Pollyanna12 replied to Cyndie B's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay Cyndie!! Keep up the good work! Excited for you -
Good week for surgeries!! I go in tomorrow morning at 6:00! Best to all of you...I feel like the kid on the Disney World commercial "I'm too excited to sleep"
-
Catzz so glad for you! my surgery is in the morning, and honestly I felt like it would never get here! Good luck!
-
Surgery tomorrow, I am already tired! Just from the clear liquid diet (oh the drama!) Actually the last week has jot been too awful. I am riding on some high motivation right now. Best wishes for all who are struggling pre & post oo - fast healing for post surgery, and all who have depression - this may be a laproscopic surgery (less invasive) but this is really a big deal! For alot of us it the first time we are truly ding something for ourselves ~ and not for others. Hang in there, talk to someone (other Bandsters, friends, physicain or counselor). You will see the light at the end of the tunnel

I guess they are all alike! Just as all of us suspected! My husband is also super supportive but makes the same comments. I have to reassure him that I was much slimmer when I married him and this surgery will not change who I am or who I love. Best of luck Mispk83, fast healing to you and to all above - may our husbands relax!

Hang in there dagmar68, I am in the same boat - my surgery is Tuesday. I could almost even eat liver just for something solid!!! You can do it!!!
-
Congratulations! Glad it is going so well for you. I am so excited for my surgery I wish I could blink and get to next Tuesday!

Under The Gown Jitters!
Pollyanna12 replied to kmcassada's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I posted this somewhere already - the nurse suggested I wear a button down shirt the day of surgery so I did not have to lift my arms when getting dressed to go home. I used to work for a Dr., and I know that as modest as we may be they are very respectful about keeping you and your body covered up. -
I Need More Protein. Please Help!
Pollyanna12 replied to Sammatha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Whey Isolate (vanilla) from Walmart - 1 1/2 lbs for $20. I tried to save $$ and got a 6 lb bag of vanilla Whey protein at Costco - but I hate it. I am not a fan of the chocolate flavors. But, I did get s 6 pack of Torani sugar free flavors on Amazon for $34. THese are the flavors they put in lattes. So, with some of that and vanilla protein powder you can make some good concoctions. Also, I have been using a tablespoon or so of sugar free pudding mix and/or sugar free jello mix into smoothies to add different tastes with the vanilla powder. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and beans/hummus also have good protein amounts. GOOD LUCK! -

Clothes: What Should I Wear Home Immediately After Surgery?
Pollyanna12 replied to ElizabethAnne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nurse suggested an oversize button up shirt so I don't have to raise my arms to get a t-shirt on. I already have the perfect pj bottoms picked out! And, thanks - I will wear my slippers too! -
Medicare Requirments Changed!!
Pollyanna12 replied to RoniB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What was your out of pocket cost with Medicare? I am hoping my hubby will choose banding after I get mine. -
My doc has 10 day prior is a liquid diet with 1 fruit and 2 c cooked veggies. Clear Liquids 2 days pre-op, and clear liquids at least 1 week after and start mushies as you can tolerate. I make my own Protein drinks, they have not offered any required type. Today is my day 1 liquids. So far, so good!

Should I Be Worried If I Have A Fever And Diarrhea
Pollyanna12 replied to caramelqueen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc has his nurses on-call 24/7, I'd call and check in. At my pre- op the nurse used fever as an example of when someone should call in. -

Day 21 Post Op: Appetite, Hydration, Movement
Pollyanna12 commented on phatkatblue's blog entry in phatkatblue's blog
Good info here, I am pretty concerned about my water intake after surgery. I am jealous your hubby is getting banded now too! Mine is waiting until he sees how this is for me, and then will begin the insurance pre-requisites. He is super supportive but, he can lose weight thinking about weight loss. Kind of like i can gain 5 pounds walking past a tray brownies -
Aemh - I had a similarly bad experience with my psych appt. he remanded me to counsleing with a counselor I saw years ago. we sent 5 or 6 sessions talking about TV shows, the weather, etc. - All of which i had to pay co-insurance and the insurance paid for .... hoops hoops hoops to jump through!
-
Yvonne, I doubt there is too much real MILK in th sugar free Jello pudding cups, maybe try those with some protein powder stirred in?
-
CONGRATS!!! What a process..... I wish the insurance companies would recognize that this really saves them money and us health in the long run.

Started Preop Diet Today
Pollyanna12 replied to tammyjo85's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
WOW! This is a great thread. My surgery is the 20th and I am at 2 shakes + dinner, Saturday i switch to all shakes... I LOVE the recipe from @waitingpatiently. I also got a cookbook by Chef Dave Fouts, of all protein shake recipes. You can search him on google to get to his site. He has some amazing concoctions. I love the support on this site! Those htat have gone before us - THANK YOU, those at the same step in the process - we need eachother, and those waiting on approval - we are your support and cheering section. Thanks all ~
