Good Morning, Violets.. Haydee just sent me a text message. She says.. "Let the girls know my family and I are ok. Still without power. Today we are going to stand in line to get gas to power the generator. Fun, fun, fun... I'll check in again when I can." So all the Texas Violets are checked in and accounted for. Whew. Ethan is here so I can't sit long to post. Laura.. take care of yourself. Hope you get some relief! Kat..Wishing you well too..Sure hope you don't have to have the band removed, but you do what you have to do to stay healthy. Gotta go answer the "MOMOM!" call. BBL.....

Yup.. I posted what Haydee had texted me. Michelle is a little loopy today so she probably missed that post!:smile::tt2: I got a little nap in today and then the Bobster called and I can't get back to sleep. Ethan is still cutting logs so it's pretty quiet here right now. I'm just cruising the net looking for song books for church and flute music for our quartet.

Susie.. That sounds a lot like the breakfast Strata we have here in the north. Only we make ours with layers of bread instead of tortillas. I'm back from church. The choir did an awesome job and now Ethan is here. Issy, as he calls her, is out getting some lunch for us. The Bobster had to go preach at a church a few hours from here as part of his new job. So he won't be home for a few hours yet. I'm hoping to get a nap this afternoon. It's the perfect day for it.. cloudy and gloomy. Kat.. sure hope you're doing better. That's not the way to lose weight, as I'm sure you know! How can you deal with company when you don't feel well??? You need to take care of yourself, says Momom Judy!!

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up and dressed and ready to head out to church. Ethan comes back today for the day. Hope he had a good night at Aunt Krissy's house. So glad we have the Texas Violets all accounted for. Sure was a scary time. And the pictures coming out of Galveston and Huston are REALLY scary. I can't imagine people opting to stay in their homes knowing what was coming at them and with all the warnings given to them about staying. It's humid and gloomy and chilly here this morning. 66 degrees. No pool today I'm guessing, though I do need to turn the pump on to get the chlorine circulating. Hopefully by the middle of the week I can get in it again. I bet you ladies are really tired of hearing about my pool!! I seem to be obsessing, don't I? Everyone have a good day. I'll check back later after church and errands.

Evening, Violets.. Just got home and turned on my phone and there was a text message from Haydee. She is ok, there was some damage from falling trees and blowing debris. They are without power, but otherwise ok. The network is busy so she can't call out, but says to tell everyone she misses them and she'll keep texting when she can. Well, one performance is over and 4 more to go. The Bobster says we done good, so that's good enough for me! I'm going to relax with some tabloids and then head to bed. Everyone have a good night. Texas Violets stay safe!!

Hey Violets.. Just got off the phone with TracyK. She's doing fine. They were in a hotel and the power just went off there. She doesn't know when it will get back on or when she can get back to her house. Or even if there IS a house to go back to. She's in good spirits and is going to tour the Blue Bell Ice cream factory Monday. She said she's going to visit the place that made her what she is today!! :thumbup::wink_smile: At least her sense of humor is still intact!! She does say she can't keep anything down because she's so stressed. Well, nothing besides Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I'd be packin' em away too if I had to go through what she's going through. We'll continue to keep our Texas Violets in our prayers. They have a long haul ahead of them.

