  5. I'll be one of those weary people standing in line. The furnace man comes at 8 tomorrow morning to clean out the furnace for the heating season, then we'll head to the polls as soon as he is done. Then we head to headquarters to make calls from noon to 4 p.m., then to Bell choir at 5, New Day Singers at 7 and the election party after 9. Kathy is home from the hospital and is now on her way to Port Huron to meet with the nutritionist tomorrow and get weighed in to see how she did her first month. She got home Saturday and seems to be doing well, though she is mighty tired. She has to go back to the hospital every couple of days to have her blood checked. I'm waiting to get my car from Joe so I can go to Community Chorus rehearsal at 7. BBL....
  6. Good Morning, Violets... NOvember = NO to junk food month. Make it a good one!!
  7. PamELa... your glasses are toooo cute! They look great on you! Jane....take care of yourself and know that you're in our prayers. (((hugs))) Everyone have a good night. Just finished watching Desperate Housewives.. LOVE that show and doing my hot tub exercises. I'm ready to hit the sheets and be ready for Ethan at 8 tomorrow morning. Sleep well!!
  8. Good evening, Violets.. What a beautiful day today!! It was into the 50's and the sun was shining and the smell of burning leaves was in the air. After church, while I was waiting for Bob to get home, I raked the front lawn and have about 6 big piles of leaves for him to burn tomorrow. Then we'll be the ones smelling up the neighborhood.:cool2: Kat...we sure will miss you!! Have a wonderful time and we'll catch up when you get back. TracyK..wish I could go with you to the zoo. I just was lazy after raking leaves and took a nap. Bob and I had brunch at 2:30 so I'm not really hungry for dinner. Think I might just have some jello and whipped cream and call it a meal. Kris says I'll like my Dance, Dance Revolution. As long as I can start out slow, I'll be happy. It should be here this week. Ethan comes for the day tomorrow and I bought some number and alphabet cards to work with him on. He's counting to 6 now and recognizes the letters in MRS. CASE. One of my former kindergarten students made me little ceramic teddy bears, each one holding a letter of my name. Ethan has played and played and played with them. If I ask him to give me a certain letter, he can pick it out and if I show him one of the letters he can tell me what it is. I'm adding sign language in there too for the letters. He's slow in speech, but ahead in the other areas so my mind is more at ease with his development. TracyinKS... remember through all of this to take care of YOU too. You have to be strong to make sure Robby gets all the help he needs from experts who can offer suggestions to help you and Robby so he achieves all that he can. Dealing with this day in and day out has got to be stressful. Purple prayers and hugs to you!! PamELa... how was the parade?? Did you take pics??? Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. I'm off to go watch some tv and will check back before I head to bed.

I just won one on ebay. Should be here this week. I'm anxious to try it!
  10. Jenn.. sorry to hear of your loss. (((hugs))) to you.
  11. Good Morning, Violets.. Got up at 4 yesterday morning to leave at 5 for a 4 hour drive to a church meeting. Meeting was from 9-2 and then we drove 4 hours home. I was pooped and went to bed early which was REALLY early with the time change. I'm up and dressed for church. We're going to try and get the leaves raked and burned today and all the stuff out of the back yard that needs to go into storage for the winter. It's 21 degrees here right now.. brrrrrrrrrrrrr. But typical for November. If we don't have snow for deer rifle season on the 15th, then the hunters won't be happy. DD Kris and I will be going shopping on the 15th with all the other countless hunting widows. She wants to look at baby furniture and I'm more than willing to do that with her!!! This will be a busy week for me. Tomorrow I have a staff meeting, then transporting a choir member for their radiation treatment, then community choir. And that's all on top of babysitting Ethan. His mom starts her new position on Monday... and is on salary so she'll be working 40-45 hours a week. That means more Ethan time for me! I better get going so I can be at church on time! Catch you all later.. have a great day!

