Good evening, Violets.. Well, I hate to add to your carbs, but you ladies are on a ROLL tonight!! Just got back from Amahl. Not a sell out crowd by any means, but a decent one and it was a better performance than last night. Tomorrow afternoon is the final performance and hopefully it will be the best ever. Well, the winter storm watch is cancelled for this evening, even though it is still snowing humungous flakes out there. BUT.. we are under a winter storm warning for tomorrow and Sunday. 8-10 more inches. And guess whose BRAND NEW snowblower isn't working????????????? It's going into the shop tomorrow and it better be fixed tomorrow!! The Bobster is NOT a happy camper. I finished up the day with a Lean Cuisine dinner and will have a glass of chocolate milk before heading to bed. I got 3 batches of fudge made and managed to only lick the spoon on two of them. Everyone have a good evening. Hope Jane is doing ok. Nighters....

Good afternoon, Violets.. Ethan has arrived and he's playing at my music keyboard right now. It's still snowing hard here, but the wind has died down some. We went to Walmart to get a couple of things and the roads are pretty bad. I'm guessing we'll have the play tonight as there is no time to make up the date, but I'm also guessing there won't be many that can make it out. I'm only a mile or two away so it's no problem for me to get there. I've been bidding on ebay all morning trying to get a Wii console for DS Joe. He wants to get that for the family for Christmas. I finally, FINALLY won one, but had to chip in some of my own money as his top price was about $70 short. Now I just hope he pays me back before quarterly taxes are due the 15th of Jan. Bob and I are going to make some MORE fudge this afternoon. We forgot a couple of names and I want to make some for the hospital nursing administration where I volunteer. And also some for snacks after caroling on Monday. So, off to get that done. Hope we hear something positive from Jane soon. Piehole report for the day. B= 1 slice cheese L= cheesy chicken and rice which I Pb'd... all of it! couple mandarin orange segments... pb'd too. So I guess I'm done with lunch!! Will have some chocolate milk in an hour and then get to work on my water. Yikes.. the wind has picked up again and it's still snowing. This is gonna be fun tonight!

Good morning, Violets.. Well, we're in the middle of a blizzard here. It's a whiteout and we're supposed to get 6-12 inches of snow by tonight. Sooooooooo glad we have the new snowblower!! Ethan comes at 1:30. The schools are all closing by 10 a.m. I don't have anything on my agenda except the play tonight and I don't know if that will happen with all the snow. They have a sell out crowd for tonight too.. yikes!! It went well last night. Much easier than I thought and I wasn't nervous to be on stage, which is surprising for me. If anyone hears from Jane please make sure to let us know. Gosh the wind is really blowing out there!! It's 22 degrees with a wind chill of 5 and my weather bug has been chirping all morning! I'm going to go get some breakfast and get dressed to do nothing today! Everyone have a good one... Oh.. CJBanks has 50% off of everything today only online. I'm headed there too!

Whew.. I'm back. Being without power when it's 17 degrees out is not a good thing. And my fireplace is electric. Ethan kept bringing me the remote and saying.. what happened? What happened? Then he'd point to the tv expecting me to turn it on! YIKES!!! The power was off for about a half hour. We just have to remember to reset the hot tub. It doesn't go back on automatically when the power comes back on. Off to do some knitting while Ethan is watching Dora. Oh.. and I hate to mention it, but the Bobster with all his faults, does help a lot around the house. Course he makes most of the mess, so he SHOULD clean it up!! I know I'm blessed to have him as a hubby. He keeps telling me every day!!:ohmy: BBL...

