Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up and eating cottage cheese and fresh blueberries. Well, as fresh as they can be after 5 days in the fridge. But they're still way better than frozen. going to get dressed after breakfast and head to the bank to sign the papers for the new car. Then will have to check on getting the XM put in my old car. THEN I can get to painting!! I have all day and evening so I hope to get as much done as I can. Pulling this computer table out so I can get behind it to paint will be a major job. Househuntress....I've had pain in the port when I lay on my stomach now. Never happened before, but then again, I don't have all the extra fat padding like I used to. But that's the only time it hurts. Congrats on the great weight loss!!!! I too am stalled as I think most of us are, but I look at where I was a year ago and I'm sooooooooo thankful I did this. It is soooooooo worth it!!! Pamela.....the bad news is the vacation flew by for you. The good news is the remaining weeks in the school year will too! Just think.. it's almost APRIL!!! And the days til the Bandiversary Bash are really flying by. Pretty soon it will only be a month!! Gotta run and get dressed. Everyone have a great morning!! Make wise choices and drink, drink, drink that water!!!

Good Evening, Violets.. Just finished stripping the wallpaper from 2 of the 4 walls and have the things taped that I want to start painting tomorrow. I have tomorrow and parts of Tuesday to get as much done as possible before Ethan comes the rest of the week. Church was great today. I was 36 when we left there and now I'm pushing 61. Doesn't seem like that much time has passed. We got to see a lot of the people that were there when we were there and some new faces too. We went out to lunch with some good friends of ours from there and it was like stepping back in time. Instead of it being 24 years, it seems like it was only 24 hours. Tomorrow we get the new car. We're going to miss the truck, but not the gas mileage! Now if we can sell the RV, I'll be really happy. Going to head to bed soon. Everyone sleep well. Oh.. NSV today.. one of the older ladies said... where did you leave the rest of you??? I didn't know what she meant at first, but she was talking about my weight!! It just felt sooooo good to not feel like all eyes were on me trying to guess how fat I was. I really felt like a normal person!! (((hugs everyone!!)))

Good morning, Violets. I see you all sleeping there!! We're up early for church. Got my outfit all ready.. yellow sweater with white tee shirt underneath, khaki skirt and brown suede high heel boots. Soooooooooo much better than basic black in plus sizes!! Just let Jetta out and my Crystal Light is in the freezer. Off to curl my hair and put make up on and then I just might be ready!! Everyone have a great day. Relax, enjoy and make wise choices! I'll check back later this afternoon when I take a break from stripping wallpaper. Terry.... I use a baby spoon here at home for most meals. I'd be too self conscious taking the little blue rubber dipped spoon out in public. But maybe the pink one..... hmmmmmmmm

Cellulite: Is There a Solution? Cellulite is caused by the fat lumps under the skin creating the "orange peal" or "cottage cheese" look. It's a very common problem: 85% to 98% of women have it at some degree. It's unfair and it is rarely seen in men. No matter what's common belief, cellulite is not related to being overweight. Thus, liposuction is not effective for cellulite reduction, neither are lotions unless they contain methylxanthines, one form of which is caffeine. "That's because cellulite is not a fat problem, it's a skin problem. It has nothing to do with what you weigh," says Hollywood dermatologist Howard Murad, MD, author of The Cellulite Solution book. A diet that "feeds" skin can help, claims Dr. Murad. Foods that are rich in lecithin, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants reduce fluids and increase circulation inside skin cells. To get these nutrients, it is advised to eat enough eggs, organ meats, Omega-3 oils like flaxseed or canola, fresh dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, berries of all kinds, and dark chocolate. There is anecdotal evidence that the dry brush massage can help, too, and roughly for the same reason: it improve circulation and help removing excessive Water from the under-skin tissues. Finnish Dr. Paavo Airola recommended it for his patients 30 years ago and it's still popular in Europe. Here's how you do this. Very important to choose a natural bristle brush and use it always on dry skin. Gently press the brush upon your skin and make circular movements starting with your feet and toward your heart for example, work on your neck and shoulders downward, and brush arms and legs upward. Take a shower afterward. The best is so called contrast shower or blood vessel gymnastics - when you use alternatively very hot and very cold water. It tones the skin and train your immune system

Good evening, Violets.. I'm headed to bed too. Have to be up early to get ready for church an hour away. Then home and back to the wallpaper stripping. Actually it's going pretty smoothly. I kinda like doing it too, Suzie! Pretty sad when that's my big thrill of the day! lol I'm really excited about church and for the first time, I'm looking forward to being someplace new and I'm figuring out what I'm going to wear. The choice is not between basic black and black, but between a closet full of clothes in sizes I only dreamed about a year ago!! Life is good in bandland. Everyone have a good night. Sleep well!!