    Hello from Michigan

Hi Pattikay... I had my surgery in Port Huron April, 2007 and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I had no discomfort afterwards except for some slight pulling at the port site. I had no issue with gas pains at all. I walked and walked and walked after surgery and that's the key. You have to get up and get moving. I can eat most anything now, just very small portions and I have to be careful to chew, chew, chew and eat slowly. You will learn what foods you can and cannot eat. Pasta is a slow go for me so I avoid it and bread. Any dry meat will not go down easily. You just have to be careful. I live in Alpena and travel 4 hours for a fill because I have the utmost confidence in my doctor and the Port Huron Hospital. PM me if you have any other questions. I'd be happy to answer them if I can.
  14. Interesting site.. check it out. I sent in a pic. I should have it back in 48 hours. Home | WeightView.com - Seeing is Believing

  20. Good morning, soon to be afternoon, Violets.. I got up at the crack of 8:30 this morning and have been kind of putzing ever since. Got the last load of towels in the laundry, showered, dressed and headed to Walmart to get a few things. Ethan arrives in about half an hour for the rest of the day. I have a list of honey do's for the Bobster. I'm trying to get some ham salad down right now and it's going down pretty slow. I really think I'm at the right restriction now. Just have to watch my choices, which I've been doing very well with this week. I hope for a swoosh on Sunday and will be disappointed if it doesn't happen. I bid on a dance dance revolution for the Wii on ebay and won it yesterday. Hope this old body can work it still!! If Cloris can do it, so can I!! Michelle...I am always amazed at all the things you post that you do. I can't keep up. I'm a giver too, though. Community Chorus, New Day Singers, Wind Song aren't enough.. I said I would be in the college production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. I am just in the chorus as a shepherd, but it's a bit of memorizing and I'm really not good at that. I also signed up last night at choir to take one of the choir members to her radiation treatments every Monday and Thursday in November. I was asked last night at choir to play flute for the offertory since I already had it at church to accompany the choir. Did I even consider saying no... nope. At least I'm not teaching Sunday School again this Sunday. I don't mind it, but hate leaving the choir in the middle of church service to go do that. Laura..(((hugs))) to you. You're pregnant and you're bound to gain weight!!! When I look at your bump picture, I just wish my tummy was that flat!!! I look much, MUCH more pregnant than you do!! Try and eat the good stuff and avoid the crap. Which is a good motto for all of us!!! Haydee.. in my family growing up it was all about the food too. My mom was an excellent baker and cook. She was born and raised on a farm and she knew how to make all the good stuff that would keep you full and build up your fat cells. Her pies were to die for. My dad didn't like fish or chicken or turkey or pork so we ate a ton of red meat and carb laden foods. And I wonder why I have a weight problem??? Susie.. enjoy your day off!! The inspector came to check the gas line to the pool heater yesterday.. don't ask me why it took him 3 months! He said it was an awful job with no shutoff. Soooooooo he's going back to the store and letting them know they have to fix it. It's a local company that we've never, ever had any problems with. I was shocked. TracyK.... hang in there. Keep doing the good stuff and stay away from the scale!!! I've rediscovered sugar free jello and whipped cream and it's saving my butt as far as grazing all day. Also the soup at hand is yummy. Just stay away from the Halloween candy!!! Jane...(((hugs))) to you too today and every day til the court case is done. Terry....I keep going to your jewelry store and drooling at all the pieces you have. And your presentation of them is just exquisite!! PamELa...how's your class doing?? No mention of any stinkers this year so far... that's a good thing! Gotta run and finish folding the towels before Ethan gets here.. Everyone have a great day making good choices!! BBL

  24. And good afternoon to you too!
  25. Ethan is resting on the couch so I got a chance to call my friend Kathy. She's still at the hospital. They can't seem to get her heartbeat under control. The cardiologist said it could be from stress, or from the surgery. YIKES!! I didn't want to hear that. I'm the one that recommended the surgery to her. She has to stay another day and hopes to be released on Friday. She has an iv drip in now to thin her blood because they are afraid of blood clots. After that works, they will put her on meds to control the heart rate. If that doesn't work they will do a cardio conversion which is a shock treatment to get the heart back into a normal rhythm. I sure hope she comes out of this ok. I feel partially responsible!! I better go check on Ethan. The quietness means he's napping or into trouble! BBL
