Good afternoon, Violets... What a day I've had. First off... to answer your question, Jane.. I pay $30 for a cut and style and about $80 for color, cut and style. Secondly, the Bobster owes me BIG TIME for a LONG TIME!! He dropped me off at church this morning so I could get choir stuff ready. (DS Joe has my car). I told him I'd see him after church. Soooooo I get everything ready and church starts. The choir sings the introit and no Bob. We march up, finish the first hymn, announcements and greetings. No Bob. Choir anthem, children's message. No Bob. I'm getting worried. I look at my friend Bill in the choir, mouth the words.. "where's Bob" and he mouths back.."want me to call him?". I nod yes and Bill leaves. Still no Bob. Sermon is finished and I'm to play a flute duet for offertory. No Bob and no Bill and I'm REALLY worried. Duet went very well even though my mind wasn't in it at all, we got applause and I sit down thinking I need to get out of there because I don't know what's happening. But I figure Bill would let me know so I stay and at the very end of the service, there is Bill giving me the thumbs up sign. Turns out my big brained, highly educated, Doctorate in Philosophy husband got to talking on the phone and thought church was at the same time as his little church.. 11 a.m. NOOOOO, our service is at 10!! So instead of him being dead on the floor or taking care of our children or something bad like that... he was drinking coffee, eating a pancake breakfast from McDonald's, chit chatting on the phone and reading the paper. He apologized profusely, but he knows how it feels because he's always in a panic if I'm not home when I say I'll be. So now he's in my debt for a longgggggggg time to come. I smacked him upside the head too, of course. Made me feel a little better. As my friend Kathy said to Bob at lunch.... it's a good thing Bolenz (local jeweler) is not open today, otherwise you'd be in there getting something really nice for your wife!! I had a nice nap today after calling my DDIL. She was sick yesterday when I called her about Christmas presents and I was worried about her. If she misses her clinical classes, she's booted out of the nursing program and she only has 6 months to go to her RN. Thank goodness, she's feeling fine today and everything is back to normal. I didn't sleep well last night worrying about that. So I'm up and the Bobster got some of the Christmas lights put up. We'll try and get the rest tomorrow or Tuesday. It will be the earliest we have had things done ... ever!! I have stuffed chicken breast in the oven with some butternut squash for supper. I'll check back in later this evening after Desperate Housewives. TracyK... lmao about the cat/Jane comparison!!!

Good Morning, Violets.. We got home at 11 last night and this Gramma was pooped! We had a great day even though the crowds were unbelievable. I told you it was St. Antler's day and of course all the hunting widows were out shopping. We went to an outlet mall first and waited in line for 40 minutes for a table for lunch before we called it quits and decided to shop instead and eat later. We got some great deals on clothes. Kris got some maternity things and I got some slacks. I got size 16, 14 and 12 and they all fit. If they are zip up with no elastic, 16 fits, zip up with elastic at the sides, 14 fits and elastic all around, 12 fits. Go figger!! Kris got a crib, basinette and changing table and the best part was she paid for it all!! It's nice to have a P.A. in the family cause I sure couldn't afford all that stuff anymore. But I am so proud and happy that they are both doing so well. I woke up this morning to snow on the ground. I have church in a little bit and then rehearsal this afternoon from 1:30 - 3 and then it will be nap time for sure. I got most of the Christmas shopping done for the grandkids. Just a few more clothes items and that will be completed. Time to get some breakfast and get ready for church. Everyone have a great day!!

Good Morning, Violets. I'm up and showered. Just have to get dressed and put my make up on and do my hair. I'm pumped to go baby shopping!!! I'm going to get Ethan's Christmas shopping done today too. Laura.. you're way ahead of the game! I don't have the energy to think of Christmas yet, though I'm rehearsing for four Christmas gigs already. December is going to be a blur to me. I just finished some ham salad for breakfast. No crackers.. just 1/2 cup of ham salad. I'm taking my Ocean Spray White Cranberry/Peach along with me. Will try and get back on when we get home, but I expect it will be late and I'll be pooped! Everyone have a GREAT day!!

Good evening, Violets. We're back from the movie and I really don't recommend it. It's the new James Bond movie, Quantum Solace. It was just all action, no plot and no humor. Very boring. And I LOVE 007 movies. I'm going to go watch the Pistons game and then hit the hot tub and bed. We're going baby furniture shopping tomorrow!! I'll be gone all day. Will check in when I get back home if it's not too late. Have a great evening. Sleep well.

I'm back from running errands. Got everything done and we're back home and then realized we didn't go to the book store! And that was #1 on the list.. oh well, we'll go before the movie tonight. PamELa... no school here today because of St. Antler's day. Rifle deer season starts tomorrow and all the whackos are on the road driving up here so the kids get a day off. Plus most of them are in the upper grades are at hunting camps today anyway. TracyK.. it's beautiful!! Such a deal you got!

Nope.. never heard of the N series until I looked at the link you just gave. The book I'm talking about is Just After Sunset. It's a collection of 13 short stories. It got excellent reviews in People magazine, if that means anything.

