Hi I was banded yesterday and I feel pretty good besides the noises coming from my belly. Lo. Yesterday my back was killing me im just glad thats gone.

I got my surgery date for April 22nd. I'm excited and ready.

So I had a set back and trying not to get over it and do what is right. My insurance denied me I have to wait 6 months. I am so discouraged.. I need some good vibes

Well the surgeon visit went fabulous but there has been a minor setback.. Tricare is being butt holes and now I may have to wait for 6 months. I had a complete meltdown last night and cried and cried and then did the worst thing ever.. Yep I emotionally ate! Everything was bad!! I woke up this morning with a new attitude, read my bible and just gonna give it all to God and try my best to do the right thing.

Officially excited! First visit with my surgeon on Wednesday.. I'm beyond ready. I went shopping last night and found this famazing "plus" size shirt but you know what? I'm over buying plus size clothing. I'm ready for a new me.. Happy Sunday my friends

So a quick little update on the 5th of March I begin my appointments its kinda cool I have 3 in one day including my pysch visit. I'm getting rather excited. Anyone on tricare that can give me some tips?

The seminar went well. I already mailed my packet out now just waiting to hear back from the surgeon's office. The sleep study sucked ass. I hated it and I did qualify for sleep apnea I have to attend another appointment and to sleep with the mask I hope it goes better than my last one. Other than that I am ready to start the steps to my new beginning.

Its been about a week since I have been on here. Nothing has changed much except for the fact I am getting more and more anxious to start the procedures in order to have my surgery. I was supposed to go for my sleep study tonight but I rescheduled for tomorrow and I also have my lap band discussion tomorrow as well. Hopefully it will be a meet and greet to some new friends in my area that also will be having the surgery. I wanted Ryan (my husband) to go but since I will be having my sleep study at the same place within hours of each other I will be going alone which I am okay with. At first I was nervous about all of this but I am so focused and ready to make these changes. Everything is going so well for me and I feel the timing is perfect!! I brought a new car on Monday and I have been showing more interest in wanting to get my family into church and also with the lap band dieting I'm just hoping I am not making too many changes all at once but for some reason I feel I am being called to do it NOW!! This site is such an inspiration. Everyone is so supportive and just reading their stories and looking at their pictures gives me the confidence I need to stay focused. I don't know who will be reading this but I'm proud of each and every one of us that is or has made this change..... Until next time..

Hey y'all my name is Shawnte, I am 34 years old and I am ready to begin a new lifestyle change. I am over weight and have been for some time now. I have started diets and didn't complete them. I have gone to the gym which was also a fail. I am familiar with the lap band and recently had my PCM put in a referral. Good news is I received my approval letter and now I am so anxious to get this ball rolling. My husband will be deploying soon and what a better time to focus and take better care of myself. I have a few questions like starting what do I do now?!? I did attend a seminar a while back ago and have no problem attending another one. Any input or advice is greatly appreciated. I am looking for inspirational stories as well as becoming friends with anyone that has had or getting ready to have the lap band procedure.
