Need Encouragement From People That Understand

You've done a great job so far! Keep it up. Remind yourself how you got this far. Read some old journals, posts, blogs and go over your food diaries from weeks where you had a good loss. Make sure you are getting enough water and and increase your protein...?? That worked for me on this last plateau that I hit. I'm nowhere near where you are but am looking forward to getting there. My goal is a year as well! Congrats and blessings!

    Newbie Post-Op!

GermaineF...I thought the same thing about some Pepsi as I picked up a 2-liter for my husband. LOL. I decided not to risk eat and drank some tea w/splenda instead. lol.

    Drinking While Eating?!

I have to wait an hour after as well. It didn't take long to get used to the waiting. I try to keep myself busy so the time seems to pass quickly. If I feel like my mouth is dry after eating, I'll chew a piece of sugar-free gum until I can have a drink.

    Looking Forward To...

I agree! I'm still not real comfortable trying to do yoga sitting positions, but its better. And I love being able to wear a 2-inch heel and my feet not killing me by the end of the day. Blessings to you!

Congrats Rockonhan and Jayeedee! Jayeedee...I would call the doctor's office back and demand that information. They are not allowed to keep that from you. From OTHER people yes...but not from you. Good luck with it and God bless.

    How Did You Tell People?

My husband was and is very supportive. He was nervous at first, because its surgery, but after I explained how the surgery was being done and how the band would work, he calmed down. Now he makes sure I count my food chews! LOL. I've told anyone who would listen. It helps keep me accountable. God bless you on this journey!
  11. Its a blessed new week and I'm going to make the most of it! I plan to exercise every day...I've got a short-term goal to meet! Increasing my protein intake and being even more careful about measuring my food. :) God bless!

  12. I need to know how to get over a plateau. I've been hovering around 30-32 pounds lost for the past couple of weeks. I had a .4cc fill on Tuesday; finished my 2-day liquids last night; and went back on mushies today. I exercise at least 4-5 times a week for 30minutes to an hour. If I go over on my daily carbs, its not by much and my doc said that's okay. I usually don't go over 1000 calories in a day. I get all my protein (plus some, usually) in. The only thing that I have a problem with is getting in 64 oz of water. Usually, I'm at about 48. Could that be the problem??

    Helppp Me Plsss!!

I'm 7 1/2 weeks post-surgery, and walking still helps me if I've managed to gulp in too much air. It helped in the days after the surgery. Mine passed before I heard about the heating pad trick but I've heard that helps too. It does get a little easier each day. God Bless!

    Helppp Me Plsss!!

Walk as much as you are able. Take Gas-x and be sure not to use a straw or big gulps of your drinks. It will take a few days, but eventually it will go away. The walking does help. Use your pain meds if you have to.

    Lap Band Problems...

You have to be in control of your health. Your body sends signals if something is wrong and this sounds like something is wrong. Instead of talking to your doctor first when you call, talk to the dietician or the doctor's nurse and tell them what's going on. Sometimes that will have move the doc in a different direction.

    Lap Band Problems...

I'd be calling my doctor again and if he didn't at least x-ray it, I think I'd find another doc. My doc told me not to drink anyting at all at least 20-30 minutes before I eat.

Frustrated To The Point Of Crying

Praying for you. I have RA. Was diagnosed when I was 21. I'm almost 43 now. It does make it difficult to start exercising...but start slowly and build up. It will eventually make the RA better...because you are excercising those joints. As someone posted above, even just getting out and taking a stroll for a few minutes each day...and slowly increasing that time...will help. Make sure you are getting enough to eat and drinking enough water. I am having trouble with the water and I think that is stalling me. God Bless!

    Gaining Back All The Weight

I agree with the previous posts. Don't give up. Just call the doctor's office and restart. Sure, it will take time but it will be worth it to lose the weight again. Will probably help with your back pain some too. God Bless!

    Concern About Future Fills!

what's the difference between a flouro fill and a syringe/saline fill?
  24. Have had a good day. On vacation the rest of the week. I took the man-child to his friend's house this morning and then went straight to the gym. Had my protein shake around noon and didn't eat "lunch" til 4. LOL