Woooo hooooooo Stephen King's new book is out. I'm headed to the book store as soon as the Bobster gets home!! Had ham salad and a few crackers for lunch plus some mandarin orange segments. Just waiting again til I can drink my water. It's really dreary here today. Temp is 50, but no sun in sight. I think snow is on it's way..

Close, Haydee... you were darn close! If I were you, I'd get PamELa to be your spellchecker. :tongue2::tt2: Well, Joe called and he's not working today, so no Ethan for Grandma. I'm going to continue bagging up clothes for St. Vincent's. I have two garbage bags full already and haven't even started in my closets. This was just stuff I had in the laundry room ready for a garage sale that didn't happen. So out it goes to a worthy cause. I had an egg with a slice of cheese for breakfast and am now waiting to start my first water of the day. The Bobster is at work and when he gets home we're going out for a fish dinner and then to see Quantum Solace. It won't be Sean or Pierce, but any Bond film is a good one. Catch you later...

Good Morning, Violets... I got up at 7 to let the garage dog out.. (she sleeps on the floor by our bed at night now) and stopped to read the posts. Terry.. glad you're back. We missed you. But then when I went back to bed I had the weirdest dream about the Violets. I went to the dentist which is a long story in itself about a new dentist with cowboy boots and then I went to make another appointment and ended up at a chinese restaurant and there were Michelle, Pam, Kat and TracyK. I was so suprised to see them and we had a good visit, but then when we were leaving, it dawned on me.. (I'm a slow study), that here they were in Alpena and I didn't know they were going to be there. Michelle was heading back to Chicago and she had had her eyebrows done and cost her $2.50 They were long and curly..... eyebrows!!! Kat told me there had been posts about the meeting, but they were written cryptically. I started to walk home being really upset and then realized my car was back at the restaurant. Then I woke up. Weird, weird, weird!!! I didn't get up again until 9:30. Ethan comes at noon for the rest of the day. Everyone have a good one. Will check back later.

Tracy... how did it go today?? Did the doc prescribe meds?? I'm anxious to hear what the counselor and doctor say about Robby and how they can help. You're doing all the right things for you and for Robby. I'm proud of you!!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm just up after taking a nap with Ethan. He's watching some TV now so I get a chance to post. DD Kris's blood pressure was a little high and she was concerned that the baby hadn't moved for 3 days (a fact she had not shared ahead of time.... "I didn't want to worry you"... :thumbup:) Doctor listened for the heartbeat and it was strong. Kris's BP was up when the nurse took it, but back down when the doctor took it. Doc says it goes up because of all the blood flowing through the heart now because of the baby. She gave her a "kick count" to do. I had never heard of it before. She has to lay on her left side for 1 to 2 hours and count the number of kicks she feels. She says she felt fluttering during those 3 days, but not the kicks as previous to that. Doc didn't seem worried, but is having her do a 24 hour urine test just as a precaution. Kris worries about every little thing. She gets that from her father. The Bobster was hovering over her when he got home. Kris went back to work for the afternoon and has tomorrow off. TRACYK!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU??????????? You're always here in the morning first thing! You ok????? Haydee.... have a wonderful time at the big to do tonight!! Take pics!!! Get autographs!!! Mention my name!!!! :thumbup::tt2:

Good Morning, Violets.. Ethan arrived at 8 this morning and I wasn't expecting him til noon. DD Kris is here and we're going to the doctor to have her blood pressure checked. The Bobster will take Ethan with him when he picks up our friend to take her to her radiation treatment. After that it will be Ethan time all day. I'm glad I was able to get some things done yesterday when he wasn't here. I'll check back when we get back from the doctor. Michelle... I had NOTHING to do with us getting kicked out of the buffet. That would be dear Haydee trying to say HOR-ticulture. Some people have no sense of humor!! BBL...

Good evening, Violets.... Just home from choir and dinner. Michelle... what the heck you been drinking today???? And no, you're not the only one not wanting to listen to the news. Each day it seems to get worse. Today I spent the day calling places to rearrange payment due dates. The Bobster will be done with his church in January and we have to rearrange bills because of one less paycheck. I didn't want to be late on any payments so I was on the phone a lot today to get things moved around. Things will be better when I start getting... **gasp*** Social Security in July. Haydee, you're so right. No matter what is happening in our lives, it's always like coming home when I get on here and see everyone's posts. We've all bonded in a special way and look past each other's faults. Course I don't have any, but that's another story.:frown::tt2::mad::thumbup: We went out to dinner with my friend Kathy and her husband. She is 5 weeks out from surgery and she ate a fried walleye dinner with a salad and redskin potatoes. I couldn't believe how much she ate. She is NOT following the diet plan from our nutritionist at all. I'm not going to say anything, but reality is going to come crashing in on her when she goes next month for a fill. I can't see her losing any weight this month when she goes for her weigh in. I eat less than half what she eats and I can't get the scale to budge anywhere but up. What's wrong with this picture??????? Time to go watch some tv with the Bobster and then hit the hot tub. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well.