Good Morning, Violets.. I really don't think we'll be hearing from our Texas gals for awhile. Sounds like no power anywhere near them. What a horrible storm!! Ethan was here all day and night and did very well. I slept on one couch and he slept on the other last night and he slept from 9:30 p.m. - 8:30 this morning. We've had breakfast and are now going out to pick up a music stand and then wait for Aunt Kris and Uncle Nathan to come and take him for the day and night. Flute concert is tonight and I'll be glad when it's done!! I'll be introducing all the pieces and that makes me a nervous wreck! Unfortunately I'm the only one with a voice that projects. PamELa.. I know just what you mean about the VaJay Jay....It used to be bad for me, but now with the new bike and the wide seat and losing the weight, it's such a difference. When we go riding we usually go for 8 or 9 miles. We take a little break about halfway through. We haven't been in awhile, but the weather is so cool in the evenings now, we should be starting up again. No pool today. It's 58 and we're going to get the effects of IKE for the next few days. We're expecting lots of rain here. Our Democratic pig roast fund raiser is today and it looks like it will have to be inside. I hope the weather doesn't keep people from the concert tonight. Good morning, Violets.. Soooooooo scared for the Texas Violets. LOTS of prayers and purple power sent your way. TracyinKS.. you have just described almost everyday of my teaching career. I applaud you for saying just the right things and making those kids day a positive one. Ethan has arrived for the weekend. He came in screaming cause he was with his mom and dad and other grandma and is used to spending the day with them when she is in the picture. But nooooooooo, he has to come to MoMom's house. He's fine now, but was not a happy camper when he arrived. It's chilly and rainy here today. No pool time, I'm guessing. I'm pretty sore from the workout yesterday. I'll get some WiiFit time in today. Tonight is the dress rehearsal for my flute concert tomorrow. I got all the music introductions done last night as I'm the spokesperson for the group. Hope there will be a good crowd there. Off to entertain Ethan for awhile. Everyone have a good morning. Texas gals hang tough!!!!

Good evening, Violets.. I got 1.5 hours in the pool this afternoon. It felt soooo good, but soooo strange too. I was enjoying it so much, the weather is beautiful and yet the Texas Vi's are waiting for the one two punch from Ike. That was in the back of my mind the whole time I was enjoying myself. Just looked at the weather channel and it seems to be shifting a bit easterly. But still a seriousthreat to our Vi's. I'll definitely be keeping you in my prayers tonight and through the weekend. I'm so glad Tracy got out safely.

I thought that was kind of early. Kris is 16 weeks long right now. My doctor said finding out was like opening up your Christmas presents in July. I never did know and after adopting one boy and then giving birth to 2 boys, I was sooooooooo anxious for the last one to be a girl cause if it hadn't been, it might not have been the last one and who knows where I would have stopped!! :rolleyes2: But I never did find out until Krissy arrived.

Good afternoon, Violets. I'm back from getting my new glasses and having lunch out with the Bobster. I LOVE the glasses. I can finally see clearly and they are so kewl in the sunshine. Lunch was ok. I had an artichoke baked bagel. It's a half a bagel with artihokes, olives, red peppers, mayo and cheese baked on top. I ended up PB'ing the first few bites, so took the topping off and ate only that. I also had two onion rings and brought the rest home. Terry... thank you so much for the map. I'm sorry you had to postpone the memorial service, but it was a very wise decision. TracyK.. you take care of yourself and your family, you hear! I'm going to be so worried about all three of you ladies and your families. It really sounds bad. It's warmed up here a bit to........... don't laugh, PamELa, ..... 69 degrees. I'm headed to the pool in a few minutes. It's up to 82 in there so I can jump in and do some exercises. The sun is shining so it should be comfortable. Hopefully it will be a nice evening so the Bobster and I can make a bonfire outside. I had a craving for a Boston Cooler so I got some diet Vernors and some sugar free ice cream and made a couple for Bob and I. yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... The Bobster grew up in Detroit which is the home town of Vernor's Ginger Ale. Nothing like it, if you're from Michigan. Laura.. are you going to ask what the sex of the baby is?? Daughter Kristin doesn't have her ultra sound til October and she doesn't want to know. (But gramma knows it's a boy! Mark my words. You read it here first.) I'm so excited for you. Sure does bring back memories! Jane.. the weather has been very cool this summer. Very unusual. I usually don't have to worry about the furnace coming on til October, but it's come on once already and I have the thermostat set for 60 in the house. I'm hoping Indian Summer will happen next week or the week after. Then when that's done, it will be time to close up the pool for the winter. I hate thinking about that.. sighhhhhhhhh I'm off to jump in the pool. Everyone have a great afternoon..

