You know its funny, but 2-3 months ago, I felt the dame way as you. I wasn't losing quickly and was trying so hard. Then for some reason, my body figured out that this was not just another freak diet, but a real thing and i started losing weight quickly, in a month I went to skin tight 14s to comfortable 12s..it may be for you that your body is still fighting the weightloss. Dont give up and keep trying

Its all in your head. before being banded, I used to love eating Italian food like fetticine and Sphaghetti (no clue if spelled right!) and all kinds of carbs, plus soda, o man I could drink like my weight in dr pepper. Post band: I cant handle Pasta of any kind. None. And I seriously thought that it would make me depressed and I would miss it, and sometimes, if some ones eating a mound of pasta infront of me, I do miss it. But most of the time, Im thankful that I no longer have that addiction hanging over my head. I dont drink soda anymore, and the sweet tooth cravings are easily satisfied. If I am dying for something sweet, I make cupcakes. If they are chocolate, I add i can of diet coke and the dry batter, mix and cook, cuts down ALOT of the cravings, if vanilla then diet sprite and strawberry diet big red etc. theres also low cal choc and sugar free candy. But honestly the first months are hardest, but then you'll soon find that food no longer has the same control over you it once did Also it can only ruin you if you let it. You can monitor how much you eat and make sure to balance it out with healhy things. Ive also taken to chewing gum and lolipops, they take longer to eat :eek: seriously though, a sweet tooth probally wont hold you back too much. any weight loss is better than none, and even if you are slower than some at losing, the point is you will lose! You have to learn that some foods aren't worth being fat over. Take it from me, you will get over the constant cravings and obession, and if you do slip up, the band will be there to help you recover good luck! -

Hey guys just wanted to say congrats to everyone recently banded or about to be. Im 22 in school, and my life has never been better since getting banded! Its amazing cause Ill hold up clothes to myself and be like those arent gonna fit..and they do. When I bought my first pair of jeans size 10, I wanted to leave the sticker on the leg saying the size because I was so proud of it!!

Ok so mine involves my little sister who has no idea what it is to be fat, and shes very happy for me and what not, but one day she walked into my room with a pair of jeans that she wanted me to go donate because they were too big for her. They were Abercrombie jeans, size 10. I tried them on just to see, knowing they wouldnt fit...They fit. Not only that but my little sister storme out of the house in a temper because she was afraid I would raid her closet...I have never been able to raid her closet for anything except socks..she came home later and i was raiding her closet!! oops Also another victory is that my doctor says I am one of his star paitents..they didnt recognize me last time I showed up One more.. I went out to a bar not long ago, and got carded, not a big deal, Im 22. They wouldnt serve me alcohol because I had lost so much weight and now dont look like my pic!! YAY:clap2: Since Feb 2007 Ive gone from a size 22/24 jeans to size 10 a 3x top to a large! Ive gone from a 44 DDD cup to a 32 C

I personally knew this was right for me because I was tired just sick and tired of being fat. I would lose weight and gain it back again and again. I got tired of having to not do things because I was fat, things skinny people dont appreciate, like going to a typical store and finding something to wear, or haveing someone hug you and they can wrap thier hands around you... As far as complications I've dealt with things one at a time, as they come As to being disappointed..No way. Absolutely its not exactly fun not being able to drown myself in food and eat whatever I want. Its a pain sometimes to plan out what I am going to eat...HOWEVER I am so much more comfortable with myself. I am happy and am doing things that I wouldve NEVER done before the surgery. I no longer look in the mirror and say to myself, "not bad with what you are working with", now its like "O yeah I look GOOOD!" :eek: I would honestly do this surgery again if I could go back a year..even if I had more complications and vomitting. I have so much more self respect for myself, and I had no idea I was so hard on myself. Every time I walked in the room I would play this lil mind game with myself..Whose the fattest one here...I always won, and sometimes even todayI catch myself playig that game..but I stop myself because Im not fat any more. I am a lil on the heavy side, but not fat. This is the first time in my life. I am 22 and now weigh the same amount as when I was in 6th grade and broke my leg. Thats amazing. I have two sisters, one of which is an Einstein and the other is the type that when she walks by, guys looks. I used to tell people one sister had the brains, the other the looks and I had the personality..well someone actually stopped me once and said Well Tiffaney, you know youre quite pretty too....Ive been saying that for at least 5-6 years, and No one has ever disagreed with me before. Do what you believe is right. Only you know yourself.

