  1. What saved me the first few days was a recliner, if you don't have one maybe borrow one. I couldn't lie flat and the recliner was a real pain saver. The pillow to hold to your abdomen is a really good thing. I'm a nurse so I will tell you to walk immediately, it really helps the gas pain and it helps you feel better faster. Also, take deep breaths and cough for the first couple days to keep your lungs clear, all of this helped me. I was banded last Thursday 1/26 and am returning to work tomorrow. I do sit at a desk (supervisor) so that helps but get up and move asap...
  2. Hi, I'm new to this so bear with me...I am 3 days post-op and am soooo hungry. i came home from the surgery hungry . Can anyone tell me if all appears well, i.e. no pain, etc, are you usually moved to phase II of the diet at your 1st post-op appt?
  3. I tried a 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese and ate it really slow and chewed it to death...no problems but...still hungry...what the heck? Anyway, I go see the doc on Thursday so I will talk to them then but I will not go above what I have already tried. I certainly don't want to cause any problems to my healing stomach.
  4. Thanks everyone...it's hard but it will be worth it..
  5. Thank you, I want so much to be successful but I don't think I fully understood the "extreme hunger" aspect of it. Maybe i will try a little tiny bit of cottage cheese or yogurt tomorrow...Thank you... Sheri

    So Frustrated...

do the physicians usually let you move up to Phase II after the 1st week because I swear I won't make it another week on the clear fluids...

    So Frustrated...

I am just 3 days post op and still doing clear liquids...very, very, hard...came home hungry. Families don't mean to be inconsiderate they just may not understand how hard it is for us, I know I wasn't expecting it to be this hard. I had pie in the sky dreams of never being hungry and just breezing through the recovery phase. What a joke, I feel like I am in a self-imposed concentration camp, my stomach just growls and growls...if yours is doing that hopefully it will ruin their meal
