Does anyone know if there are any support groups a person can attend in the Denver Metro area. Preferably the north side of Denver and what time and where they meet. I have been banded for 3 years and am so discouraged....having a rough time and hoping to try to hang in there...

oh yes I have had plenty of problems with them accessing the port....I am terrified of that needle and let my port go for a year throwing up 10 or more times a day because I was so afraid of the needle....I went into kidney failure and dehydration and finally started to lose some weight but had to get some fluid out. I am finally feeling better throwing up less but I have gained twenty pounds in less than a month so now the depression is setting in bad.........don't know what to do now....

I just went through something similar...could not even keep water down...they took 2.5 ml's out of my 4ml's I had in my band. I could not eat anything after five I could only eat about one bite of food every hour I finally started losing weight but I was losing my health as well..I would not take the advil because if you have swelling there at the band site the advil will just sit on it and eat away at it and can give you some ulceration there then you will hurt more.. I agree with the clear liquids and try to get some water in you or you will become dehydrated then you will have to go to the hospital for re hydration. the cheapest thing to do is go to the lap band dr have them take some fluid out. rest your stomach with the liquids tell the dr the problems you are having and tell them you can maybe make payments on the unfill.

yes having the same issues....then one day I could no longer keep water down...got so sick i thought I was going to die...got so weak had to leave work...I too have no insurance and had not seen a dr in a long time..went to my old dr's partner and they took 2.5 ml'sout of the 4 that were in my band and said to wait two weeks and see what is happening.. that was yester day I am holding things down a little better but still feel so sick and weak and dizzy bad kidney pain and ringing in my ears. feel like death ..try to get in before you get too dehydrated..your kidneys will stop putting out urine too..it is so hard to get this kind of information anywhere that I have seen...good luck to you..
