Good morning, Violets.. Well, we woke up to snow on the ground this morning!!! Wonder what it will be like for the Trick or Treaters Friday. Might have to dress up in snowsuits! Susie... congrats on the good choices. I'm doing the same here. I'm finally feeling my sweet spot (I know that sounds kinky, but get over it) and am not hungry between meals. The Bobster is doing much, much better now too. No more carbonation for him. He's drinking the diet Fuze drinks and likes them. I'm drinking white cranberry peach Ocean Spray diet drink and just love it slushy like. Gas is $2.47 here. I don't drive that much anymore, but the Bobster sure does and thank heavens his mileage is covered, or I don't know how we'd pay for all the gas he uses. TracyinKS.. glad to see you back too!! As for hot dogs, our nutritionist said it's the worst offender for getting stuck, and mostly by men and mostly at ball games. Go figger. I can't eat them anymore and I used to LOVE them. Gotta go get some breakfast and then do laundry while waiting for Ethan to arrive this afternoon. Choir rehearsal and then a rehearsal after that so I won't be home til 8 tonight. Good evening, Violets. It's so nice to be able to get on here again!! My friend Kathy is in the hospital overnight. They can't get her heart rate down. Definitely nothing to do with the band, but sure scary. We had a nice time at Nathan's birthday dinner. I ordered a dish called Peasant's Pasta. It was spinach, artichoke hearts, salami, olives, bacon , garlic and pasta. I had about 3 bites of the pasta, some of the spinach and bacon and all of the artichoke hearts. I brought the rest home for the Bobster. He ate too quickly and had to PB. I have plenty of the dish left for lunch tomorrow. I can't believe the portion size they serve. Nathan got a pop up ice shanty from his wife and we got him a field dressing knife kit. The boy is a hunter and fisherman. He was raised hunting and lives for it. Kris is a hunting widow for most of the winter. She is coming over here Friday night to pass out Halloween candy. I bought 2 bags of candy I don't like so I'm not tempted, but also bought a bag of assorted Reese's candies. She'll eat some of those and pass out the rest. lol I just have to be strong and not even open the bag. Time for me to put the clean sheets on the bed so the Bobster can hit the hay. He has to be up at 5 tomorrow morning to be on the road to a church meeting 3 hours away. He won't be home again til evening and I have Ethan from noon on til I leave for choir. Good afternoon, Violets. Finally, FINALLY I can get in here. I tried all morning til I left for my hospital shift and then tried again when I got home. All I got was a database error message. Checked Bob's computer and got the same message. So when I got home, I rebooted and defraged and now it seems to be working. Whew... can't be without the Violets for more than a few hours... unless I'm on a cruise, of course!! Nothing happening today except for SIL's birthday party tonight. OH.. GUESS WHAT???!!! Fall is officially over here in Northern Michigan. It SNOWED today. Just scattered flakes and not enough to cover the ground, but still SNOW nevertheless. The Bobster keeps asking when we're going to move to Florida and I keep saying I still like the 4 seasons so we're at a stalemate. As long as I can get away once in awhile on a cruise, I'm happy. And I still love snow. Jane.. hope things are going well in court. Laura.. so sorry to hear about your friend's mother. It certainly makes you appreciate what you have. My mom has been gone 4 years now and I still miss her everyday. Susie.. I'm with you. Can't wait for all the political crap to be over with. This is the worst time now.. just a week to go. I'm going to be manning phones on election day. Should be interesting. But I'm only calling supporters to make sure they have voted so I don't expect any negativity. TracyinKS...where are you????? PamELa.. nothing that I know of over the counter for goopy eyes. But a visit to the doctor is in order if you suspect pinkeye. HIghly, highly contagious. Gonna go watch some tv and relax a bit. ooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeee.. just got in from the hot tub exercises. It's raining out and it's 37 so I didn't stay to relax after I was done. Sure felt good while I was in there though. I had Ethan from 8-6 today and then went to a Community Chorus rehearsal from 7-9. I'm pooped!! Tomorrow is hospital shift and then nothing til evening when I'm going out with Kris and Nathan and his parents for Nathan's birthday. Bob can't go as he has yet another meeting. So I'll be at a restaurant with nobody to share a meal with. I guess I'll be bringing home a lot of leftovers! I've been doing great on my eating the last three days. I don't feel hungry in between meals so I know I must be at my sweet spot right now. Hope it continues. I'm not weighing in til Sunday, just like I used to do when I first had the band. TracyinKS, Haydee, PamELa, where are you???? Jane.. I used to get up at 4:30 a.m. and drove to work in the dark and came home in the dark. I sure don't miss those days. Now I think 7:30 getting up way too early!! Good luck with the court tomorrow. My prayers are with you! BASKETBALL starts on Wednesday!!! GOOOOOOOO PISTONS!!! My favorite sport of all time. Good afternoon, Violets.. Church went well. I only had 2 in Sunday School. Our attendance is going downhill. Today was new member's Sunday. We were supposed to have 5 join today.. the first new members in several years, but the pastor forgot to confirm with one of the couples and they didn't know it was this Sunday. I'm so tired of this guy. He's so lazy and screws things up so much. We just did evaluations on him and I'm betting they don't come back very good. The question is.....where do we go from here? I have to stay in the background because this was Bob's pastorate for 19 years before he retired. Bob has been asked to preach Nov. 16th at that church because the pastor is going to a seminar in Florida. Mind you, our church is $14,000 in the hole right now, and we are looking at some important things for the future of the church happening in November. But without telling anyone on the board, he signed up for this seminar and apparently is going. I just shake my head in wonder. Well, no raking leaves today. Apparently it rained while I was at church and the leaves are all wet and yuck. So it sounds like it will be a perfect day for a nap. I just warmed up a bowl of soup for lunch. I just had a cup of chocolate milk for breakfast so I'm craving some protein. Everyone have a great day!!

