Good afternoon Violets. Well, I have to report that it was a great night with Ethan. After his longggggggggggggg nap, I was really worried that he would be up at 3 or 4 a.m. Well, he laid down at 9:30 and slept til 7:30 this morning!!! I, however, didn't get as much sleep.. arghhhhh I laid down and then the patio lights went on and I had to shut the curtains. I laid down and the police scanner came on really loud, so I had to turn that down. I laid down and then had to go pee. I laid down and got hungry so I got up and had some string cheese. I laid down and the dogs decided they wanted to jump up so they were crying. got them situated and finally went to sleep. the dogs jumped on an off me all night. (I slept on the couch to be in the same room as Ethan). We all got up and had breakfast and got dressed for church. Bob dropped me off early and then came back with Ethan, dropped him off in the nursery and wheww......... time to sit and enjoy church. Afterwards we went up to the Fellowship Hall where we have a portable labyrinth set up. It's meant for meditative walking, but of course Ethan thought it was the greatest thing going. He twirled, ran, fell, jumped and thoroughly enjoyed himself. The labyrinth is 24' square so it was a huge thing for him to run around on. Got him home, fed him and he's now laying on the couch resting. I'm going to go watch the Pistons and get on my elliptical. I'm back down to where I was just before the cruise so I'm happy. Now to shed some pounds before our bandiversary bash!! I'd LOVE to be at my first goal by then. Everyone have a good afternoon. I'll check back after Ethan goes home.

I was banded in SOUTHERN Michigan. Does that count??? Just got back from our support group meeting. It was really informative We had the owner of one of the fitness clubs come in and talk about exercise and fitness. He was very good and did his homework going online and looking up all there was to know about lap bands. Next time we are having a nutritionist come in. We had 9 people today, 8 veterans and one looking into it. The Bobster stayed home and babysat Ethan. We met from 11-1 so it was a longggggggg meeting, but well worth it. TracyK. good luck with another good decision in your life. YOU CAN DO IT!! Suzie.. good luck with the pool hunting. I'm anxious to see what you decide on. Terry.. you're in my prayers. Lord knows you'll need strength and patience!!! Well, got to go change some poopy diapers. Guess whose!!

Good Morning, Violets.. Ethan has arrived for the day and night. I think I'm getting too old for this!! It will be his first overnight with us and with it being Palm Sunday tomorrow, it's going to be interesting. Thankfully, the Bobster has the Sunday off and can help with Ethan in the morning. I have to be at church early to rehearse my flute solo and the choir. Just finished my oatmeal and now am going to get dressed so I can go to my support group. Hope we have a good turnout seeing as how it's the first day of Spring Break for the school and lots of people go traveling. We went to an RV show last night and then to a boat show at the mall. Lots of neat things to see and drool over. We still have to decide about the new car. It was advised to buy instead of lease so we have to mull over the pros and cons between $60 a month and $240 besides the most obvious. Everyone have a great weekend... make wise choices and drink lots of water! Janie... cute story!! Got to be careful of those prim and proper ladies..:tt2: Jennifer and Kat... have fun this weekend! Matter of fact.. EVERYONE have fun this weekend!!

62 Days til the Violet Bandiversary Bash!!

Good Morning, Violets. Got to sleep in today and it felt great. Ethan doesn't come until 1 today so we have a little time to relax this morning. going to the car dealership to look at a new Buick LaCross The Bobster's truck is just eating way too much gas and if he gets an interim position after he's done with his little church, he's going to need something that gets good gas mileage. To lease the car would only be $60 a month and we would save that much in gas alone, so it's kinda a no brainer. We would have to sell the RV though, but we had decided we liked cruising better so that's not a problem. Just finding someone to buy it might be. The scale has been moving a little bit each day. I just know that the exercising is the difference. That and lots and lots of Crystal Light. I'm eating some oatmeal right now and am sure I'm not going to make it through the whole bowl, but my Mom would be so proud!! Last night was a Democratic Party meeting and they had the head of the Michigan Dems party there. They had boxes of pizza and lots of pop. I knew I wouldn't be tempted, but the Bobster thinks pizza is a food group. I was so proud of him.. he never had a bite. Course we had just come from splitting a New York Steak dinner at Applebees and I would have smacked him if he had!!! He said he was tempted when we went up near them to get his coffee, but he told himself no so of course I told him how I was proud of him. He REALLY needs a fill on Monday. He says he eats a meal and then is hungry. Hope this one helps him. He's not getting his exercise in like he should either. I just love having the elliptical trainer near the tv. It makes it sooooooooooo easy for me to hop on and do 10 minutes several times a day. Yesterday it was 4 times. I also do exercises in the hot tub each night. It's not just laying there looking up at the stars. I really get a workout. Time to get my hair curled and brush my teeth so we can head to the dealership. Everyone have a great morning. Make good choices and drink that water!!

63 Days til the Violet Bandiversary Bash!!

Ohhhhhhhhhh what a cutie!!! and the puppy is adorable too!!! Congrats on the newest addition.

Forgot about the prune juice. That worked for me too.