Ok.... well, that sent before I was done! PamELa.. I'm so proud of you sticking with your dissertation. The Bobster took many years to finish his and his dad died during that time too, so I know what you're going through. But he did it and is so glad he did. It was a major accomplishment for him. Yet he still doesn't like to use that title.. Rev. Dr. H. Robert Case. I use it all the time. I tell him I paid for it.. we're going to use it!!! Ladies, can you imagine what it would be like if we all lived within 50 miles of each other??? We would be legends at every restaurant we went to!!!:w00t::ohmy: And I'd always be the designated driver.. TracyK...you need to step away from the scales for a few days and never ever step on them during your TOM!!! I think we all need to set a goal January 1 that will be reasonable and attainable by June 25th. Gotta go kiss another owie and then get my hair combed for the day. Everyone make it a good one!!! Suzie and Tracy, hope it works out for lunch for you two today. BBL...

Good Morning, Violets.. EThan has arrived and he's sitting in his high chair coloring with MomMom's red pen. Every once in a while he'll call out "owie, MomMom" so I have to go in and kiss his little red pen marks on his hand. Life is good!! Michelle... I know Bob has 9.5 in his band and our doc said to be careful because he was getting up to the limit. I'm at 3.5 and I can honestly say I wouldn't want mine any tighter. I have too many pb's as it is. My only downfall now is the sweets. If they went down like food does, I'd be skinny in no time. But they just slide right down and that's frustrating simply because I KNOW better!! But I'm not gaining... just maintaining. And after we get back into our exercise routine, I am counting on getting back on the losing track. We're all in this together and it looks like we're all experiencing the same things. Let's just focus on being cheerleaders for each other and help each other get to goal... deal???? We have a storm warning for tonight and tomorrow.. so what's new?? I just hope the Friday performance of Amahl doesn't get cancelled. We worked too hard to have one of three shows ditched. Bob and Kris and our friends from cruising are going on Saturday. We should have it all perfected by then. And then I'm done!! Well except for the church pageant on Sunday, playing flute at the senior citizen's home Sunday night and caroling Monday evening. But then I'm REALLY done!! The Bobster is at a funeral today for the gentleman who joined church last Sunday. I have Ethan til 4 and then go to Amahl. Sorry I missed all the brisket adventure. I was having my own adventure trying to get to Texas!

Just back from the trikke shop. They have a fantastic recumbunt bike I'm going to start saving for. It costs a bundle, but it will be so much fun on the bike path in town. Now to get my Trikke out of storage and start using it. They have two sessions a week at the Rec. center just for trikkes. Beginning Jan. 8, that's where I'll be on Thursday nights. Off to choir. We're under a winter storm watch for tomorrow and Friday. Oh joy.

Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm sitting in my new computer chair. Can you believe I've worn out one already?? This one is so comfy and nice. I might just sit here all day. Oh wait.. there's a sale on at Pebbles. Guess I've sat long enough.. Michelle.. the Bobster and I didn't go to the doc this past Monday. We both know we don't need a fill.. we just need a major brain adjustment. We KNOW what we're supposed to eat, but the crap keeps calling our name. I only had one piece of fudge today, but that's more than I should have. I had a couple bites of stratta and blueberry muffin for lunch, but it all stuck. Only protein I've had today is the slice of cheese I had for breakfast. I am happy with the weight I am at now, but I sure would love to be able to say I got to goal. That's my intention for the new year. Our WII fit has been at DSIL's house for a month now. I asked for it back so Bob and I can get back into that routine. I know that our downfall is exercise. That's going to be my goal for the new year. A regular routine. It's just too difficult now with everything I have going. That's my excuse, anyway!! Off to check out the Trikke track. Then to choir rehearsal. BBL.......

Good afternoon, Violets.. Just back from my hospital shift. Ethan is here and sleeping on the couch. Bob was not able to use the new snowblower today cause I was gone and Ethan had a melt down when his daddy left. Soooooo I'm home now and the new snowblower will get it's trial run. We got about 4 inches of snow last night. I got all the fudge boxed up and ready to be given out. I think I will make a couple more batches to take to the hospital next week. I also have cookies to make for the after caroling party on Monday. Lots of personals to catch up on, but I'll take the easy way out and say ditto to everything everyone has said about everything and everyone. There.. that was easy!! Off to fix some lunch and wait for Ethan to wake up. Everyone have a great day. I've had a slice of cheese so far today. And 3 glasses of flavored water.

