New to this forum~ Hello Everyone !

Congrats on the weight loss!! I live in Alpena.
  4. Good Morning, Violets.. Suzie!!! HOLY SMOKES!!!!! you've lost a whole person!!!!! and -7# since your last visit. That's AWESOME!!! I'm really REALLY impresssed!!!!!!!! You're our poster child for lap band for sure. Kat...no, no. no... not a summer vacation job location. The Bobster is looking for an interim position. That means he'd be the pastor while the church was looking for a new pastor. It would be a temporary position which could be up to a year. He won't go more than 4 hours away so he wouldn't have to relocate. But he said he put in he'd be willing to look at Florida or Hawaii. Ain't gonna happen, I'm sure. Michelle, hope you had a good night last night. Jenn...glad the lemon water is working for you. I take a water pill every day and it does the trick for me. I have my extra hospital shift today. The hospital is going to be inspected by the feds soon, so they are trying to get all their ducks in a row. They asked me to come in to help out with filing and office work so since I don't have Ethan today I said I could. I'm off to get dressed and get going. Everyone have a great day!! Make wise choices and drink, drink, drink!!!

Wooo hooooo!! I'm back to just a carry on! Thanks for offering the beach towels. Michelle.. I laughed out loud at your post... that's exactly how I was reading that water statistics post, complete with the blah, blah, blah!!! You and I are definitely clones!!! Sooooooooooooo I have my Advance Directive and Power of Attorney papers ready. Not that I'm worried about tubing or anything.... ummmmm would there happen to be like really good looking older lifeguards patroling the tubers??? (tubers???we sound like vegetables!) I figure if I can go parasailing in June I can go tubing in May. Help me, Jesus!!!!!
  10. Good Morning, Violets... I'm getting ready for my hospital shift, but wanted to get Pam's pictures posted before I leave. Kat... gonna take more than a sneeze and a healthy poop to get me into the 160's. I weighed today and I'm up again.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I've got to boost my exercising, I know that for sure. I got all the flowerbeds cleaned out last night and now have to get the piles of debris cleaned up today. It's supposed to rain tonight so I want the leaves taken care of before they become soggy piles in the yards.

  16. Ahem... sounds like you all need to go to the Tip O' The Day thread and read about the scales. Sheeeeeeeeeeesh, did I just post if for myself?????
  17. Good morning, Violets... OMGOSH... I slept in til 9:45 today!! Guess I needed it after the concert last night and all the events of last week. Haydee... the choir takes a summer break.. not the pastor!! The Bobster is only working parttime now and he and a woman pastor split the Sundays for this year. After this year, she'll take over and he'll be looking for an interim somewhere. Might even be one in Florida or Hawaii.. wooo hooooo!! Michelle...how you feeling today?? Ditto what Terry says about seeing the doctor. Tracyinks.. our dog groomer had those upside down tomato plants and I watched how they did. Not so good here in Michigan. Hopefully they'll do well for you. Janie...hope all goes well with the appraiser today. 3 points is a lot! Sorry, didn't watch the movie. Well the Bobster had a revelation last night. We went to Applebees for half off appetizers after the concert. We ordered the nachos and buffalo wings. He had a few bites of each and headed for the bathroom. This was after a big PB incident at lunch. He PB'd again and finally had to go sit in the car while I waited for the bill. HE HAS RESTRICTION FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! Now he has to learn to eat the bandster way. He had an english muffin with peanut butter for breakfast and he says it's still working it's way down. I'm noticing a big difference too. Everything went down fine for me last night, but this morning my ham salad and wheat thins are just sitting in my throat. Ethan comes at 1 today and I want to get some yardwork done before he arrives so I better get my butt in gear. Everyone have a great day! Make wise choices and drink, drink, drink!!

Thanks, Haydee!! I think I can just do a carry on now and not have to take time to wait for luggage. I can just get off the plane and hop into Tracy's car and chatter with Tracy and Pam all the way to wherever she takes us!! KEWL!!!

