Just Joined Am I Feeling Normal?
Pollyanna12 replied to QueenieBee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery March 20> I tried to go to work on the 26th and couldn't: pain, tiredness, etc. I only made it a few hours on the 27th, 28th and 29 then went back on April 2. i wish I had taken that second week off. -
Good luck Bel12, I was just banded in march but my brother got his 8 years ago and my brother-in-law 4 years ago. They both say you only spit up if you eat too fast or take too big of a bite of food. Both say it is not what unbanded folks think "throwing up" is. One of them CAN eat salad, the other CAN'T. It is really individual. This website is an awesome resource. And lots of folks will answer any questions you have. Not everyone's hair falls out, and if some does - it WILL grow back as long as your nutritional intake is a good balance.

Doctors all differ, Mine had me do clear liquids 3-4 days, then all liquids to two weeks out, then mushy foods for two weeks (the instruction here was anything i can smuch with my tounge or chew lightly), next two weeks soft foods (anything I can cut with a fork - no knives!). Then on to regular foods. So a 6 week routine.

Go into the food and recipe section and search. There are tons there! Good luck

You can make your own with protein powder. There are lots of good recipes on this site and tons on the Internet. I get the vanilla whey powder at walmart and it's not too bad. -

THAT IS SO AWESOME! Congrat's and wherever you spend Easter you will surely be the "hit" of the party! -
I used to set my clock by Dt Pepsi. I thought it would impossible to live without. I weaned my self down and had my "last" diet pepsi the day before my pre-surgery liquid diet. I haven't even noticed it is gone! I drink a ton of water and some of the 20 oz single drink packets (crystal light, dt snapple) but dilute them in 32 oz water. I do some of the Dt Gatorade (G2). The G2 in the 32 oz is good the G2 in 24 oz is very salty!

Pollyanna12 replied to Kiskis's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
amhunt - I add one scoop protein powder to the SF/FF pudding mix and a touch less skim mil than the box calls for - it sets up juust fine. -
I add protein powder to pudding mix and use a little less skim milk that the box calls for. I had some vanilla sugar free pudding with vanilla protein powder that ended up tasting like vanilla cake batter ~ UMMMM, so good. I am on to mushies tomorrow but have really struggled getting my protein in too.

Post-Op Protein Question
Pollyanna12 replied to alexd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make sugar free pudding with a scoop of protein powder. The vanilla is sweet, some of the chocolate is less sweet. Last batch was banana cream and that really was a treat! I also eat low or no fat cottage cheese, loaded with protein! -

After Surgery/going Back To Work
Pollyanna12 replied to ☠carolinagirl☠'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a pretty stressful desk job, I had surgery Tuesday and tried to go back the next Tuesday. I was absolutely inundated with verbal info when I walked in and stayed for 4 hours. I had to nap when I got home. It is not the pain, but fatigue. Also, at about 3 1/2 hours yesterday, my port area really started to hurt. It is still really sore today. Maybe because I am sitting up. I try to walk alot but have been on the phone TOO MUCH. Unfortunately, most calls have sensitive client information so i cannot do too much on speaker phone. Maybe i ma just a baby. I wish I had planned for 2 weeks off. -
Banded On March 20Th 2012
Pollyanna12 replied to JohannaMae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I am such a baby! Banded on the 20th. Went to work today, only made it 4 hours. I have a desk job, and was inundated with information the minute I walked in the door! I have been mostly pain free since last Friday, and at 3 1/2 hours my port incision started hurting like crazy. By the time I left I was in pretty bad pain. I don't know why that happened but I figured I stayed 1/2 hour too long! Do not fret though, I am going back tomorrow!! -