Good afternoon, Violets.. Back from the funeral. They were very appreciative. We're on our last batch of fudge and not a hint of cheese in any of it! We made 2 batches each of milk chocolate, peanut butter, mint and semi-sweet with nuts. Now to wait til it's all set so I can cut it and box it up. Got some cute boxes from Current this year. I figure I have about 14 people to make boxes for. We're going out to look for new computer chairs and then to a new Trikke rink. I got a Trikke a few years ago and swore I'd get on it after I lost some weight. Needless to say, it's still in the garage in the rafters. I'm anxious to see what the brand new track is like, cause I'll be able to do it in the winter. Our oldest son needs some cash to get gas to deliver his papers, so we'll head out there in a bit. Then back to church to pick up my drink bottle I left there. Rehearsal tonight from 6-8 and then I can rest the rest of the night. Think maybe I'll wrap Christmas presents tonight and get that all done. (that's called resting!) Pie hole report for today.. Good morning, Violets.. Been up for a while now. Took DS Joe to work so I could have my car today. We should have the deal wrapped up on Joe's car this week. Then I will have my car back permanently!! I have a funeral to sing at this morning, then finish up the fudge making. It's darn cold here. 7 degrees right now. No snow or rain in the forecast so I'll keep my fingers crossed I can get in the hot tub tonight. Haven't been able to do that for several days because of the weather. We have our last rehearsal tonight for Amahl and then the performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It really is going to be a nice production. It's all local talent of course and they are amazing. I'm just part of the shepherd's chorus so no big part, but still is fun. I've been on ebay lately getting things for the baby shower in January. Such fun!! Kris is coming over on Friday to go over everything and make sure we've got our ducks in a row. Time to go get dressed for the funeral. Everyone have a great day and make wise choices!!

Good evening, Violets.. Another rehearsal done. Just one more tomorrow night and then the performances. I have a funeral to sing for tomorrow morning and then nothing til rehearsal in the evening. Tomorrow is my DS's 33rd b'day!! YIKES... it just doesn't seem possible. I remember the day I gave birth to him so clearly it couldn't have been that long ago, could it?? COULD IT????? Kat.. Ethan loved the card you and Kinsey sent. He kept counting the puppies. Oh and he got ahold of Bob's cell phone and called me and DS Joshua. Twice. What a hoot. At least he didn't call anyone overseas!! The Bobster picked up our new snowblower today so let it snow anytime now!! We're prepared. The wind blew so hard here today that it blew off a piece of trim from the storm door! The side roads are just solid ice and I'm wondering if they will have school tomorrow. Going to go watch tv with the Bobster and then go and get the last of the ingredients for fudge. We made 2 batches that were too grainy. I found a new recipe and it's wonderful. Got 3 batches made with 3 left to go. Then cut it, box it and get it out of here!! Everyone have a good night. Cherry Orange Cookies Dried Cherry White chocolate Holiday Wreath Cookies © Jackie Milligan Nov 10, 2008 Cookies are one of the all time favorite snacks; these delicious cookies offer the tang of citrus, chewy dried cherries and creamy white chocolate. Weather they are for a party, an after school snack or just munching while you watch tv, cookies are at the top of the list of everyones favorite sweet treat. With more exotic dried fruits becoming easier to find and in some cases more economical than fresh fruit, it makes sense to make a cookie out of one of Americas favorite fruits - the cherry. Cherries are said to be high in antioxidants, contain high levels of Vitamin C and beta carotene. With the health benefits of this tasty little fruit added to the Vitamin C of the orange, these cookies offer health benefits as well as being a delicious treat. Ingredients: 1 c butter 2 eggs 3/4 c brown sugar 3/4 c granulated sugar 1/2 tsp orange extract 2 tbsp grated orange peel (fresh or dried) 1/2 tsp almond extract 1/4 c triple sec 1/2 c half & half 1/2 c sour cream 1/4 tsp salt 3 3/4 c flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1 c dried cherries 1 c white chocolate chips Directions: heat oven to 350 in large bowl, mix softened (not melted) butter with firmly packed brown sugar and white sugar add eggs and mix until well incorporated mix in orange peel stir in sour cream until mixture is smooth in small bowl, mix triple sec, orange extract, almond extract and half & half in a separate bowl, sift flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder add dry ingredients alternately with wet ingredients into butter and egg mixture being sure to mix well after each addition when all of the wet and dry ingredients have been mixed together, add cherries and chocolate pieces mixing just enough to incorporate drop by tablespoon full onto cookie sheets bake in pre-heated oven for 10 - 12 minutes until a light golden brown For a festive alternative, omit white chocolate chips from batter. After cookies have cooled dip them halfway in melted white chocolate. Using green and red candied cherries cut out wedges to be used as leaf decorations. These can be placed on top of the white chocolate before it dries. These cookies can also be made into tasty wreaths. While cookies are still warm, use a doughnut hole cutter to cut out center of cookie. Dip top of cookie in melted white chocolate, while chocolate is still wet sprinkle with red and green sugar crystals and decorate with wedges of candied cherry. An equally delicious way to enjoy these cookies is to make blueberry lemon cookies. Use the same recipe above substituting dried blueberries for the cherries and lemon extract and lemon rind for the orange. Also substitute vanilla extract for the almond.

