scoot'n boogie with us! TracyK...my goodness, you sure have had a time with Macy!! Hope she does well this weekend and you don't have to go back to the doctor. TracyinKS...You and TracyK sharing germs??? Hope your guys get better quickly and don't share with Robby or you!! Can you just imagine what fun Michelle's having with her kids at Disneyworld?? Can't wait to hear all about it. Jane..take care of yourself. We don't want you getting sick too. It seems to be a Violet epidemic! I'm off to do some elliptical work. Everyone have a good day!