Ok.. got one long wall done (meaning wall paper is stripped) and three to go. I'll have to work on them tomorrow. I got veggies roasting in the oven to take to our dinner tonight. Have to leave in half an hour. It's called Meals For 8 and three other couples from our church will be there. Each couple is responsible for a part of the meal. The host has the entree. Sure hope I don't end up PB'ing anything!! We went out for ribs for lunch and I ate the meat from 2 bones and a few onion petals and up it came. I'm just not taking small enough bites, I guess. You'd think after almost a year I'd learn!!

I'm ready and waiting for ya!! Any tips from the pro??

Ok. now I gotcha. It was Michelle's daughter. I know, I know. Michelle and I look a lot alike. Here's how to tell us apart. I'm the one that's just a teency, weency, tiny bit older.

Congrats on your band date! Through all the ups and downs, ins and outs, overs and unders,I would do it again in a heartbeat. It's the best thing I ever did for ME!! And the bonus part was getting to know all my Violet Sistahs in here!!
-
Huh?? Did I miss something here?? Who am I supposed to have talk to someone??

Good morning, Violets.. I love, love, LOVE sleeping in til 9 a.m!! When I was working I was up at 4:30 a.m. each and every weekday morning so that I could have my quiet time before leaving for work at 6 a.m. When I arrived home at 5 p.m. there was always church stuff and rehearsal stuff and laundry and things like that so there was really no quiet time for me. Now I have all the quiet time I want, unless Ethan is here of course! Kat.. SOOOOOOOO glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. Helps us to remember that even 2 years out, the band is still there doing it's job and reminding us that it can still get stopped up. so glad you didn't have to drive hours and hours for relief. Haydee... congrats to your sister on her surgery! The family that bands together, gets thin together! Terry.... I'm a basketball fanatic. I have to get my Piston's fix every week. If I'm not watching it on tv, I'm following it online and yes, each and every play is important. Baseball........ not so much. lol Cept my Detroit Tigers are finally getting good the last couple of years so it's exciting again. I quit watching baseball when the strike happened and never got back into it. Michelle.. wouldn't hurt to get your DD checked out. Just to put her mind at ease as well as yours. And yes, I'm addicted to lapbandtalk.com too. First thing in the morning, last thing at night. TracyK... congrats on your two weeks of non-smoking. I'm PROUD of you!! We're off to Home Depot to pick up paint and some wood trim. Then it will be time to start stripping wallpaper in this room and get it ready to paint. arghhhhhhhhh Everyone have a great day!! Pamela.. have a safe trip.

I've had a lot of PB'ing episodes, but never any nausea or any real vomit. Just the slimeballs that let me know I have a band and I'm not paying attention to it!
-
Woooo Hoooooooooo Glad you're back in the land of the living, Kat!!! Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief! Thank goodness for your Uncle and his friend.

Michelle.. I LIVE with an Obsessive Compulsive guy. Everything has to be even numbers. Can't eat just one jelly bean....has to be two. Can't leave the house without checking everything over and over and over and over. He's on meds now and it's much better, but it used to be the joke of the family watching Dad/Bobster trying to leave for vacation.
-
Hang in there Kat. We're all praying for you. Wish there was more I could do. You know if we were close by, we'd be there in a heartbeat.
-
Ooooops... make that a sickie quartet. Laura!! How could I forget you weren't feeling well either?? Glad to hear you're getting some relief. When do you go to the doctor again??
-
Good Morning, Violets.. Kat.. I sure hope you're feeling better today. Haydee...glad to see you're shaking whatever you had. Suzie... Looks like you complete the trio! Hope everyone is feeling good enough to enjoy the weekend coming up. I'm eating blueberries and cottage cheese right now. Haven't had it for months since I got tired of it. But it sure tastes good again. And the blueberries were not that expensive right now. For awhile it was like buying golden nuggets and they didn't taste that good. Ethan comes at noon and I'll be watching my guy on the View at 11. We're going to Home Depot tonight to get paint for the front door and the breezeway so you know how my Saturday is playing out. Sunday we go back to our church we used to serve 24 years ago. We were there for 11 years and it will be interesting to see everyone. It's only an hour away, but we haven't been back there except for maybe once or twice. That's the tough part about being a pastor. Once you leave, it's ethically tough to go back without an invitation. Don't know if anyone called Kat last night, but I'm so hesitant to do that when I know someone isn't feeling well. Hopefully she's feeling better this morning. Well, I need to go get some things done before the View comes on. Everyone have a good morning. TTFN..
