    still researching lapband

I was just like you. Tried every diet in the world. I got the lapband 6 months ago, and have lost 33lbs. For me, it's not about what I eat now, but how much. Sure, I will lose more if I skip the ice cream, but I am still loosing with it. I eat 2/3 less than before. It's great.

  6. Hi everyone, I know this is a gross question, but is it possible to barf with a lap band. I don't mean from something getting stuck. I mean from the lower part of the stomach like with a virus or food poisoning.

    Marchies In April

Hi everyone, I was banded March 1. I feel great. I have lost 22lbs. I will be having my first fill next week. Right now I can eat everything, and for a week have been hungry. I am hoping the fill will fix that. I have been walking, but it is time to kick up the exercise.
  9. Hi, I had the band put on in March of this year with a BMI of 35. I have already lost 22lbs and my first fill isn't until next week. The band was a great decision for me. I think I had tried every diet out there with a yoyo kind of success. I of course did not qualify for insurance. I went to Mexico, and Dr. Rumbaut did the procedure for about half the price. I would highly recommend him. I say go for it. It is a shame America is so behind on this type of surgery

    getting banded in May

The best advice I can give is get a heating pad. It really helps the post op pain, which really isn't that bad. I thought the heat was better than pain meds. Good Luck

    Mexico Doctor

Hi, I was banded by Dr. Rumbaut on March 1, 2007. It was a wonderful experience. I have lost 21lbs. The cost included all the preop tests, the surgery, hotel, nutrition support, and hospital stay. I was picked up at the airport and taken to all my appointments. The hospital was up to american standards easily. That was very important to me. The doctor even visited me in the hotel before I can home. I am doing great. It was the best decision I ever made. Another important thing, he will provide you with fill doctor references for you home city. Good Luck
  12. Go to Mexico. The price is about half. Many of the surgeons are more experienced than here in the states. Look up Mexico on this sight for more info. Its what I did.
  13. Have you tried isopure fruit punch drinks? You can get them at gnc. They have about 30g a drink. I find if I drink one a day. I can easily meet the requirements.

    Getting frustrated

what about yogurt, cream of wheat, oatmeal, and most of all protein shakes. You probably are getting enough protein if you drink 1 and 1/2 isopures a day

  17. I have not had a fill yet, and have not needed one. The earliest I can get one is April 15. My doc was Rumbaut. It was $10,600. I went on a Wedneday and returned home on Sunday.
  18. Hi, I also did all my consulting on the phone, and then preop tests the day before. They answered any questions I had. You can even talk to the doc. if you ask. I was banded march 1 and am doing great. The pain was mild and went away after about 10 days. I feel almost normal now. I have lost 18lbs.
  19. I was banded with a bmi of 34 in mexico on March 1. It was the best thing I did. I had been dieting for over 20 years yoyoing up and down. I think I had a mental addiction. Since the band I have lost 20lbs and am not hungry. For the first time in years I feel I have a chance to be successful.
  20. I am actually in Monterrey now. I was banded yesterday. Everything went beautifully. He and his staff were extremely professional. Hospital is up to american standards. Hotel is nice. Ask ques and I will try to answer
  21. Nataly, I am going to Dr. Rumbaut in Monterrey. His office already gave me the name of a physician to call here in Nashville for fills or any problems. Dallas is an easy flight to Monterrey. Have you considered just flying down there? If your doctors fills and follow ups are free like mine, it might not even be more expensive . Other than, of course you time.
  22. Lara and Kara, I am going to be banded in Monterrey on March 1 by Dr. Rumbaut. What hotel will you be staying at?
  23. I am going to be banded by Dr. Rumbaut on March 1. Can you tell me anything about your experience?
