    Surgery In The Am!!!

It'll be over before you know it! It literally felt like only a few minutes (to me) between being wheeled into the OR and waking up in recovery. Saying a prayer for you! Keep us posted and God bless!

    Protein Shake

Have you tried EAS pure protein chocolate? I like that and the Curves protein shakes. Those are both whey protein powders. Maybe soy would be better with your system? I haven't tried those.
  4. omg...SO stuck on a hard boiled egg white right now! Ugh!!!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

@Meredith: My last fill certainly helped my plateau! I'm wondering if I might have reached the green zone? a 1/2 cup of food keeps me full for 3-4 hours, I have reached the point where my band is noticibly tighter in the mornings. I now have to have a protein shake or something warm to drink early in the morning (or be up for 2-3 hours) before I can eat something solid. Now...at least you did some exercise...and you can make a goal to do more!!! Let's get moving Girl! I have a 5k (i'm walking) on Saturday and a walk for March of Dimes on Sunday so I've got to keep moving this week. LOL. Of course, I may not be moving come seven days from now. LOL! Kganous: Hang in there! As others have said...its a process, and though this could certainly feel like a set-back, I believe there is a reason for everything. May 7th is only a couple of weeks and we're all here for you! Saying a prayer for strength, patience and perseverance! JDI: Thanks...we got this! Mags: I feel the same way. I'm praying there's a cancellation at my doc's office between now and 4/25 so I can get one more fill in before my post-surgery 90 days are up. LOL.
  7. Better today than I was over the weekend! Got up and went to the gym at 330 this morning! Now I want to nap. LOL.

Good news Peeps! My "43 by 43" goal I set a week or so ago...well...I reached it this morning!! Wow! I think I'm going to change it to "45 by 43". LOL.
  9. Funny how yucky I feel on days that I don't go to the gym...or don't get enough water. Today is a "both of those" day. I'm just blah.

  10. Trying to stay positive...been up and down this week.

niquey0685...congratulations on starting this journey! Your procedure is on my birthday and I'd be willing to bet if will eventually feel like a new birthday for you! What Would You Do??

This same thing happened to me! I was coughing so badly that I was worried about what would happen post-surgery. My doc said I would be fine, that the antibiotics would probably kick whatever was going on with me...and sure enough...just like above...I felt better after surgery!

Even though I don't feel great physically today (see my profile status), mentally, I feel wonderful! I might hit my birthday goal early. Yay!
  15. Was miserable before the laxative last night. Now I'm miserable this morning after the laxative. ugh. can I go back to bed?

  16. Is anyone actively watching sodium intake? I'm very much a salt-a-holic and have not been consciously counting my sodium. I'm wondering if it might be hindering me some days.

    Watching Sodium Intake?

whew! I am getting my water in so maybe its not a big deal. I must do better with the salt intake though. no more snacking on pickles. LOL.

    Sleep Test

By the way...there's really nothing to fear from the sleep test. I've had it done and my son had one when he was about 9 or 10.

    Sleep Test

I second what Michele39 said. Sleep apnea can also be a co-morbidity, which can help with insurance approval. If you have sleep apnea, they will make sure there is a machine there because of the anesthesia and how it puts you into such a deep sleep. It might also affect what kind of anesthesia they use as well...not sure.

I love the comparison to marriage. Great blog!

    3wkspostop

Makopp...I have not had any abnormal issues. I get stuck easily but I just have to learn to take smaller bites...and stay away from breading on chicken. lol. I hate that your friend is having such issues. is her band too tight...that might make her stomach upset so much? Make sure she's not drinking anything carbonated as well. It takes a bit of trial and error to know what your stomach/body can handle after the procedure, but everyone is different and I encourage you to keep researching. Not every day has been great, but would I do it again? In a heartbeat. God bless & keep you!

    Easter 2012 40lbs down

Well you can always go back on your diet plan. You've got 4 visits already under your belt! Don't give up. Take each day...each step...one at a time. You can do this!

    Trial Diet

My doctor is in Nashville. I had 2-3 days of liquids and then i could TRY mushies. If that went okay, I could do 2-3 days of that and then TRY soft foods...and so on. my post-op diet went pretty quickly.

    Short Of Breath And Dizzy

I think I did that too. Part of it, I think, is all the air that is pumped into your abdomen...plus all that stuff in there is swollen from the doctor doing his/her work. I felt like the almost-fainting was due to my pain pills but I might not have been getting enough water.
