    3Rd Time Isnt A Charm!

You are right...it shouldn't take a week...but maybe it because its Friday, they're trying to get out of the office, maybe they have a long line of medical records requests? who knows? At least they called back and working hard on it again. Sucks that he's going to be out of the country for so long.

    Had First Fill Yesterday. Confused?

I felt restriction with my first fill...then after a couple of days it seemed to lighten up a little bit. When I went back to more solid foods, it did seem to feel like more restriction. However, now I'm almost 3 wks out from that fill and it doesn't feel as tight. I think the band starts to relax some. I'm now getting hungry within about 3 hrs, where it was being 4-5 hours. Going back Tuesday for another.

    Straws

I was told not to as well. Straws draw additional air in and can cause that awful "pain-in-the-shoulder" thing from gas.

    3Rd Time Isnt A Charm!

My cousin was denied 4 or 5 times for gastric bypass and she was probably 400+ pounds at the time. She had several health issues, doctors and hospitals submitted on her behalf. She kept appealing (or the doctor did) and she finally got approved. Moral of the story, if you know you meet your insurance company's requirements...don't give up. I will send up a prayer for you on this. God bless!

    Surgery Tomorrow! Yikes!!"

    Walking and Gas-X helps too.
  7. So our company has set a free health assessment thing for us today. I like their scales better than mine---they say I've lost 32 pounds!! I think I'll go with that. :)

    Any Nashville Bandsters?

well...that first week...I followed his schedule for the couple of days liquids, couple days mushies, then try the solids. I didn't get sick or stuck but I was having a lot of pain. So I went in they took out 1cc. I could breathe! 24 hours later, I realized what my problem had been. I had been weighing my meats instead of measuring them. I was eating too much! Plus, I've realized since then that my band had not truly "settled" yet. So..I wasted about 2 wks of possible weight loss because they wouldn't adjust again until my 3 wk check-up. At my 3 wk, I got 1.5 cc. And yes..I love also that Dr. Morton doesn't mess around! Everyone in that office has been great! What has been the toughest part for you all?
  9. Wondering if there are any bandsters from Nashville, TN here. If so, who was your surgeon? When were you banded?

    Any Nashville Bandsters?

Dr. Morton is my doc too! Banded Jan 25th. Had an "unfill" on 2/1 (big mistake...I should have been more patient) but then re-filled on 2/15. Hoping to get my 2nd one next Tuesday. Doing good!

A Month To Form A Habit

Amen to both of these posts. I have forced myself to sign up for a weight loss challenge at my gym, I'm doing a 2-mile walk for March of Dimes and I'm signing myself and my son up for a 5k for his school in April. I figure if I make enough commitments, I won't let myself down. Good luck and blessings to you!

    When Will It Happen???

I want to play basketball with my son and not get winded.
  13. :( Davy Jones of The Monkees has died of a heart attack at 66.
  14. normal to have some swelling. Most doctors require a day or two of liquids and thne back to soft/mushies for a day or two, after a fill. I'm surprised the doc said solids were okay. hey Holly Dolly....tell me about the 5day pouch test. I've missed this somewhere in my reading/discussions. Thanks. Blessings Rhya2k
  15. woo-hoo! another pound today! That puts me 25% toward my goal! yay

  18. I crack myself up sometimes. I'm creating a notebook of my journey and I've called it my "LAP-book" (instead of a "scrapbook") LOL. Okay. I know not everyone will laugh. Its been a long day.

Look Good And Feel Good, But.......

I think (for me anyway) its a psychological thing stemming from having battled my weight for so long. That's why I try not to step on the scale every day. I don't want that little machine to have that kind of power over me. Some days I succeed. lol.
  20. That's freakin' awesome! I hope to posting the same thing this time next year...prayerfully, sooner! Congratulations!!!

    Surgery Tomorrow! Yikes!!"

Wow Corianna! That's awesome! Wish I could make it to that by my 7th week. I don't see it happening. LOL. I know everyone loses differently, but are you doing anything else "extra special"? Pardon me if I'm being too nosy.

    Surgery Tomorrow! Yikes!!"

Ditto on Allison0927's post! That's what happened for me as well. I barely even remember drinking the barium & them doing the x-ray after I "woke up". Hubby and son waited on my hand and foot for days! Lifting up a prayer for you Sassyfrass! Blessings and luck to you!

    I Feel Crummy!

oh that sucks! I thought I was going to have to post-pone mine back in January too, sound like because of the same type of illness. Fortunately, I was quite a bit through it and my doc said they'd be giving me antibiotics anyway in my IV...so he went ahead with it. I know its gotta be discouraging. Keep the faith. You can go do this again!!!