Grr. Ok so why it it that because you are fat you are supposed to o i dont know..STUFF your freaking face at the sight of food? I go out with a guy friend and I am not filled at the time we went out and I just order a side salad..mostly bc Im cheap, but also bc im on a diet..anyways he looks at me like Im crazy and is like arent you gonna order more, why arent you eating youre gonna get hungry in a while yada yada..Im like what bc I am fat I have to order a 3 course meal and than stab a hunk of food off your plate and stuff it down my throat? O I also have a ready supply of candy bars in my purse and 8 flavors of ice cream in my fridge. Give me a freaking break!!!! Excuse me while I order three cakes..grr.. Just cause im fat doesnt mean Im a freaking heifer!! I dont eat an insane amount of food, before or after my band... THEN another thing. Why are we defined by our weight...When people dont know your name or are talking to people who dont whys it always That big girl...why cant it be the girl with curly hair thats big..or the curly hair with glasses thats big..why does it always start with big? Like youve seen one big girl, Youve seen them all!! One last thing..why does it cost more to dress nice if youre big?! Im sorry but its not that much extra fabric! grr

Does anyone have any good recipes for quick meals? I am so tired of tuna cups!! I go back to school in a couple of days and need ideas for lunches. I can make theings the night before and will have a microwave if needed. Thanks!!:ranger:

OMG if anyone told me i looked like the girl in Shallow Hal...I might, no i would go crazy on thier butt. Not that she wasnt pretty etc, but that whole movie was directed at emphasizing how fat she was... Anyone see the movie Summer Catch..Well in it this character is seeing this girl behind his friends back and he wont tell his friends bc shes "fat" ok whatever..well they show this girl..shes like a size 14 or so..not fat...just not freaking paris hilton thin. Made me so mad!! I would kill to b a 14..and according to the casting people shes fat...grr.. I cant watch anything that makes fun of fat people. of course I also dont watch movies and stuff that make fun of retarded people, deaf people, handicapped people...Im kinda a bleedin heart

Ok so I have two sisters, one older one younger. Now everyone that knows all of us has us stereotyped for ease of remembering..my older sister is the smart one, shes in dental school..nevermind that i am a senior getting a bio degree myslef..my younger sister has always been the pretty one..me Im the fat funny one. One day my aunt told me "I'm just not sure of how to think about you now that youve lost so much weight. " What like my weight was my defining characteristic! Say nothing about my Shirley temple like curly hair , sarcastic outlook or witty personality..What do you call the fat one when shes not fat... But really the worst was after my band I started losing weight (duh!)and went down to a size 18. Well my sister, whose college eating habits are catching up to her is a size 18. Well, I no longer am. Fact is, Im like a 15 now..Well I offered her my jeans. They were only worn for like a month or two, so still in good shape.."O, I wont wear your fat jeans!" and I was like Megan, if they fit you, then wear them..wouldnt even try them on..because her fitting into them would mean the sky would begin to fall apparently...bc theres no way in heck that she could be fatter than me!!

Has anyone else noticed how much a pain in the behind they are..I am so freaking frusterated right now that I want to swear them all off and become a hermit with a bunch of cats!!! Ok so I am younger than many on here, being 22 and not married. Been talking to this guy for several months. I mean talking as we hang out every day together and text and call each other and do things together. Well last week he stopped returning my calls and wont text me back!!!! Not returning a call is a pet peeve of mine anyways, but the thing is I know him well enough to know hes not doing anything better. Hes sitting on his freaking couch watching tv..ya know being a productive human being ! ( Im sorry I tend to get sarcastic whenever Im mad!) Is it so hard to call me back. Im sorry I didnt know that it was difficult to answer a cell phone.Or maybe hes concerned about getting brain cancer..o wait that cant be it, bc texting a person doesnt require the phone to be held next to the ear. Maybe hes found someone better to talk to. FINE WHATEVER. Answer the ***** phone and say that youre busy. Totally fine. Grr. So A huge portion of me wants to drive to his house and pull crazy on him by poundin on his door like a freakin stalker and seeing whats up..another part of me wants to so run off my frustrations and get super hot and skinny and then accidentally run into him. Even thinking about this whole situation pisses me off!! I realize to those of you that are married this might seem juvenile, but really all Im asking of the man is to pick up the phone when it rings..in my book this should not require an act of GOD! hmm..seriously I think being a hermit with a lot of pets might b the life for me -
Feb'07 Bandsters: August Exercise Challenge

Quick intro ..never saw this on here before..22 yo female in Tx in school. 1st time to do a challenge...I actually decided that I was gonna be in a size 12 or less for my sisters wedding in Dec, so I have decided to get my butt in gear!! I am currently in a 14/16 down from a 22/24...but formal dresses run small..Also, bc of my age I was never put on a pre op diet, so all my weight loss is due to the band anyways, I actually just changed my fall schedule. I decided to take several gym classes to help me get in gear... I will be taking self defense, aerobics (no clue on the spelling), karate and bowling (still exercising!lol) so al together that means Ill be an elite intermediate i think.. might be confused on the wording there . I am also raising a very active 6 mnth old puppy who requires walks everyday to prevent her from destroying my house, so hopefully this will work!!!:ranger: -

Ok so Im not a pill popper or suppliment mixer type of person. More power to those of you who are, but I can't remember to take them and then I have this mental block thing...ANYWAYS, so basically I have to do Peanut Butter. Low fat as possible just a spoonful on the way out the door...kinda feels "naughty" if ya know what i mean so it helps me crave less too..I also eat lots of tofu things and soy products that I can mix in with everything... O and of course cottage cheese, lowfat. Ill mix it in with yogurt and there ya go!

