Good afternoon, Violets.. Wow.. sure is quiet today. It's a dreary day here today... rainy and cloudy. We are going out to dinner with friends tonight. My first time in 5 weeks! I'm not doing any therapy today to see if it affects the swelling. The knee seems to be much better today. We got the bill for the surgery today. $3,000 for the doctor and $34,000 for the hospital.. yikes!!! We owe $550 of that. Sure am glad we have insurance! Off to ice the knee and get ready for the evening out. Everyone have a great day!

Good evening, Violets.. What a nice day today. I had therapy this morning and it went very well. The gestapo therapist was actually very nice and didn't hurt me at all. I did 10 minutes on the sitting stepper, 10 minutes on the stationary bike and 5 minutes on the total gym. Got the knee to bend to 105 and the therapist was very pleased. I go back on Monday again. I'm wondering how many more weeks I'll go cause things are progressing more each time and there is only so much they can do once the knee starts bending like it should. I took 2 pain pills before going to therapy so I was really tired when I got home. I slept for 2 hours and then Bob and I ventured out to Wal-Mart. First time I have been in there getting my own tabloids in 5 weeks!! It felt good till I got home, then had to take another pain pill. I'll have to remember to bring them with me to Ca. Michelle.. the church board picks the interim minister who will probably be with us for at least 2 years, then a search committee will be formed to read profiles and find another minister. I am going to volunteer to be on the search committee. If it works out for Bob and the Saginaw position, he will be there a few days a week and home a few days. I can handle it. But that doesn't open up until December and we don't know how long he will be at the church he is at now. They are in the search process and reviewing profiles, but the congregation keeps telling the committee to take it slow. They really like Bob.. lol PamELa.. hope everything is going well with you and Susanne and her mom. I'm going to try and sleep in our bed tonight. The couch has been so darn comfortable, it's hard to change. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Wooo Hooooo!!! Back from therapy and it was great! I got to ride the stationary bike and make the pedals go alllllllllllllll the way around for the first time. I got the knee to bend to 104 on the Total Gym and she never pulled out the torture band that usually kills me. I see her again tomorrow and hopefully it will be the same. Can't tell you how relieved I am not to be cussing her out in my mind! Off to ice the knee. The sun came out and it looks like I'll be able to get in the pool this afternoon.

Good morning, Violets.. 63 degrees and 94% humidity... yuck. It's really dark out and raining. It's not looking good for some pool time this afternoon. PamELa... prayers and purple power to all of you today, especially Susanne's mom. Well, I have the gestapo therapist today. Only today and tomorrow with her and then she's history. I'll grit my teeth and hope she doesn't push me beyond my limit today. I took an extra pain pill and a peanut butter cookie to try and get me through. I'll be bringing my cane along to Disney Land... I hear it gets you to the front of the lines faster.. :thumbup::tt2: Off to pain land... Everyone have a great day!!

Janie and I are on the same flight from Chicago. We have our seats together too. Purple power on those planes for sure!!! I'm off to the pool for my first exercising today. It finally got up to 70 degrees. The water temp is 92 so I'll be staying way down in the water for sure!

Woooo hoooooo, great job, Michelle!!! And yes, if you want my schedule (with pain added, of course) just get yerself one of dem knee replacements. I finished one pack of my candy cigarettes.. and they are packaged the same way as years ago, except they don't have the word cigarette on the box anywhere. Just.. candy. Yeah, right, slender white sticks with red dye at one end. I finished my therapy in the pool and had to take a pain pill a while later. At least I can go longer than 4 hours without a pill. I usually only have one a day now, so I guess that's progress. Choir starts next week. I hope I'm ready. The first rehearsal will be a short one with a pot luck afterwards. I usually have them out here at the house for a party, but I just can't be a good hostess right now. Thursday the church board will be doing phone interviews of 3 people who are interested in coming to be our interim minister. Can't wait to have someone in place to help us heal and move on. The Bobster just called and he's on his way home. Got to get supper going.... caramelized onion chicken, fresh broccoli and hash browns... yums.