Good Morning, Violets.. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr another cold morning here. 47 degrees when I got up. It's a lazy day for me today. No Ethan, no rehearsals, no meetings. Just the Bobster and I all day together. Hope we survive!! We have the heater cranked up on the pool so we can hopefully get in it this afternoon. MIght be the last time of the season. I'm afraid to see the gas bill this month. Luckily have a big credit as I overpay in the summer, so that will help this month's bill at least. I'm going to get my new glasses in a bit. Sure hope they are an improvement over what I have. They will be transition lenses and that will be great not having to carry along those dreaded clip on sunglasses. TracyK and Terry... I'm thinking about you two all the time lately with the storm coming. Lots of prayers and purple power sent your way. Haydee, are you in any danger from the storm??? I don't know for sure who is in its path. I heard from my friend in Mobile this morning that they are expected to be spared any major problems. Just lots of rain and wind. Michelle.. hope you find just the right dress and accessories. Isn't it a lot more fun shopping now than it was many, many pounds ago??? I got a call yesterday from a mom and son who are looking to get the band. They will be at my next support group meeting. We're a growing group, but not in the wrong way!!! A lady from Human Resources at the hospital got my name from someone and she called me to ask if there was a support group in the area. I said YES, I started one months ago. She was surprised. She said she has had many, many calls wanting to know if there was a lapband support group in the area. I told her a notice is in the paper each month. I'm anxious to see how many more people we attract. I've been told that even in our small town there are lots and lots of bandsters. One of the ladies in my flute group who has seen me since way before banding and every week since, said yesterday that I had lost a LOT of weight. ummmmmmm duh!!! lol It sure is nice to get compliments even a yar and a half out. Just wish I could get more weight to come off. TracyK.. I understand how you're feeling. I have my days too. I'm so stalled and just wishing this plateau would break and the scale would start moving again. We had to change our fill appointment. It's now the 22nd. I'm ready and I know the Bobster is REALLY ready for a fill. Gotta go get my teeth brushed and hair curled and head out to get my glasses. Everyone have a great day. Catch ya later!!

Hey Violets.. Back from rehearsal. Sorry Terry.. I thought the memorial service was today. Must have been a blonde moment or a senior moment.. or maybe just a senior blonde moment. Gotta go and pick up DIL to drive her to work. Both their vehicles are not running and they don't have any extra money right now to fix them. So my car has been loaned to them when I don't need it and I am the designated driver when I need the car and they need to go somewhere. Catch you all later...

Good Morning, Violets.. Well, the furnace came on this morning.. brrrrrrrrrrrrr The temp right now is 38. I let Jetta out and checked all my plants. They are doing ok, thank goodness. I have lots of hibicus that are loaded with buds and ready to bloom and didn't want to lose them. My pool is down to 78 so time to crank up the heater today. The Bobster is going to do that for me when I go to my rehearsal this morning. Gotta go get dressed and get ready for that so I'll make this a quick one. Suzie... great new avatar!! Terry... hope all goes well with the memorial service today. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Daughter Kristin went for her monthly appointment yesterday and all is going well with the pregnancy. I think it's going to be a boy. The doctor told her if she believes all the wife's tales, that it's going to be a boy. If it's a girl I'll be delighted, but we have a long history of boys in our family. Kris is the only girl in the Case family since her greatgrandparents. Everyone have a great day.. Rehearsal finished and I'm pooped. 2 and a half hours of singing is a bit much for this old lady. I'm playing flute on one of the pieces too. Got to go to a flute rehearsal in the morning for a couple of hours and then choir in the evening. Ethan comes at 12:30 tomorrow. I hope to get the pool fired up so I can get in it in the afternoon sometime before choir. TracyK.. you ok?? You're not saying much.. I'm going to go watch tv and then head to bed. Evening, Violets.. Had a great day today with the other pastor's spouses. I had a Maurice salad for lunch.. could only eat a few bites and then was full. Had a Boston Cooler for a treat and am now eating a little bit of left over pot roast. A few bites of that and I'm stuffed. We walked a lot today so that's a good thing. I bought a couple of new watches, a ring and a couple of blouses so it was a successful trip. Kat.. Ethan doesn't like the swimming pool. He'd rather go in the hot tub. Course now that the water is warm, maybe he'd like it better in the pool. I didn't turn the heater on today cause I knew I wouldn't have any time to swim. Hopefully tomorrow and definitely Thursday. Gotta run and get ready for my singing rehearsal tonight. Only one more rehearsal after this one and then the concert!! Everyone have a great evening..

Definitely Dirty Dancing.. NOBODY puts Baby in the corner!!
