    Gruene Violets

I'm with you on the 2 hour max, Pam. However, if there are others who don't want to do the tubing and would rather do something else, I'm game for that too. Any idea on who is going tubing and who isn't?? I guess you'd call me Bi, right Roomie???:tt2::tongue:

    Gruene Violets

Thanks for the heads up, Terry. I plan on bringing skorts and lightweight tops. I still have a hard time wearing anything sleeveless. I never did in my life until last summer. Maybe I'l have the courage this summer again. I think the 2 hour tubing would be fine for this old lady. And I'll use a swimsuit and tee shirt on top. I burn really easily so I'll be slathered up with sunscreen. Can't wait!!!!
  4. Good Morning, Violets.. Ethan got me up at 7 this morning and we've had breakfast and are dressed for the day. I tried to eat an egg with him, but of course mine just sat in my throat. Last night the egg roll went down and came right back up, but the rest of the meal went fine. I have about 3 crispy shrimp and a couple of honey glazed walnuts and of course the piece of birthday cake went down slick as a whistle! At least it was only one piece for two birthdays. I don't have to repeat it today for DD Kristin. We go to a church dinner tonight called Meals for Eight. Four couples from church get together and each one brings part of the meal. I'm bringing a strawberry spinach salad. Don't know what I'll be able to eat tonight, but I will definitely take it easy. I don't want to be running to the bathroom at someone else's home. Going to go wait for Ethan's daddy to get here and then head to walmart for a few things. Everyone have a great day!!!

    bcbs michigan

I have BCBS as a retired teacher and all our fills were covered the first year. Now that I'm in my second year, the fills are partially covered. I got my first bill for $46.00 as my part of the $100 charge.

  7. Good afternoon, Violets.. Just got done talking with DS and he said they felt the earthquake in southern Michigan. How weird is that??? Haydee, congrats on staying on that elliptical for 10 mintues!! I'm the same way, just can't do more than a couple of minutes before I am out of breath. On the elliptical trainer I have, 10 minutes is easy so I'll stick with that. Laura... you've never said anything about your elliptical trainer. Did you not like it??? Janie... HAPPY BANDIVERSARY TODAY!!!!!!!! You've done an awesome job losing over 100# You rock!! Kat..congrats on the TT!! Now we know what your seminar will be on our trip. Manda will be in my thoughts and prayers. Pam.. soooo glad my roomie's biopsy came back benign. Looks like I'm the last to arrive on Friday of our trip. Sorry, I'm so late, but that's the only flight I could get that day. At least I don't have to leave at the crack of dawn to get back on Monday. boy, time is sure flying. DD only has 2 more weeks of clinicals and then a week of tests and then she gets pinned for LPN on May 7. We are gonna celebrate that day!!! After I get back from San Antonio, it's only a few days til we head to Canada to see a couple of plays and relax. Then less than a month after that will be DD's graduation cruise. wooooooooo hooooooooooooo!! gonna be a great summer!!! (will be perfect if she can get pregnant soon). Well, time to get ready for the birthday dinner tonight. We went to Applebees for lunch and we split a twofer of clam chowder and Oriental chicken salad. After 4 bites, it was off to the bathroom for me and everything came up. Of course after that everything went down fine. The bobster says I probably got the first bite stuck and everything else backed up. When I chewed carefully and took tiny bites, it was ok. Will be interesting what stays down at the chinese restaurant tonight. Everyone have a good evening! Will check in when I can.
  8. Good Morning, Violets.. Busy day today for me. I'm headed to the hospital to help them out with some clerical stuff they are behind in and need to catch up case the inspectors are coming next week. Then home to do laundry and cleaning and then out tonight to celebrate my middle child's 30th birthday. Tomorrow is DD's 26th birthday so we're combining the celebration tonight. My fill seems to be working. I'm satisfied after a few bites of food and don't have the urge to go grazing all day and evening anymore. Haven't checked the scale so I don't know how the pounds are doing, but I feel great and did a purge of one of my closets last night. It felt good to pull out all the size 18/20 stuff knowing I'm never going to wear that size again. I better get going and get dressed and ready for the day. I slept in knowing we have Ethan overnight tonight and I don't know how much sleep I'll be getting. Everyone have a great day!!

    Hello, Michigan!

I was banded 4/10/2007 in Port Huron. Dr. Bhesania was my surgeon and I have nothing but the highest praise for him and the staff and the facility. It was an awesome experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat. DH was banded 5/22/2007 also with Dr Bhesania and feels the same as I do.
  11. AWWWWWWWWWRIGHT, JENN!!!!
  12. Good Afternoon, Violets. Just back from the church service. All went well. NOTE TO SELF.. when it is communion just 3 days after a fill, do NOT try and eat the big chunk of bread and then try and slug down the grape juice. I had sacred bread stuck in my throat all the way home. Ethan is napping and his mom called to see if we could keep him an extra couple of hours so she can get a CD player installed in their new (used) van. We sold our truck to someone that works with our son and instead of the full asking price, he gave us what the car dealership would have plus he threw in a van to give to Joe. We couldn't pass it up and Joe is thrilled. Time to try and eat some lunch and hope it goes down. Catch ya later.
  13. Good Morning, Violets.. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. I don't want to say it too loud cause I might jinx it, but I think it just might be SPRING here!! There is NO more snow in my backyard!!! Yesterday it got to 73 and today is supposed to be 68. Doesn't get much better than that here in Northern Michigan at this time of the year. I was busy, busy yesterday from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. It was non-stop. Today I have Ethan and the Bobster will watch him when I go to church for our special service for those that can't get out on Sunday. We do it once a month and I usually play flute or sing. Today is singing day so I need to get there a little early to practice. Then I can be lazy for the rest of the day.. woooo hoooooo!! Laura and Jenn... HAPPY BELATED BANDIVERSARY!!! You've both done an awesome job and we're so proud of you!!! My fill is working really well. I'm not so tight that I can't get food down, yet I feel full with just a few bites and don't need to be snacking in the evening. Hope this lasts for awhile! I'd really like to get super close to goal by the 16th of May! I better get dressed before Ethan gets here. Will check in later. Everyone have a great day... make wise choices and drink, drink, drink!!

29 Days Til The Violet Bandiversary Bash!!
  16. Good Morning, Violets.. A busy day today for me. Flute rehearsal this morning at 9, then headed to the hospital for another shift, choir and German class this evening. Only good thing is it's supposed to get to 68 degrees today!! wooooo hooooo, might FINALLY lose all the snow in the backyard. Tracyk... we love the new car, but it sure is different sitting so much closer to the road. We're getting about 28 mpg, so that's a big plus. Instead of costing us over $100 in gas to go to our doctor appointment, it was only about $60 this time. Still outrageous, but not much we can do about that. I tried using a pillow to sit on in the passenger's seat cause I don't have my own padding anymore. I could see much better, but the airbag isn't activated if I use the pillow. So I sit on my bony butt and barely see out the window. DD says I am just like the little old ladies we used to laugh at where you could only see the top of their heads. Arghhhhhhhh I'm one of them now!!!! Driver seat is power so I can adjust that. Everyone have a great day today. My fill is working for the time being. I don't feel hungry between meals and I have to slow way down on the chewing. Everyone make wise choices today and drink, drink, drink.

  19. Hello... did I pass??? :tt2:
  20. Good Morning, Violets.. Jennifur... GOOD LUCK today!! I'm anxious to hear good news later! I'm eating ham salad this morning to see how it goes down. I know, not a normal choice for breakfast, but hey, it's protein!! I've had about three baby spoonsful and am feeling full. Now that's something different!!! I can feel it going down too. The Bobster had to slow down on his pills this morning so I know he has more restriction than he's had before. We're both motivated and have made goals for the next doctor's appointment May 12. That will be just before my Texas trip so that's another motivation. I have my hospital shift today, bell choir and New Day Singers rehearsal. It was nice spending the day with the Bobster yesterday, but today is back to normal. Suzanna, good luck with all the pool paperwork. I know it will be totally worth the effort. I can't wait until it gets warm enough to open up our pool. I love, love, LOVE exercising in the pool and then floating around relaxing. The hot tub is great, but I can't jog in the hot tub. All I can do are some arm and ab exercises. I've had about 1/8 cup of ham salad and am stuffed so time to get dressed and head to my shift. Everyone have a great day. Make wise choices and drink, drink, drink!!
  21. Evening, Violets.. Gosh almighty.. I leave for one stinkin' day and everything changes!!! Plus I had to wade through 3 pages of posts. How come when I'm home it's really quiet in here?? The weather was perfect for traveling today and the bobster and I both got fills. He's up to 9cc in his 10cc band and says he finally feels some restriction. I'm up to 3.1cc in my 4cc and I too am feeling it. Hopefully this will be the sweet spot for both of us. We are on liquids for 12/24 hours so of course supper was a chocolate shake from McDonalds.:huh2: I'm off to bed after watching the Tigers finally play like they're supposed to! Everyond sleep well. Will check in tomorrow.

  25. Evening, Violets.. Just got in from the "warm" tub. The power kicked off on it Thursday during the thunderstorm and we didn't know it til Saturday when I went to get in. It was 81 degrees and definitely not usable. The Bobster reset it today and it got up to 95. Warm enough for me to get in and do my exercises, but not warm enough to stay in and relax. I boosted it up to 101 so hopefully tomorrow night it will be back to normal. We head down for our fills tomorrow. I sure hope it helps both of us with our snacking. We have not been doing as good as we should. I have to find my lightest clothes to wear tomorrow for the weigh in. :smile2: Jane...our high today was 42 and a low tonight of 25. I'm anxious to get it into the 50's and 60's so the backyard will finally be done with snow and water. Everyone sleep well tonight. We leave at 8:30 in the morning for our 2 p.m appointment. Won't be back until about 8 or 9 at night. Makes for a long day, but well worth it! Nighters!!!