Technically yes I believe so, which is kinda the road I took! haha what can I say Im a rebel! But I have found out that no matter how much I chew..some things I can not keep down, like bread or chicken etc. Basically you know the foods the doc wants you on, try sticking to them as much as possible, but if that fails..Chew chew chew :0

I am totally random in what gets stuck for me! most meats do bread Pasta broc..which sucks cause I love it Yet I can eat freaking mexican tortia chips till my eyes bulge..alright like 5, yet I cant eat broc..grrr -

Ok so Im not one of those people who is good as estimating things. Anything from feet to weight, I'm always way off. That being said, I can not look at a hunk of food and be like yah thats about right...haha. I bought a food scale for like 20 bucks and do use it, but mostly I just cook dinner or lunch or whatever for myslef and make a normal person's recipe, and then eat out of a small bowl until I get full. I dont let myself gets 2nds of any carb. Leftovers are for another meal, which I do because I hate cooking, and the less I have to cook, the better. I do think that many people can "eyeball" things, but I can not, so I wouldnt depend just on this Good Luck:D -
Hmm I never went through a pureed stage...Day after surgery I was put on liquids, next day mushy for two days and then regular... Saying that I think that as long as what you are eating doesn't hurt or anything or make you throw up, then you should be ok. Sure it would be ideal if you could follow the doc's orders, they didnt go to medical school for nothing, but at the same time, have they ever tried eating baby food..YUCK! I doubt it. Just do what feels right to you. You know yourself better than any doctor Good luck and Congrats!:clap2:

For a lil spice in my diet for this stage, I would go order soups from Chinese restaurants and not eat the solids. They were so flavorful that it helped..I also took like apple juice and froze them into popsicles..

I feel ya on the tuna..I think I might be growing fins... I have been trying Vegan and Vegeterian (prob not spelled right!) foods recently. These are often made to be real high in Protein. I found this chili that used like fake turkey and Beans and it was actually real good I found it at Walmart but cant remeber the brand, but it fed me for awhile. But they do have lots of tofu etc foods available and these are higher in protein..o and of course I drink soy milk everyday. Its actually a chore for me because I dont like milk of any type, so I have to work myself up for it and have this lil pep talk about how i need the protein etc, then I also add coconut extract to it, to help get it down. Good luck, as a last result, even though my doc told me not to, I will drink a Protein shake as a meal. He didnt want me to eat them bc they were empty calories, but I make them real thick with soy milk and freeze them into a shake..keeps me full for a while and ensures that I am getting protein

ok so this is gonna sound...odd, but i love it I make this for my school lunches and eat them as I walk around campus.. I take a slice of pickle, and put fat free cream cheese on it, then roll up a couple slices of thin sliced lunch meat...i know its some what odd but I like it because I can keep it in a baggie, and its different from things like tuna..bc I eat enough tuna that I might grow fins!! Also suggestions, I buy these little oranges, theyre like less than a dollar a piece, and perfect for me, because they take a while to eat bc you have to peel, and still small, this way its not so noticable on the amount of food I eat good luck with the hurricane..this is coming from someone who spent DAYS on the road bc of Hurricane Rita..

Alright call me lazy or whatever, but after a day of work etc and dealing with a kid ( i have 2 and although they might have tails they still count!) sometimes you just can't physically muster the strength to get up and workout. I myself sometimes have a hard enough time brushing my teeth. So, heres what I started to do. I bought a little cooler and alot of those ice packs to have my lunch in. THEN I parked in a slot across the lot from my work. At lunch, I would go down the stairs, walk across the parking lot and get my lunch. THEN its a walk back across the lot, up the stairs to go eat. Then as I got more in shape itd b back to the car to put the cooler up. That way I was getting in my exercise without really knowing it and it wasn't in the beginning of the day when I was asleep or at the end of the day when I had to talk myself out of crashin on the couch. Just a thought...

Ok so I got my band in Feb, everything is going ok, but to tell you the truth I was sort of imagining an easier way out..figures!! Anyways I have trouble when ever I eat Anything. I burp. This may not sound like a big deal to some but the thing is I think its so grossss..its like a pet peeve. And sometimes I'll burp with no problem and other times I get this painful air bubble that I'll have to pound on my chest to unlocate. I was wondering if anyone else has or had the same problem and any advice. I've accepted the fact that I am probally not chewing enough which doesnt help anything. Has anyone tried something like those thin strips of gas-x for something like this? :help:

I guess Im lucky bc I live in an outlet town. So I have an old navy outlet near me and a lane bryant outlet. So I went like last week and found like 7 shirts all for $5 or under at ON and 2 at LB for the same price..try seeing if there is an outlet near you. The ON outlets always has plus sizes..thank goodness!