Is everyone that's flying besides Pam planning on bringing checked luggage??? I am the last to arrive and don't want to hold people up while we wait for my luggage. I can try and pack everything in my carry on if that will save time. Everyone remember to bring cameras!!!!!! I have my little flip camcorder that I can get an hour's worth of video on that I'll be bringing too. That way I can post it on the net and share with everyone. It's gettin' close, ladies!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin:
  22. Good afternoon, Violets.. Michelle and Tracy... sorry you're not feeling up to par today. How's your eye, Michelle???? Church was nice today.. choir sang great. only 7 more Sundays and then we are off for the summer. It will be nice to have my Wednesdays and Sundays with no committments for awhile. I just finished raking out all the flowerbeds in the front yard. It's neat to see all the new growth under all the old leaves. I hope to get to the backyard tomorrow. Bob is putting together our new patio furniture. We have to get the canvas cover back on the gazebo and then we're in business for sitting out in the fresh air. It's 65 here now and feels wonderful. I opened up windows and let the air in. The cat is loving it cause now she can sit on the windowsill and pretend she's outside. I worked on my bandiversary gift today and have it like I want it. Now to finish them. Another surprise for you to ponder, Kat!! Im the same way as you... I can't stand not knowing. Each Christmas my brother and I would sneak out and look at all the presents under the tree before my parents woke up. Mind you, both my parents were deaf... so it wasn't a difficult task. Well, not until my parents wisened up and moved their bed to block the doorway. Welllllllll that didn't stop us.. brother and I crept under the bed being careful not to bump the mattress. It was like those army obstacle courses you see. We slithered under and still got to the presents before they knew we did. Time to get ready for the music performance tonight. I have a little more practicing to do on some iffy sections. Everyone have a good evening. I'll check in here before I head to bed.
  23. Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up early to get ready for church. We went out last night to a church members newly remodeled home for dinner and oh my gosh.......the house was just BEAUTIFUL!! I just drooled all evening looking at all the new bells and whistles. It was just like you see in magazines. Then we came home to our little home with no bells and whistles and I'm thinking... sheesh, they're gonna be really impressed when they come here... NOT!! I don't even have room for eight at my table in the kitchen.. we don't have a dining room, but hopefully we can grill and eat in the backyard which has PLENTY of room. No use wishing for what you can't have. Dinner was good. Pork tenderloin, corn pudding, baked potato, candied carrots, spinach strawberry salad and a fruit flan for dessert. I had a little bit of everything and lo and behold, everything stayed down!! I have a flute program this evening, but after church I need to get out in the yard and get some work done. Between Ethan and committments, I haven't had a chance to get much done around here. Everyone have a relaxing Sunday. 4 Sundays from now we'll be going to church together in Texas. Right?? RIGHT??? :tongue_smilie::tt2:

Shrink'n Violets TIP 'O THE DAY!!

BATHROOM scale DIET TRICKS 1. Weigh yourself fully clothed after dinner and again the next morning without clothes and before Breakfast, because it's nice to see how much weight you've lost overnight! 2. Never weigh yourself with wet hair. 3. When weighing, remove everything, including eyeglasses. In this case, blurred vision is an asset. Don't forget to remove jewelry as it could weigh as much as a pound! 4. Buy only cheap scales, never the medical kind. Accuracy is the enemy and high quality scales are very accurate. 5. Always go to the bathroom first. 6. Weigh yourself after a haircut, this is good for up to half a pound of hair (hopefully). 7. Exhale with all your might BEFORE stepping onto the scale. (Air has weight, right?) 8. Start out with just one foot on the scale, then holding onto a towel rod slowly edge your other foot onto the scale while slowly releasing the towel rod. Admittedly, this takes time, but it's worth it. You will weigh at least two pounds less than if you'd stepped onto the scale normally. :tongue_smilie::tt2:
