congrats!! I got approved on Monday and scheduled for March 6th!!! YAY!!!

I have not been banded yet. I have my surgery on March 6th at Community Medical Center in Toms River. I work there so everything was just convenient for me to do it there. I had all my meetings , blood-work, test, etc done there before work. As you can see I'm thinking of all the things I should have NOW.... Next week I start my liquid and Tuesday the 6th is B-day! I can't wait. I just called my husband and told him we need to go out for dinner and apps of clams before next week!

B52, I'm in Jackson , nj we are almost neighbors. As you can see I'm not far from the beach so i like my summer nights over at Point Pleasant or LBI.

fried would be heaven but it would have been on a half shell on ice. I will miss this. I know it sounds odd but I think this will be the biggest thing I miss.... I loved going out to dinner and having a few oysters and calms on the shell with a few drinks.. Better then Pasta or burgers for me!

Yup. Makes perfect sense... Guess I need to have a few before my pre-op shakes next week...

Hi all. I'm March 7th I can't wait!! I start my liquid diet two weeks before which would be the 22nd. I'm so excited yet nervous since I want this to work so bad....

APPROVED, APPROVED!! I'm still in shock.... My drs office called EMPIRE BCBS today to let me know she was submitting my paper work, she told me they asked her a few questions and approved her over the phone in minutes!!! I'm still in shock! I was so shocked and in dienail that I had to call BCBS myself and they said YES, its approved! 100% .. I love Empire BCBS - Thanks you! I have a BMI of 41 and nothing else I totally assumed it was going to be a long journey for me but it was not. I'm so greatful. My surgery date is March 6th. I started my Journey on Jan 21! This is so unreal! Thank you everyone for your support and feedback over the last two weeks with all my approval questions!~ LIFE IS GOOD and ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER!!

my policy holder is New York District council of carpenters as well. My husband is a carptner in New York City Local.

I have Empire BCBS and I was approved in minutes over the phone today!! My drs office told me she called them to let them know she was sending over paperwork and she said they asked her a few questions and approved her over the phone!! She said she was even shocked!!!!.... I just could not believe it and I called BCBS myself today and they said the same thing its approved and covered 100% My surgery date is March 6th. Empire BCBS rocks!! To add I have a bmi of 41 and no other issues.. I started this process Jan 21

OMG!! My surgeons office just called me to tell me they called Empire BCBS to let them know they were sending over docs today for my surgery. They then told me BCBS asked them a few questions and approved me over the phone! Can this really be?? I want to call BCBS so bad and find out for sure but I don't want to stir the pot...... OMG!! OMG!! I didn't even tell anyone yet but you guys, i been lurking for weeks and would not have as much info as I do now if it was not for you!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.... Do you think this is correct? It must be. I'm prob just in shock.. OMG, OMG, OMG!!!

ugh, the waiting games stinks but Friday is only a few days not months or weeks so hang in there!! Good luck!!

I work in the hospital that is doing my surgery so not only will my boss know ( she prob does already) but Im' pretty sure everyone will! lol I'm ok with it. I feel the more I tell the less I can screw up!

I just got approved today!! I'm March 6th!! I can't wait.... Is this bad of me put I already told my husband I need one last night out of eating and my fav place.. I knew it bad but I know I will prob never be able to go there again and order what I want... DOes anyone else have a last meal planned or am I just that much of a fatty??? lol March 6th is my date!! YAY!!!

My drs office told me once someone got denied because they did't send in a form the ins company wanted. It can be something so simple. She also told me that if this happens to me she won't appeal it becuase that takes up to 30 days she will just tell the ins company to cxl the claim and resumitt what was missing so you need to have your dr office find out and maybe it will move things along for you! Good luck. I just got approved today from BCBS over the phone within minutes with a bmi of 40 and no co/morbs . good luck!

good luck! I actually read about your port on another thread but did't realize it was you. We are pretty much alike. I'm 5'2 230 and three boys 8,6 and 4. I feel the same way. They all play sports and karate and I want to be able to go there and run with them and cheer them on with the engery I should have. I want to be able to run around the house with them without losing my breath! Good luck on the port and your fill ... So it is true the 1st 6 weeks until I get a fill I will feel the same as I do now?? How scary?? I'm still decideding what my last meal will be how sick is that??

My paper work will be ready to go on Feb 10th! My last consult is Feb 9th in the drs office and they told me they will send it out on the 10th. I have a BMI of 42.1 I have my phy test, My letter of medical necessity, all my meeting I needed etc. The only thing I don't have is proof of weight history. I never been to a pcp until this year. Looking at Empire BCBS requirements I don't see that I need this but i'm still stressing can someone with this INS please tell me if you needed it and or can someone look at there policy ( attached) and tell me your reading the same as me and I don't need it?? I'm not sure I don't even have surgery until on the 6th of March but I was wondering how long you been banded and how much did you lose up until your 1st fill. I'm worried I wont' lose a thing!!

Even the secretary kept saying are you sure??? I had to call them to double check I was denial it was so fast and YES , its approved!! I can't believe it!! I'm on cloud 9! s since you had your surgery in Dec how are you doing now? Almost two months out? From your profile pic you look great. I'm 38 , 225, 5"2 and can't wait to live life again. !
