From the album: chrissylu
This is me in 2009 on my 40th birthday. One year after I'd lost 75 pounds on WW and then gained it all back by the time my B-day rolled around. I don't even remember what I weighed here. Probably about 250 or so. -
Feel Full But Also Feel Hungry. Is This Normal?

Disinterest is a good way to put it. Hadn't been able to put a label on it. Now I can. -
I Just Need To Vent And Could Use Some Encouragement
chrissylu posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I got my band on 1/25. I went in a week later for an adjustment to loosen just a bit because I thought I wasn't eating enough. 24 hours later, I realized what a mistake I had made because I realized I had been measuring my food wrong...by weight instead of volume. So...for four days, I've been eating the full cup of food allowed for me, and two hours later, I'm hungry. I thought I might be able to go in today but the doctor said no. I have to wait a week and a half until my 3-week post-surgery check-up. I feel like an idiot. I'm worried about eating too much and not losing anything. Trying to remind myself of positives, but I'm wondering if anyone else has done this? -

Yes Bert...I feel the same way! I've been on an emotional roller-coast since my surgery. Thank God there are so many people willing to share their stories and offer help and support! Good luck and blessings to you! -

I feel the exact same way!! -
I had my first fill yesterday. My surgery fill was 3 cc. 2 wks ago I had an unfill that took me down to 2 cc (big mistake...so hungry for two weeks.) Yesterday, Doc tried filling to 4 cc...felt like the water was going to come back up so he backed down to 3.5cc. on liquids today and I'm so hungry! I don't remember feeling like this on my pre-op liquid diet. Excited to start mushies tomorrow but a little nervous too.

Getting My First Fill Tomorrow...
chrissylu replied to jennabean27's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a pre-fill during surgery of 3cc. A week later, I thought my band was too tight and he removed 1cc. The next day I realized I had been measuring my food wrong and had just been eating too much. (ugh!). Today was my 3 wk check-up and he did a fill. At 1cc(add), I was ok. At 1.5, I was okay. At 2cc, I felt like the water was going to come back up. That's a weird feeling when you know you're not sick. So, he backed it back down to 1.5cc. So...my total fill now is 3.5 cc on a 10cc band. I'm feeling pretty good right now. Not looking forward to liquids for two days but am looking forward to that additional weight coming off. As for workouts, I've been doing the treadmill for 20 minutes (2.5 to 3.5 speed), 3x a week. Just follow doctor's orders. Good Luck! -
Liquids During Full Liquids Stage

The waiting anyway is a good practice to get into. My doctor told me I didn't have to wait because the shake is going to move through faster than food anyway. But, like "honk", I try to wait an hour as well, just to keep at it. Good luck and blessings to you! -

I'm 3 weeks out and mine can be felt pretty well...but not really seen, that I've noticed. Wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about it though. -

2 more days until my 3wk check-up. Cant wait to get this band re-filled with what they took out two weeks ago. Can't believe I was measuring my food wrong. LOL! Have no idea how much I've lost because I've refused to get on the scale the past few days.

I was banded on 1/25! Had an interesting mistake with measuring my foods incorrectly and thereby having an adjustment when I didn't really need one. Oh well, I go for my 3 wk checkup on Wednesday and am hoping to get back to "feeling" restricted. Good Luck and blessings everyone!

I had it too my first week....quite often. My doctor said its normal...those abdominal muscles are healing from being "stabbed". However, as the swelling in my abdomen has subsided so has the pain. Its only every now and then. However, you should still consult with your doctor just to make sure.

I Just Need To Vent And Could Use Some Encouragement

Thanks Amica813 for the encouragement! My doctor had me on a fairly quick schedule post-op. 2 days of liquids, 2 days of mushies and then onto regular-consistency...if my body could handle it. I've been back and forth on the different textures. I was just disappointed that I couldn't go in today and "get back to where I started". Oh well..perseverence one day at a time! Thanks all. -