Yours is a very common problem. Drink lots of water, take a stool softener, put Benefiber in your drink. I had constipation issues before the surgery and after. But when I increased my water and liquid intake, the problem resolved and here almost a year later, I am regular and have not had to take any tablets for months.

Good Morning, Violets.. Ethan has been here since 8 and I'm just getting on the puter. He's into EVERYTHING. I'm teaching him sign language and he's been signing EAT every 10 minutes or so!! He knows EAT, ORANGE, GOOD, GRANDMA, GRANDPA, and ICE CREAM so far. He's not talking yet except for a few words so this is helping him get his wants across to me. Suzie!! congrats on the refund and getting a pool. I LOVE mine. It was what I got as a retirement gift to myself. Between that and the hot tub I'm water logged pretty much all year. And yes, I have been known to swim nekkid.. but the suit comes off only after I'm down deep in the pool. lol e have lots more privacy with the hot tub but I won't mention any details about that. :grouphug: Pamela.. you KNOW you can't come in here with a statement about a surprise and not have us dying to know! Give us a hint. Glad Haydee is ok. Now how about Jennifur???

All in due time, dear. All in due time. 64 Days til the Violet Bandiversary Bash!!

Good evening, Violets. Just in from the hot tub and doing my toning exercises in there. It's 24 degrees out so it was a beautiful night to be in a hot tub under the stars. Watched American Idol and I think the right person went home. Suzie.. David is still doing great!! And my doctor is very compassionate. When we hit a plateau he just says .. do you think you need a fill? Then he says not to worry, it will come off. Just keep at it. It takes time. And I always know exactly why I stay the same or gain. It's all in my hands now. While the initial weight came off quick, it's taking forever now, but I feel so good about how far I have come. I went to a clothing store here in Alpena that I had never been to in the 24 years we have lived here. The clothing is expensive and the sizes run small. I got a couple of sweaters in size L for next winter and a Pendleton big shirt for 60% off. Such a deal and the lady who owns the shop is a member of our Alpena church. She couldn't stop gushing about how good the Bobster and I looked. Never once did she ask us how we did it.. just kept saying how amazing it was. Same thing happened at the library last Sunday. I had not seen the librarian in awhile and she was just floored. First words out of her mouth were.. "Hi... oh my gosh Judy, you've lost a lot of weight!". Those are the things that keep me going. The little NSV's that come when you're least expecting them make it all worthwhile. I just wish my parents had lived to see me finally succeed at this weight loss challenge. Ethan comes again in the morning, so I better head to bed. Hopefully I won't get konked on the head again!! Everyone have a good night. Sleep well.

Michelle.. I seriously believe you are my clone!! I have never eaten oatmeal since I was a baby and my dad forcefed me a bowl because he was in a hurry to get to the airport to watch airplanes take off and land. I barfed up the whole bowl and have not in all my young and adult life ever eaten oatmeal. I bought some last week and had my first bowl the other day. It wasn't too bad after I mixed in some Splenda brown sugar and raisins. I had my second bowl today and it was darn good. I guess I'm a grown up now!!
-
I keep mine in the living room by the tv. You'll need it close to a wall for awhile so you have something to balance with in case you need it. But it's so easy once you get the hang of it. Let me know how you like it.

Laura... go to QVC.com and type in elliptical trainer in the search box. It's a Stamina 55-1610 E1000 Elliptical Trainer. I just LOVE it. I've been on it 3 times today already.

Oh yes, I'm fine. Just a little bump on the head. I've been doing a lot of PB'ing lately. Definitely don't need a fill. Just hope the scale moves before Monday when we go to the doc. My support group meets this Saturday and I've had a couple of new people call about it so hopefully there will be a good turnout. We have a fitness expert coming in to talk to us. Maybe this old dog will learn some new tricks! I'm off to choir in an hour and then dinner out afterwards. Hope everything stays down!!
-
Ok, so this is how lunch went today. I gave Ethan his food and he was enjoying it. I had a couple of forkfuls of chicken salad and had to PB. Finished that little chore. Then thought I'd try my chicken noodle soup instead. Everything was fine until I got to the next to the last bite. Then it was bathroom time again. By this time Ethan had finished and I had him out of the high chair running around. He followed me into the bathroom and as I'm bent over the toilet, SMACK, he flips the lid on my head. I then proceed to PB and he's patting me on the back saying UH OH!!! Lovely. Now I smell a strange aroma and it ain't me so I think it's diaper time. Oh joy.

Wooo Hoooo... we got us some gor geee us Violets. The siggy's look great. It's so neat seeing them on other threads too. We be special! Thanks for doing that for us, Laura. Ethan is running around and hopefully he'll be tired enough for a nap after lunch. I know I will be!! Kat, loved your story about the pennies. We got a plant when my father in law died and it never bloomed until the day of my mother in law's funeral. We call those "grace-idences" instead of "coincidences". I'm a firm believer in angels and "graceidences".

I'd be happy to call you Pamela if you want, Terry! :huh2::tt2:

I have Ethan for the rest of the week... oooops, he's arrived so I better scoot for now. BBL... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JENNIFER!!!

I took the email list we got and added the birthdays to my calendar for the year.