Michelle.. sounds like the "top off" fill is really going to work for you. Hope it's not toooo tight, though. I can't wait to get back for my fill in Sept. I'm doing well, but need my tool back. Kris brought me some candy cigarettes and Clark bars. Just what I need!! She knows me well, though.. Lunch, pool therapy and snoozing this afternoon. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Good morning, Violets.. Had such a good day yesterday and hoping for another today. No therapy except the pool for me today and that's great. I had a good night's sleep, got up at 7:30 to let the dogs out and then laid on the couch and fell asleep til 9:30.. yikes!! Sooo Liza and I have something in common, eh.? I have a concert coming up on Sept. 11.. hope I don't disappoint!!!! Laura.. I looked up the Old Spice guy and he has a daughter.. and a girlfriend.. Ladies (and a select few of you gents): Isaiah does indeed have a girlfriend. She's a dancer -- "professional, not pole," he is quick to note -- whom he says is fantastic and funny. And if that "he's taken" thing isn't made very clear? "She will kill me, she will be after me, high heels in hand," he says in mock terror, adding a good-natured chuckle. "Let that be known, I have a girlfriend!" And I never realized how tiny Kathy Griffin was... yikes!!! She's had a LOT of work done to herself. Glad you enjoyed the show and meeting her. PamELa... these are the days that retired teachers love the most. When the countdown to school starts, I just think of sleeping in late, swimming in the pool and sitting in an a/c home with my doggies and the Bobster. Have I mentioned I LOVE retirement?? But I did love teaching and I do miss the little munchkins. After 32 years, I knew it was time and have never regretted it. Now the Bobster is a different story. When this interim position is over in a few months he's looking at another one in Saginaw which is a few hours away. We'll see how that pans out. He really is not ready to quit entirely yet, he loves preaching too much. If he wasn't so good at it I would encourage him to really retire, but he's one of the best in his profession. Besides he has to make money to fund his golf addiction now.. lol Off to find some breakfast and take my pills. I am only taking pain pills when I go to therapy now, so that's a big improvement. Good evening, Violets.. Another same o, same o day today. I got in the pool twice for my exercises. Tomorrow I meet with the therapist again... the nice one. I only have 2 more sessions with the gestapo therapist and then I'm done with her. It will ve the two nice ones after that until I'm done with therapy.. probably another couple of weeks. I can see improvement, but it sure is a long, long haul. Just hope I'm able to get around well for the trip next month. It certainly is my goal. Joe starts his new job tomorrow. I'm anxious to hear how it goes for him. He says Ethan plays my book at least 6 times a day. Sure do miss that little guy. Off to watch Food Network Star and then whatever is on E.. Everyone have a good evening!!

Good afternoon, violets... Just back from support group meeting. First time I have been out and about in a month. I managed to make it through the meeting alternating sitting and standing. Back home and had a taco for lunch. Kris, Nathan and Bob went to the museum in town to see the WWII exhibit. I couldn't manage walking that long so I'm home on the couch. I'll get in the pool when they get home. From all the people I've talked to that have had knee replacement, 6 weeks seems to be the turning point. So I'm anxiously waiting 2 more weeks and hope to see improvement. It's bearable, but sure is a pain... literally! Off to rest on the couch a bit and ice the knee. Thanks for your concern and phone calls Janie!!!! I'm sure I'll be fine for the trip. If not, can I rest my leg on your lap on the plane?? Everybody have a great weekend!!

Good morning, Violets.. I was supposed to go to therapy today, but I called and cancelled it. I just couldn't bear her pulling and bending and not listening when I said it hurt. I'll go in the pool today and do my exercising there where it is way less painful, but just as productive. Kris and Grady are coming over this afternoon to swim. Kris and Nathan bought 5 acres of property yesterday and will be putting their house up for sale next summer and will build a new home. They are also going to start trying to get pregnant again next month. Lots of excitement. Haven't heard from Joe. I left a voicemail yesterday and no answer yet. I'm hoping they are just too busy getting settled, but you know how parents worry. As for the band. I still am sold on it. With mine unfilled it has been a struggle not snacking all the time. I still eat a reasonable portion, but of course nothing gets stuck, so no reminders of good eating habits. We have an appointment Sept. 20 for a refill. I'm only going to have him put in 1 cc. and hope that takes care of the burping issue I had when it was filled before. Off to the couch to ice my knee before I head out to the pool in a little bit. Drive by post.. Hot and humid here. Love my pool. Joe and family should be in Wyoming today.. they drove straight through. Knee is better each day, but still can't sit in a chair for very long. Doing my walking in the pool. Everyone have a great day!