This is the recipe of the day on Allrecipes.com Cheesy Ranch Chex Mix INGREDIENTS (Nutrition) 9 cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex® or Wheat Chex® Cereal (or combination) 2 cups bite-size pretzel twists 2 cups bite-size cheese crackers 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted 1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing and seasoning mix 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Add to Recipe Box My folders: Add to Shopping List Add a Personal Note DIRECTIONS In large microwaveable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal, pretzels and crackers until evenly coated. Stir in dressing mix and cheese until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High 3 minutes, stirring each minute. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

Good morning, Violets.. What a blustery day! We have wind gusts to 40 mph and all the schools are closed. It's 34 and supposed to get into the 20's quickly with this cold front going through. Everything looks so different out there right now! The big mound of snow I could see from my laundry room window is gone. The driveway is almost clear right down to the cement though there is a mound of icy stuff at the end that the snow plow dropped when it plowed our road. Had a sad night last night. Bob got a call that a church member had passed away. He and his wife had just become members yesterday morning during church. He had a heart attack. Just makes me doubly sad thinking how she's feeling at this time of the year. Christmas will have a whole different meaning for her the rest of her life. Going to go fix some breakfast and then get dressed for the day. Everyone make it a good one.

Good evening, Violets.. I hate to tell you Susie.. but you're beyond Alpena cold right now. We are at 41 degrees and everything is melting. Our concert is done and it went very well. It was probably the best we have sung the Messiah, ever. We got a standing ovation at the end of the concert so that feels good. Now on to tomorrow and fudge making. Ethan comes at 2 and I have rehearsal at 6. Everyone have a great evening. Sleep well. Stay warm. Get healthy!!

Good afternoon, Violets.. Home from church and now changed and leaving for rehearsal in an hour. It looks really yucky out here today. The temp is 34 and everything is drippy. We're supposed to get rain and snow today and that will make it really messy to drive. Jenn.. sounds like you got it really bad in your area. I have watched some clips on the news and it looks beautiful, but scary with all the ice. I'm hoping we don't get anything like that here. PamELa.. hope you feel better soon. Have you used any Zicam?? TracyK.. hope you get your check cleared quickly. You've waited so long for it and now it's just sitting there!! The Bobster and I will be on a fudge making spree tomorrow since we don't have to travel to the doctor. Hope we can get it all done and boxed up so we're not tempted.
