Hi everyone. It has been a while since I have posted anything. Busy, Busy. Tomorrow I get my 2nd fill. I am so excited. I am not counting on a lot of restriction, but I sure hope that I have some this time. I have lost 32 lbs, and I am 3 lbs from wonderland. I am happy with my weight loss, and very proud of myself. I workout at the gym, and I work hard, it shows, even when I am not losing weight. My body is toning up nicely (except for my lower belly, it is getting a little smaller but definetly not toning at this point). I wish you all love and luck!!

I Am Looking For A Mentor/buddy. (Struggling A Bit)
XTA replied to XTA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello Debra. It is great to hear from you. I too had my surgery in Tijuans. Dr. Ortiz was my surgeon. It went great. Good luck to you tomorrow, and I can't wait to hear from you. I think it would be great to be buddys!
<img border="0" src=" -
Hello. I am a 35 year old woman. I am a stay at home mom. I have a 7 and a 4 year old, (and a 42 year old). When I started my pre-op diet I weighed 234 lbs. I had my surgery on the 17th of Feb. I got my first fill on March 27, and I am struggling. I have been fluckuating between losing 21 and 24 lbs. for about a month now. I work out 5 days a week for 1-2 hours a day. I eat right, and I just don't get what is going on. I just need someone to talk to, or some advice or something. It is just really frustrating losing and gaining the same lb. or 2 over and over again. Please help. I am a very down to earth open minded person. If you would like to be my mentor/buddy, I am here. And would love to talk. Have a great day!

I am a self payer. I had mine done in Mexico with Dr. Ortiz for the 4995k. Which is a great price. The surgeons are great. Some of the best in the world on weight loss surgeries. The surgical hospital was super nice, very clean, and everyone is so friendly. It was a great experiance. The problem is that now that I need a fill no one in my area will touch a band done in Mexico. (they act like we had it sdone in the back alley or something) Anyways, I will be traveling 3 hours to the next state to have my fills. I will be staying overnight in case I need some removed or something. So in the long run I may be paying as much or more for my surgery than the people in the states. Thanks Idaho for not doing my fill. Anyways explore your options and good luck to you. I do not regret my choice however. It has already changed my life, and I only had it done in Feb.

When Did You Start Working Out Again?
XTA replied to kr8160311's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at the gym almost 2 weeks after surgery. But only the treadmill, and a little of the bike. Today was my first day doing weight reps. Friday will be 5 weeks post op. Even with working out, I am not really losing. I have lost maybe 3 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I go in for my first fill next week, and really hope I have restriction. I am not sure after reading everyones posts if I will or not. But treadmill should be fine, if you feel like it. Maybe not running. Good luck! -
I am starting an auquasize program in the morning. I have been working out at the gym for 3 weeks. The treadmills overlook the pool, and I just want to dive in. I have lost lost 22 lbs, but I am still insecure. I bought a new suit yesterday and tomorrow I will start my croos training. Jump in the pool and enjoy your time excercising. Good luck!

God will be watching over you, plus you will get all our positive happy thoughts sent your way. I have 2 little ones also, and I did this surgery so I can be around for them for a relly long time. It is scary to think about not being there. You will be though, it is a simple procedure. And we will all enjoy a higher quality of life with our loved ones!! Good luck, my prayers are with you!

Today I am 5 days post-op. I slept so good last night on my port side, with no pain. I am a side and stomach sleeper, so it was wonderful. I have lost my surgery weight, and am down 15 lbs all together, 219. My husband goes out of town today until Sunday, so I will have to take full parental duties on again today. I wish you all luck, love, and happiness!! Judych, the airports were rough, especially Pheonix it is sooo big, and tons of walking. But, we manged, my husbands ankle was swollen and bruised after the trip, but I don't feel that sorry for him since I pulled the luggage around. I only took 2 little carry-ons. Good luck to you!! I did go to Mexico because I don't have insurance at the current time, and after researching I felt very positive about Dr. Ortiz and his staff. They are great, and have done over 10,000 surgeries so I knew I was in good hands. Plus we thought Tijuana was beautiful! We met alot of really neat people from all over the U.S, and Canada that were having surgery. And it was warm, it is so cold here in Idaho. BRRRR!!!

How Long Should I Expect This Pain To Last?
XTA replied to KassieRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kassie, I had surgery last friday, and last night was the first night I slept great, with no pain at the port. And I have been on Ibruprofen for the last 2 days. It does get better. Day 3 was my worst day. The gas in my chest is pretty much gone now also. Hang in there, it will go away as your body heals. -
Well. I haven't posted in a few days. I had my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Ortiz last friday. So I am 4 days post-op now. The surgery went great. The only immediate pain that I had was the gas bubble under my left breast bone (a big one). It is almost gone now. My incisions are almost all the way healed already, so that is good. The day after surgery I traveled for 15 hours, a border crossing, 3 airports, and 3-5 miles of walking. I was beat by the end of the day. I am sure I over did it, but I didn't have a choice. Yesterday sucked I just wanted to eat something, and was kind of bitter that I could'nt. Woke up today with a much better attitude. I do get to have a smoothie today. Yae! I wish you all luck! I can't wait to be in Onederland!