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm up early to get ready for church. Weighed in this morning and I'm up 3# since before the cruise. sighhhhhhhh When will this up and down stuff end???? I need to lose 5# a month in order to be at goal by my Hawaiian cruise. Guess I'll have to break my ticker down into even smaller increments. Just seems like with what I'm eating and doing, that it should be swooshing down like it did when I first got the band. Oh well... I'll just keep on keeping on. Everyone have a great day. A couple of cutie patooties!! They sure are sweet! We got Ethan the kangaroo costume when he was a year old. He's going to be Spiderman this year.

Good evening, Violets.. wow.. sure is quiet in here these days! You'd think it was a weekend or sumfin............ oh wait.. hehehe We had our lapband support group meeting today and had 14 in attendance. 4 were newbies contemplating the surgery and the rest were "pros". Gotta tell you TracyK.. when you start getting down on yourself.. just remember there is always someone worse off. One of the members of the group came for the second time and she has had the band for a year and has not lost one pound.. not one pound! BUT she lost 15# before surgery and has kept that off. She told us how she wasn't using the band as a tool. She consumed lots and lots of ice cream and said she was up to 3-4 20 oz. regular cokes a day. She finally went back to the doctor, got a fill and says she is finally losing weight. We told her she HAD to come back to the next meeting and be accountable. Hopefully we can help her keep on track. As we all know the head game is the hardest to win. One of our ladies who had the surgery in June has already lost 60#!! Sure made me feel like I hadn't done what I was supposed to, but then I look at how far I've come and I've got to be proud, no matter what!! Same for ALL of us in here!! We just all need to get over that mind game bump that has us trapped. We KNOW what we should eat.. the band will help us with portions, but we are in control of the crap that goes in our mouths. (I say that having splurged on a Clark bar today... ) All I've had today besides the sinful candy bar is 1 cup of soup. And I'm not hungry so I know I'm at my sweet spot. I just have to stop putting junk in my mouth! I did well on the cruise. PB'd a lot, but didn't eat all the junky stuff I usually do. I'll see how I did when I weigh in tomorrow. Well, I really better get some nutritional food in my belly before it gets too late. I can't eat after 8 anymore as I get acid reflux and I HATE that. It does show me, however, that my band is giving me good restriction and it's up to ME to make it work. End of my sermon to myself. :eek: Will check back later before I head to bed.

Good Evening, Violets.. We just got home from watching a community theatre production of Calamity Jane. It was really very good. We went out to a restaurant afterwards. I had a slice of pumpkin pie minus the crust. Bob had the same... plus a chocolate shake. I just can't seem to reign him in on bad choices!! He's leaving tomorrow for a 9 hour trip to the Upper Peninsula on church business. He won't be home til about midnight Sunday night. So, I'm on my own for lapband support group and then to get some Halloween decorations up. I'm so behind on that!! Going to head to bed. Everyone sleep well..

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh, Kat! You scared the crap outta me when you said you were not in remission and could use the "C" word... I thought you were going to say cancer and that would not have been a good thing... but CURED, now THERE'S cause to CELEBRATE!! I'm soooooooo happy for you!!! Just got back from lunch with Kris and going out shopping. We found a resale store that had new maternity clothes..the store owner buys lots of clothes on ebay and the sells them. Kris got a really cute top and some cords. I got some shirts and a sweater for Ethan and a couple of dresses for Amelia.. it all added up to under $20 for me. Can't beat that!! Oh.. and Kris told me that she wants me in the delivery room with her!!!! She needs someone to take pictures. I hope I don't faint! Haydee.. I love my necklace. It's so appropriate for this time of year here. Terry.. you'll have to design one with LOTS of snowflakes on it for me for this winter. Back to cleaning the house. I took a break to be with Kris for a couple of hours. BBL.........

Good Morning, Violets.. Just got back from taking my son to the dentist to have some wisdom teeth pulled. Didn't know if he could drive home by himself so Mommy went with him. (he's 30 years old, mind you!!) He's going to keep Ethan today so I can get some serious house cleaning done. Not going to discuss politics in here. It can't be done without stirring up a big pot so I will just zzzzzzipppppppp it up. Nope, no compensation. It's written right in the contract you sign that they are not responsible for a change in itinerary. You always take that risk when you book during hurricane season down there. And those berry looking things on the banana tree are called "berry looking things". (heck, I didn't even know it was a banana tree!!)

Good Morning, Violets.. I'm off to do two jobs at the hospital, my regular one and an extra one they asked me to do. I have to go in early cause I need to be done by noon before Ethan arrives. I'm a bit ticked at his parents right now. They borrowed my car so DIL could go to a manager's meeting downstate and they have not brought it back yet. Now I have to use Bob's car to get to the hospital and my badge is in my car. I can't call, cause they have no minutes on their cell phone and the land line has been turned off. Hopefully I'll get my car back when they bring Ethan cause I have errands to run today and Bob is going out of town 4 hours away and won't be back til late, late this evening.
