Hey Michele, congratulations on your weight loss to date. That is terrific news. I was banded about a week before you by Dr. Deol. Did you ever get a answer to your question about a refund or partial refund ... $800.00? Just curious, because I would love to know too.

RoseWolf... Just wanted to let you know that I finally had my appt. with Dr. Krause too. I really enjoyed him. He listened to me and gave me some good pointers to keep in mind that I hadn't thought of. I will see him again in 6 weeks. Also, his office staff was wonderful too. I had no problems either and would recomend him. I asked him if he had plans on leaving anytime soon, he just laughed and said that was a question he was getting a lot. Karen

Michele, check out what Rosewolf had to say about him... another thread in the MI section. She seemed to really like him. I have my first appointment with him since Dr. Deol has left, next Monday. Let us know how your appointment goes and how you like him.

If anyone is going to the "after care" support meeting tomorrow night at Dr. Deol's office, can you post what went on? I can't make it because I have to work ( parent / teacher conferences), but I will be curious if they have more meeting scheduled for after the new year and are they going to start collecting for this too? Rose Wolf, let me know how your appointment goes next week. I have one with him the Monday after Thanksgiving for my consult/ transition from Dr. Deol. I am curious to hear about him.

I think you are right April, we did talk about a whole year of meetings. I am feeling like I am getting ripped off because I paid the $800.00 in July for a years worths of support group meetings and now it might only be until Feb. or March. Also, at the last meeting did she mention something about if it was going to go longer for us to put money "in" for it to continue? If anything I feel like those of us who just paid the money should get some sort of a refund. The only reason I knew the meeting was going to be at Dr. Deol's office this last time was because I had called just a day or two prior to the meeting to confirm and Patriza told me it was at the office like normal... otherwise I would have been at the Troy Comm. Center too.

Thanks, I was in towards the end of last month and picked up my records. Did Debbie find another job? Last I heard from her, she was in limbo waiting like the rest of us.

Has anyone heard if another doctor is taking over her practice? Last I heard they were still talking about it. Rosewolf, I feel for you. I can't even imagine how devastating it must be for you to come so close. Don't give up now, you are right there... it will get done. As for me, the two doctors on the east side are just too far for me to go right now. I have an appointment with Dr. Krausse in November. I read some good posts about him from another website. And, Bess, the gal in his office was very nice to me on the phone. I had read where others complained about his office staff. The other thing I liked about him was he was at Beaumont. At least if there is an emergency, I know I can go there and it is fairly close. Chicago is always an option, and of course she has invited all her patients out there, but if the east side it too far for me, so is Chicago... but, one never knows. Good luck with whom ever you choose!

I too tried asking about Dr Meguid and Dr. H and got no response, however, I did get a response from Eastside bansters on Dr. Krause in Royal Oak and he got great reviews,but his office staff didn't. Maybe tonight they will have some information on who may possibly by out her practice??? I have heard wonderful things about Port Huron, but that just seems too far for me to go... heck, I would want to make a two day trip out Chicago if that was the case. Good luck everyone!

wow marilyn, you must really feel lost...just being banded a few weeks ago. I was banded in July and know I feel like I am walking in circles trying to figure out who to go to next. It was a hard decision to find the right doctor in the first place, now I have to find another...has anyone decided on who they will see ?

I too am a patient of Dr. Deol's. I haven't a clue as to where to go from here, but I know that she did mention Dr. Krause is out of Royal Oak Beaumont, and I believe the other two are out of Bon Secour. Did you happen to get anything in the mail from her office? I haven't as yet, but I am sure we will get something. I am going to try to get in for one last fill this month before she leaves.

Faithmd, just wondering...have you been to PH? I just want to get all the information I can before deciding on a new doctor. I have heard others on this forum talk about their doctors in PH and wondered just what it was about them they really liked.

HI Rose Wolf, I was disappointed too yesterday when I heard that Dr. Deol was leaving for Chicago. It sounds like an opportunity she just could not turn down. I was wondering about the doctors she mentioned also. Being from Commerce Twp, I thought Port Huron was too far to go... although, I did entertain the thought of going to Chicago for my visits, but realize that is just impossible. Once you find a doctor you really trust and have an report with you just don't want to change. If you hear about another doctor willing to take over her practice.... let us know. Otherwise, it is on to trying to find a new doctor. Karen

Congratulations on the weight loss!!!, I seem to be having a slow go at it so for. I go tomorrow for my second fill and hope this starts the weight loss again.

no pics here either after surgery... but I did get to see the band after my first fill on monday.

I ended up buying one case of the strawberry ready to drink opti fast shakes and the rest that I had to mix myself. I still have about 3 boxes of the stuff you have to mix in the cupboard. Every once in a while I will grab one of the packets, mix and use... for some reason they aren't as bad now as what I thought they were when I had to use them. I know you can add flavorings to them to help. In the end though, it was all worth it.... I have no regrets about my band:).

I was on Opti fast for 2 weeks...just the opposite here, found it easier at first but by the time my two weeks came to a close, I could hardly get it down. From my first appt. with Dr. Deol until I got approved from my insurance was 2 weeks. I had scheduled all of my other stuff like the cardio work up along with my physical / blood workbefore I saw her, so once I met with her all I need was the two visits with the nutritionist and psych eval. My PCP was not supportive at all with my decision to have this done, which is why I am going to switch to one she recommends. The fill went great this morning. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. No pain what so ever. It is nice to have someone with the same doc. Karen
